Loving these opening specific speedruns!! It would be helpful if you could also put chapters into the video for the start of each game. Sometimes i want to refer back to a game you mention in the beginning but have a hard time finding it

Loving the Slav! Struggled for years against QG. Semi-slav too passive, QGD cramped and horrible, Indian defenses too theoretical and with unnatural moves that surrender the center. This has been perfect for me (circa 1550) and finally feeling comfortable against the QG. Thanks, Alex!

30:34 Instead of Bb1, Nxc2 is mate in one. Thanks for the entertaining games!

Same here mate! He's got a great way of explaining everything so it makes it easy for me to implement the strategies into my games.

The faux R sac with the pin, forcing the Q to recapture and thus winning the B on h6, was new to me, and I played the Pirc for years.

You have succeeded in moving me from the Franco-Tarrasch pawn structure to the Caro-Slav structures, but my weirdo question is this: is there an efficiency element in training for a Black system as White, by playing 1.a3, and playing that Black system, Caro or Slav? Or am I needlessly complicating things?

      If you intend to play reversed CK or reversed Slav, instead of 1. a3, a better and more flexible option is Saragossa 1. c3. (Just an example: 1. c3 e5 2. d4 and after 2. .. Nf6 we have reversed CK after 3. h3 which prepares Bf4. 1. c3 d5 2. d4 Nf6 3. Nf3 c5 is going to be reversed Slav.)

The slav you can play as white, it's called the colle. If you start with c3 black might play E5 and you get a reversed caro

Hi alex. Plz make more slav videos. They are disproportionately less in comparison to caro videos

Is the Slav very similar to the Caro advanced variantion?

What if they go e4 instead of E3 in your first game? Same moves or different?

It’s a different game. A good example was featured in this video: ua-cam.com/video/L_vNiVbm7g4/v-deo.html
