#Shpongle
In my 43 years of life I listened to uncountable hours of music from different styles and genres. And I have to say: The performances by the Shpongle Live Band are the greatest works of music I ever heard. That sound is chilling, thrilling, mind-blowing, psychedelic and... just great. Thank You Simon and Ronald and Michelle and Abigail and Joe and Pete and all the other great musicians who donated such a phantastic cultural impact to the history of humankind. I hope so much Red Rocks was NOT the last time...
❤
Love is the only word that matters. And your appreciation is GORGEOUS.
check out " Beats Antique " if you like Shpongle - very similar vibe - yet totally different =D Mind blowing music experience - amazing performance and one of a kind sound
@@OwlPsalm Not even close. Minor league
I always compared Shpongle to Mozart
I was here. This is the closest thing I could say I've had to a religious experience.
same!!
#same
I wasn't there and i had one as well.
Fortnum Sound they are on drugs.
You are no fun
Same. It was one of the best experiences of my life.
I have been succesfully Shpongled
VEE3RDEYE sadly not because that was their last show ever especially with raja ram. Now only Simon posford is touring which isn’t actually sphongle:/
Uaaauu
Muito bom!

I swear Raja is gonna be 112, still playing that flute on 1000ug looking like a psychedelic Dumbledore
Ha! I like that, psychedelic Dumbledore lmao
@@zacharywerner9395 or gandolf. Either seem appropriate to me lol
And the whole LoTR is actually about Gandalf tripping balls while running around the old peoples home :D

I want to see shpongle at the SPHERE! ASAP!!!
call me a dad rock band form the 90's cause with the dead that would change Americas collective soul
I really want to see a show, but they announced their last shows back in 2019 I think. They don't tour anymore because Raja is getting too old; at least that's the prevailing theory
Wow.. Insane idea 🔥 I’m so down for that
In My 53 years of being Alive there have been very Few bands that Really Speak to Me, and I just discovered this Band Sphongle, and It Speaks To Me, A Lot!!! Reminds Me of the Lysergics I Ingested in the 1980's. Hahahahahahaha 😂!!!
Percussionist deserves highest praise. That man took everything Shpongle had to offer on the chin
Joe Russo, ladies and gentlemen
Yeah I discovered joe russo through this concert. Check out his stuff. It's all beautiful.
That is the great Joe Russo on Drums! Played with Furthur a Dead band. Now has his own band.
Fabulous
That’s Joe Russo he’s also in a Grateful Dead cover band called Russos almost Dead!
Number one, Numero Uno on the bucket list. See Shpongle Live!!!
this was their last show unfortunately :( I wanted to see them as well.

One Hour 25 minutes in and My Mind is Blown away by how Good this Is!!!
Raja Ram. Please live for ever❤️
I just discovered Shpongle randomly a couple weeks ago on UA-cam and I am so glad that I did. I would like to mention Kitaro and also The Orb. If you have never heard of them and you like this Music you should definitely check them out...
I don't think we'll ever see a project like this again. Very rare just to see a band this large playing at Red Rocks. Composing and mixing all the elements: organic, digital, visual, human, and alien, is massively impressive both creatively and technically. Silly psychedelic with professional precision.
Unique, in the true sense of the word.
Thievery Corporation might compare in terms of being a large, complicated orchestration.. they might not have the same level of showmanship and theatre but for sheer musical delivery Thieves is always my favorite show at Red Rocks
Agreed. I'm 21 and just started listening to this band I feel I greatly missed out.
Play this at my funeral.
What I like about Shpongle is that I just discovered them 2 weeks ago and have been doing a Deep Dive, and It's All Good. Do you hear what I am Saying?!
Tripping on this set is godlike! Hit Like if you are tripping rn! :D
I cant put it in to words how mesmerising trippin on this set is its indescribable i feelt like the music took over my body completely.
The commercials completely destroy the vibe it's beyond distracting it's heartbreaking
adblock plus :)
I know what you mean. If I hit the Lottery I will pay for some ad blocker...
We watched this on acid last night, bunch of guys in our sixties, 12 hours later still tripping I came back to watch that drummer alone who drives the entire thing like a madman. Thought I was hallucinating when he was playing in a pink gorilla suit and I had to ask. Just amazing drumwork again, he's definitely the pivot for the entire thing just grooving along.
watching this on shrooms is a life-changing experience
Though I wasn’t at this show, I did see them at the Oregon Eclipse Festival in 2017. The very best show I’ve ever been to. Shpongle holds a special place in the psychedelic subculture. Nothing else so perfectly embodies the beauty of it all.
