She is twelve years old in this performance. James Brown is giving her a thumbs up from heaven.

What is Angelina here, 11, 12? This should not be possible. It's a once-in-a-lifetime event that only can come together when a monumental native talent also puts in a huge amount of work to hone and perfect her gift, practically from birth. Angelina truly is a genius, a too-often-used word.
Her delivery, the cadence is so tasteful and spectacular. This is what amaze me the most. She has such a musical mind at such a young age. Her choices seems to always be right. Obviously they are not all improvised and it is surely a lot of hard work to get there but it seems so easy for her.

Thanks Michal. Angelina has been my refuge this past year. I recommend a dose of her every evening before bed. It really puts me in a restful state of mind. Maybe the most restful for me is her cover of "Every Time We Say Goodbye" by Cole Porter she recorded on a rooftop in Oslo at 10 years old. I think its even better than Ella.
I will never tire of listening to that performance. It's in my top 5 AJ performances.

What isn't debatable is the fact that she is the most versatile singer of excellence
that ever existed ! Have asked many times for one name of someone who can
perform her level of excellence in as many different genres as Angelina and have
never received one name. That has to tell you all there is to know.

which is the song 'How Great Thou Art', is 'to me' the most astounding
song she has ever sung. To hold that immensely, super low register that
I've never even heard an adult male match, from start to finish, is something
that proves she is on a level that certainly no female has ever matched.
Paul Robson is the only one who comes to mind when I remember listening
to him singing 'Old Man River' in the old movie 'Showboat'.

I am a HUGE Angelina fan but I don’t see her singing in 5 different genres, not that she can’t, just that probably the opportunity won’t present itself. has performed on You Tube videos, for it you were, it would become
clear that the genres she has mastered are Jazz, R & B, Soul, Country,
Gospel and ' Pop', not to mention Japanese (to honor her grandfather).
I can guarantee you that Elvis has never matched these numerous genres.

Didn’t you once comment that Angelina doesn’t have the power of Adele? Check out her version of Whitney Houston’s I Have Nothing,and Queens The Show Must Go On. Angelina reinvents songs to suit HER artistic style, that’s why she is an artist. Most “stars” are just singers, or imitate when they attempt a cover, boring. In those instances one should go and listen to the original. I’ve heard her cover songs that I have heard or played myself hundreds of times, and when she sings them it is like I’m hearing it for the first time, a new song. That my friend is talent.

Great reaction - I think that having this really good band behind her was the right platform to give this kind of performance. It's like she used the instruments as a spring board from which she leapt into the sky, totally fearless! At the end she became this young girl once more, just another day in the office, didn't even break into a sweat (unlike James Brown....)

Did you catch the conductor looking at her and shaking his head like, 'are you kidding me!!'when she sings love over and over near the end?? There is no doubt that this young lady possesses gifts that she is just beginning to mine. I am never surprised by what this young lady can do with a song, but I am always amazed when she does it. Michal, and what about the most artistic and unique work that Angelina is doing on the song: its lyrics?
Thanks to her use of what I would call her transformative phonetics applied to some of the words and expressions, she provides to the song its proper color and cultural trait: its revised American Southern accent.
She is the only vocal artist known to me who reaches on that superior level of artistic contribution.
Another illustration of her unique artistic contribution can be found in her interpretation of Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, where, after mimicking the sound of the owl in the woods, she pronounces the word owl itself.

Jordan has released multiple digital singles, two EPs, and one album called It's Magic. She appeared on the first season of Little Big Shots in 2016, and the second season of America's Got Talent: The Champions in 2020, where her original version of Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody" brought her much attention.

