    Install the app for this pen. You will be super happy that you did. You can adjust the pen setting (speed, temperature, and material) and update the firmware on the pen.

    As an owner of the 3DSimoMini I feel as if it is "review sin" that you failed to mention the accompanying app for the pen (considering that you get commission from this lol).
    For those who do not know; the app (for both ios and android) communicates with your pen via bluetooth and offers greater control than is available through the on device screen such as: custom material profiles, speed and temperature control and various video tutorials.
    I think it is also worth mentioning that the pen uses 1.75mm filament, so you can use standard 3d printing filament spools of the same size. In fact these days I use 1.75mm filament almost exclusively so I don't have to buy extra separate filament for my pen.
    I carry this thing in my bag daily along with a meter of filament, wire and solder. It has come in real handy for repairing various things and it takes up almost no space because I can just use my phone charger to power it.

      +TheSteelGuru shame on me for not downloading the app 😓

    • @TheSteelGuru
      @TheSteelGuru 8 років тому +1

      If it is any consolation: I personally don't use it. The on device screen is good enough for what I use it for but I figured it was at least worth pointing out.

    19:32 our stem teacher did that with the 3d printer with the nozzle heated to 200 Celsius. We called it the [last name] test. Now your doing the devin test. It’s basically just touching something to see if it’s too hot. That’s like smelling toxic fumes to see if something’s emitting them! 😂

    For your soldering, you heat the wires, not the solder... just a tip. The solder should heat by contact with the wiring, and it wicks into the wires for a cleaner and more secure bond. That's why you're getting that kind of "bubble" blob thing going on. Good videos man. Got a 3Doodler when I got sick as a gift to keep my mind busy... can't say I'm very good with it but found a modeling use for it that doesn't take a tremendous level of skill that made me happy haha.

    you defenitely should do another video about the 3d simo mini because it DOES have different speeds.
    If you download the 3d simo app in the store (free) you can set your temperature, speed, material and download templates. you have 3 speeds with a small temperature difference the higher it is the faster.
