  • 3D pens and 3D printers are two completely different tools, but bring the two together and you can get some outstanding results! In this video I'll try out a few different techniques for using a 3D pen to add color and flair to your 3D prints.

      If you needed a quick box that's say water tight and all you have is polypanels, then you could seal the joints like caulking. It would be a similar taboo as super-gluing a Lego set together but it might work in a pinch

    I have a proposition! If you’ve ever seen Gunpla of Gundam Plastic Models, there is a technique called panel lining. The armor pieces of the model have very thin crevices and model makers use a black marker to fill in the crevice. You should consider designing a print with crevices that are the same width of the pen filament. This way you can just fill it up and have a cleaner result. You could also just sand any protruding pen filament and you got yourself a super cool multicolor print!

      That's a great idea! I'd love to give that a shot :)

    • @kumabanh1744
      @kumabanh1744 5 років тому +4

      LJTwiggy Panel lining and weathering are two completely different things. If you know Gunpla then you should know what panel lining is. If you don’t, then search it up.

    If you make holes or a little groof in your 3d model, you can '3d paint' in that 'groove'(not sure about that word) and it will be a lot cleaner. The collor will be 'inserdet' into the print.

    Hi Devin! You do a really good job!!I have a question: how can I store my pla filament? I have a 3d pen and a couple of pla spools, I don't use it very often, so what's the better way to keep them in good condition? Actually I'm keeping them away from the sun and sealed into plastic bags, but not vacuum-packed.
    Thank you! Keep it up with your job and your videos!!

    • @make.anything
      @make.anything  5 років тому +1

      Well I don't have much of a problem with my PLA but California is pretty dry. In a sealed bag with some desiccant (most filament comes with a bag or two) should be fine. And keeping it cool and out of the sun like you said.