2014: From Norway's Got Talent to My Christmas Edit
After Jordan's performances of two Billie Holiday songs, "Gloomy Sunday" and "I'm a Fool to Want You", on Norway's Got Talent, as well as "Fly Me to the Moon" on a TV talk show, all went viral online in March 2014, she was featured in Time,[1] Daily Mirror,[2] People,[5] and other news outlets around the world.[6] She continued in the competition singing Nancy Sinatra's version of "Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down)" live in the semifinals,[7] and won with her performance of George Gershwin's "Summertime", in the style of Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong's 1958 recording of the song.
In September 2014, she performed "Fly Me to the Moon" on the US television show The View,[8] bringing her wider fame in the United States. She also performed on several TV 2 programs in Norway over the next few years, including multiple appearances on Allsang på Grensen (Singalong at the Border, referring to the border fortress of Fredriksten where outdoor concerts are held) and on TV4 in Sweden.
Jordan had a small guest role in the final episode of the Netflix series Lilyhammer, playing a girl who sings in a bar.[9]
In December 2014, she realized a personal ambition by performing for Peace Prize recipients Malala Yousafzai and Kailash Satyarthi at the Nobel Peace Prize Concert.[10]
Jordan's recording debut, the three-song maxi-single My Christmas, was released in December 2014.[11] To support the release, Jordan performed the songs on multiple TV shows, including an appearance on Christmas Day.
2015-2019: UA-cam channels, The EP, It's Magic Edit
In 2015, Jordan began recording music that would eventually be collected on the six-song Angelina Jordan - The EP, released on 27 November 2017.[12] Many of the tracks were posted to her official UA-cam channel[13] well in advance of the EP release, in the form of music videos and lyric videos. These included her covers of Screamin' Jay Hawkins' "I Put a Spell on You", the music video for which was directed by Per Heimly, and Amy Winehouse's "Back to Black", in which Jordan sang her own original lyrics. These two music videos became the most popular videos on her official UA-cam channel, surpassing 5 million views each by 2020. In 2017, she created a second UA-cam channel specifically to present performances of cover songs.[14]
In November 2015, Jordan published the book Mellom to hjerter (Between Two Hearts), illustrated by her grandmother, Iranian artist Mery Zamani.[15] The book tells the story of her meeting a poor motherless girl in Asia who has no shoes. After a long conversation in which they discuss their dreams in life, she gives the girl her shoes and the girl promises to pray for Jordan to fulfill her dream to become a successful singer. According to Jordan the book is based on a real incident which she cites as the reason for always performing barefoot.[16]
In April 2016, Jordan performed "Fly Me to the Moon" on the first season of the noncompetitive children's talent show Little Big Shots.[17] A year later she performed "What a Difference a Day Makes" on the UK version of the show. She also performed "I Put a Spell on You" on the German edition of the show, Little Big Stars, in 2017.
In December 2016, she performed on Alan Walker is Heading Home, a live concert broadcast from Bergen, Norway, where she sang Walker's songs "Sing Me to Sleep" and "Faded".[18]
On 15 June 2018, a full album of recordings with Staff Band of the Norwegian Armed Forces (Forsvarets stabsmusikkorps), called It's Magic, was released.[19] The next day, Jordan and the band performed the full album live in a concert attended by Norway's Prime Minister.
On 27 June 2018, Jordan performed "Fly Me to the Moon" for Quincy Jones in The O2 Arena in London, as part of his 85th birthday celebration, and also joined with other singers to perform "Man in the Mirror" to close the show.[20][21]
2019-2020: America's Got Talent, "Bohemian Rhapsody", and Republic Records Edit
In 2019, Jordan performed for former president Barack Obama and other public figures at the Brilliant Minds conference in Stockholm.
In October 2019, she competed in the second season of America's Got Talent: The Champions, which was aired in January and February 2020.[22] Her first appearance on the show, singing an original arrangement of Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody", received a "golden buzzer" from judge Heidi Klum (meaning that Jordan would pass directly into the finals). As with her Norway's Got Talent audition six years earlier, a video of Jordan's performance began to go viral on UA-cam, quickly reaching 10 million views.[23] The performance also garnered praise from Queen's official Twitter account.[24] Shortly afterwards, the video was taken down[23] and Jordan released a studio version of the same arrangement under her own copyright.[25] Jordan's second performance (in the finals), a similarly reworked "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" based largely on a version by Sara Bareilles, was also well received, but she was not among the top 5 acts.
In August 2020, Jordan's manager (her uncle, Michael Astar) announced that she had signed with Republic Records.[3] Her first single on the label, "Million Miles", was released on 6 November 2020, on all major digital platforms.[4] An official lyric video was posted to her official UA-cam channel the same day.[26] The track was produced by the Norwegian duo Stargate, who also co-wrote the song with Jordan.[27]
Jordan was born in Oslo, Norway, and has lived for extended periods both there and in Los Angeles. She also lived for a time in the Middle East. She has a younger sister who was featured in one of her music videos. Winter in Norway. When she was 6 and met a poor girl in the street of a war-torn
town in the mid-east, she noticed the girl had scarred feet and no shoes. She gave the
girl her own shoes and told her grandmother that she has vowed to never wear shoes
when performing to bring attention to all those in the world who don't have a simple
pair of shoes. You know, Mother Teresa once said, 'God hath no greater love than for
those who come to the aid of a stranger in desperate need'. Well, I believe from that
God decided to bless her with this unbelievable talent from that day forward. She has
already raised many millions of dollars in charity concerts world wide. Mother Teresa
is definitely smiling down from heaven, that's another certainty.

Great reaction Miki! Let me say that I am not a fan of James Brown. I've never cared for anything he has sung, including this song. There have been many covers of this song, and I like them all better than his original. I like Diana's version a lot. But this performance by Angelina is by far the best this song has ever been done (IMO), and it's really the first time I truly loved this song. I think the crowd is still clapping. You are so right about the brightness in her voice in this song. I love it. But lets not forget that she can sing dark as well.