And the Live Production who did the live production of this, give him and or her a Raise...
Amazing San Francisco listening 2024 n forever
I saw Shpongle in Santa Cruz CA a few years ago (Sans Raja Ram) and man, it was such an incredible experience!
This is an art performance. Comparable to cirque du soleil. It is now on my bucket list to see them perform live at least once.
This was the last Shpongle show to be performed by the whole band ever ever. You might be able to see Simon perform solo though. Good luck
@@quinoa555 Are you sure?? Shpongle is listed in Ozora 2021, with Raja's attendance, he has a couple of other performances scheduled for 2021... Please give source for that claim!!!
@@TsvetyDim I also consider this an expression of art on par with cirque du soleil! But I'm sorry to say, sadly it's true.. This was the last full show of Shpongle.. Simon himself said this would be the last time the whole band would perform together, as it's a huge headache preparing and organising so many session musicians for an occasional gig and they don't make any money from it. He will still play with a few live performers though, vocals/raja/percussion.
@@TsvetyDim yes dj set or live set, but never again with the whole band
THIS SMASHES CIRQUE DU SOLEIL!
I just learned of this group. I would travel almost anywhere to see them. Get a tour or even a small set of shows going again, one time!
It has been no more than 5 minutes since I've discovered Shpongle via this video, and it is making me feel trippin!
Welcome 💗🧬🌟
If you haven't already check out the album tales of the inexpressible by them. It's my favorite.

Best shrooms-come-down, ever...in musical history 🤩💫🌈🪐✨🔥🤗😌🥰
This was the best show I've ever been to, it was 3 days before finals for college and I had to drive 18 hours round trip but this was the closest I've ever had to a truly spiritual experience, I don't think there will be another show that can match this one. Truly a blessing that I was able to be there for this show.
Mandou bem
hahuahuahuaah
I felt the same after seeing roger waters presents: the dark side of the moon LIVE and in person.
❤
Any master is worth experiencing, when they put it all on display.
The videos do NOT do this concert justice at all. This was such a wild night - I'll never forget!
this was the best night of my life
58 minutes in, This is a Whole New Level!!!
This helped me with an intense mushroom experience recently. Used this beautiful music to keep some frightening voices in my head at bay. I was questioned why I was there and why I was just watching? I said I was just passing through but it was the point of no return. Thanks Shpongle for saving what is left of my loving mind! Peace Family!
And that Black Egyptian Hashish, I could only get my hands on it for two weeks. Decades Later I still dream about that Hash...
I cried tears of euphoria during the opening, gawked in Shpongled amazement through it, and cried again at the end. Nothing short of stunning - a true masterpiece performance that will be remembered in highest regard by so many
What were you on?
@@masterblob7196 you could say I was juggling molecules
Total sentido kkkk
You said it all man!
it's as if all the best artists of every known genre of music and Cirque du Soleil had a baby. It's perfect.
I went both nights with my family and had the best time of my life. It was beyond epic. Shpongle was the soundtrack to my twenties. And it remains a solid ally as I get closer to middle age.
WHAT!!! it took me 53 years to find this party!!! time to catch up
I think it's time for another Shpongle show at Red Rocks!!!! C'mon!
raj is too old. no more shpongle live shows. Simon's playing DJ sets at the Fillmore in October tho. The DJ sets are just as fun imo, since he can weave 2 shpongle songs together and hit you with them all at once.
@@newa0nn This is true! Already got my ticket for Oct 28 :)
WOW... I want that painting on my wall... too much modern art in one show. I love cirque du soleil... but this show is more amazing! Thank you! Gracias! spaciba, danke, merci, obrigado... people all over the world.
experiencing this show on shrooms right now! what an life changing , Iam so grateful 🙏 words cannot express what I am feeling right now ❤ love you guys ❤
Usually I have the attention span of a Gnat, but I have been listening to this for 1 hour and twenty minutes, that says Something...
I have been to several live acts of Shpongle but this one in Red Rocks is the most psychodelic definition of music and art I have ever seen. Absolute awesomeness 😍
Ok...I am.................3hours in...but only 44 minutes into this video . Bravo, Shpongo🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣Bravo, SHPONGLE!!!!🤩🤩🤩🤩
Incredible. I couldn't believe they played this live the music is complex and incredibly arranged
For about 20 yrs listening Shpongle. Unbelievable. Grew up on Floyds, LED Zepp, Beatles and so on and this kind of music came to me as a continue of my fantastic music journey... Thanks a lot to everyone 🙏
Man I found a Sphongle CD at the thrift store one day, best CD ever. So freaking trippy I love it so much ❤
This show is just genius! Every time I watch it, I find another gold nugget! A feast for all the senses. Thank you!
