Soo... What you're telling me is... The armor I've made for cosplay can be shrunk down and put on a doll? It's that easy? Holy crap. My eyes have been opened. And I have so much fun foam just laying around >w>
Ixaix Sushiroll, I recently got into the whole cosplay thing and when I saw how armor was made I was like, OMG this is how dollightful made doll armor. And coming back to this video with that knowledge I literally went in the comments just to see if anyone realized that cosplayers make armor the same way.
@@phoenix_raven91 foam technique of often used to make armor in cosplay. Of course there's difference because of the size and weight, different rules to keep in mind. Theres video on UA-cam showing how to do it life sized.
@@bigzaria while possible, it's like any art based career where it's very hard and unlikely you can live off of it (if you just want s couple of bucks here and there then sure, that's an easier task). Keep making, producing and sharing and see where life takes you! Just dont get discouraged and be patient. I know some people make and sell custom armor, some have a patron and release tips and tutorials, others do modeling.
Due to watching your videos, I really want to start doll customizing. I'll probably have to collect materials for a while though, instead of just splurging. It's something I've always liked, but your easy to follow tutorials really motivated me to wanna take it seriously. Hopefully, one day in the future, I'll have a doll to show! You're such an inspiration!
I am starting too! I just went to Michael's to get some cheap supplies for now. And if I'm good I will invest in some of the more expensive tools and supplies.
4:00 LOL I love the dramatic drying poses, haha. The tiny spiked skulls are so cute! I thought they were from a mold at first. And the use of snaps to attach armor and the quiver is so, so simple, but so brilliantly effective! This is so cool! In all honesty, this is just a scaled-down version of cosplay armor, which I'm somewhat familiar with, so it's less intimidating for me to consider trying. I seriously adore how this turned out! She looks so cool!!
My husband who isn't a crafter watched almost the whole video in awe of your skills. I love it! Your methods are pretty much the same as building foam armor (with thicker EVA foam) for a full sized human! I built Sonya's armor (the Barb from Diablo 3 and HotS) for myself last year for a Con. I also just finished building Zelda armor for an 18 inch doll plus her dress.
I kid you not, you inspired me to start making OOAK dolls. I've had mine for a few months because I didn't know what to do. Then I got inspired, and then I see you did this tutorial and it directly correlates to what I am making. You just get me!
Man, it's amazing how you went from a bunch of materials you can find at any craft store into something totally amazing! I'm completely in awe at the work you do ♥
She looks fantastic! You really deserve more subscribers with your talent and quality of videos. It's clear you make these dolls with care. I always get excited seeing a new video from your channel in my subscriptions.
This is unbeliveable. Some people may think, like, "this girl is just snooping around with dolls" but you are so talented and that allows you to do literally everything, and your skills are on point. You are amazing
********* Sooooooo CooooooooooooooL! I am SO going to put on my "big girl pants" one day and try and make something like these!!! You are SO talented... AWESOME!! ************ :--------->
Although I don’t do doll art stuff but this still actually helped me! You showed me that fun foam can be shaped into different shapes with candles which helped me with my other arts and crafts. So thanks!
Miniature brads from the scrapbooking section are your friend when it comes to making armor joints, as well as anything where you need something that looks like a tiny rivet.
I'm a cosplayer and use Fun foam (it's called EVA in 🇧🇷) for props, but I never thougth it could be used to a doll acessories! That's why I admire your work! You always amazed me!
In one short video you changed my life; this helps so much!! It looks so professional, too, even with easier materials! Thank you so much for sharing with us!!!
I usually don't leave comments on youtube, but I have to say that the work you're doing with these dolls in absolutely stunning!! I've wanted to do the same thing for so long, with Monster High and Pullip dolls, and your channel has really inspired me to actually go through with it! Thanks for helping to not let that dream of sewing doll outfits and customizing dolls die out in me :)
Make your own feathers! Brilliant!!! I'm in the process of a Hippogriff MLP Custom and I was scratching my head on how to make the wings the way I wanted them. I tried to use real feathers and that was a disaster. Also as a FYI you can make your own Puffy paint using cheap dollarstore paint, glue and cornstarch. It works really well - I applied it to my MLP Custom using some of my silicone sculpting tools and it also could be sanded if there were any imperfections. Love it.
Aw that sounds so cute already! Your MLP is going to be adorable~ ❤ No kidding? I'll have to keep that in mind. :D Although the stuff is pretty cheap already to be honest.
I've come very late to this artform. It's amazing to see so many beautiful costumes and repaints. You, in particular, are so talented and generous. Thank you for sharing!
i made my first doll today in a fit of inspiration, and although i didnt need any of your videos as i focus more on polymer clay, your videos are so relaxing that i listened in the background the whole time! thanks for your videos!
You inspired my 9 year old daughter as well as myself, she has dug out a bunch of older dolls she was going to get rid of just so she can make armor for them. Thanks, you managed to get her to look up from her tablet and do something else.
so ive been watching videos on here like crazy trying to figure out how to make doll shoes... i didn't expect to find what i was always looking for in this video... but i did. i would have never knew you could mold this stuff... i have so many ideas now! thank you
the level of detail you put into this is amazing, and it looks great too! it's cool to see a sylvanas doll even though i've really seen her in HoTS and not WoW, she has a pretty neat character design. i look forward to seeing the process of her face being painted!

I am so glad I found this! I have plans to make the characters I run in SWTOR, including a Mandalorian and a couple armored Force users. This is so useful to me as a beginning customizer with plans that are way too big ❤