It's SO good to SEE You again.
Thank You! This is so precoius...
Joe Russo is THE MAN!
Curiosity brought me here, I haven't used or listened to any Shpongle in ages. Glad to see Raja Ram is still kickin! Cool to see a bunch of people just discovering them within the past few years. Check out Ott, Younger Brother(Posfords project) and 1200 mics(Rams project). These guys had a rather large impact on the way I view music full spectrum 15 years ago. Creatively your taste may move to genre's you'd never dream of dabbling in.. new age.. Deep Forest lol. When you start translating and sampling dead language's you know you've got that psytrance itch 😆.
Younger Brother is great project indeed!
@@resistenzainutile amen...earlier stuff is an absolute lock....a must have if you like psy beats
you havent used any sphongle lately lol
Check out Celtic Cross if you haven't heard Simon's 4th side project
Ram is nirvana . Aum 🙏
Shpongle is a work of art, i have been listening to them for 20 years.
Only learned about Shpongle two years ago and fell in love with their music. Some might say you need to be on something to enjoy this, and when I discovered it I was in an altered state of mind, but it opened up my mind to how to get lost inside your mind through music alone and from then on I've been Shpongled ever since.
Would've loved to be able to see this performance live.
I showed my parents shpongle and they are lifelong sober people. They just call it "world music/psychedelic rock stuff" and always seem to enjoy it!
After hearing "Epiphany of Mrs. Kulga," haven't been the same since.
People who say you need drugs to wnjoy it are trash junkies and nothing else. People who need drugs be have an altered mind are cheating meditation and wasting the actual useful substances on their narcisstic setting towards our universe and consciousness
@@inverovenevectum6857 True, but the word "need" is key there. It's fine to get fucked up every once in a while and screw anyone that judges another person for that. The way you talk makes you sound like a "know it all" hippie dbag trying to push your way of thinking on others.
I remember the exact feeling of that 'Alice in Wonderland' lost feeling the first time i feel down the rabbit hole behind my eye lids. There is no better guiding music than Shpongle for those times.
This live sound gives the album a fresh sound. And the visuals are hypnotizing.
I watched Alex Grey paint live to Schpongle in Oz a few years ago...much acid was had...the picture was swimming...it was alchemy witnessed live...amazing experience
I saw him and his wife paint at Bicycle Day with Shpongle ^_^ so much amazing art there.
Interessante
Shoowww
I met Alex after he and Allison made a presentation on psychedelic art in Sydney. They painted onstage! I got an autograph in his COSM book ❤️
❤
This is like a real dmt trip, loved it.
I've been Shpongled for over a decade now... don't regret a thing
I found my way here from a Quintessence video. So pleasing to see Raja Ram is still making hypnotic music decades after I saw them in Lancaster UK way back in the late 60's early 70's. I still have an 'LP' of theirs up in my attic. I'm going to go land ook for it now.
Did you find it?
@@lcuw11Sadly, no, but it was fun experiencing all the memories as I flicked through the many LP sleaves looking for it.
@@tonyharrison954 I bet it was! I did a little google searching it looks like they are a few LPs for sale floating around the web
This was a dream come true. I flew all the way from Florida to Oregon to see live shpongle after a total solar eclipse, but it wasn't the full band. I'm so glad i got to see them live with the full band playing live, it's been on my bucket list since 04
I'm quitting getting high I love music so much.
And you are the best player I've ever seen.
In many ways..
I know for a fact
What a wonderful night it was! Thank you very much, everyone!!!
I had two polish fellows dancing by my side. They came to US just for a few days to see two nights of the show and go back home! Now that's some dedication! ;-)
True artists of music. Thank you all for putting yourself out there in such expressive and honest forms.
Love Raja, he's full of beans for his age!
I've replayed this so many times, that intro is legendary
2:17:38 - 2:18:55 blew my mind away. I'm speechless. It feels so amazing to visit Shpongleland again.
see Shpongle LIVE. its worth it.
Its own genre. What an unforgettable creation. Omni-potent spirit jazz....
Shout Out to the Horn arrangements I really liked that...
Shpongle = Instant Goosebumps
Thank you all for all your efforts and dedication🙏
Most original band I have seen in years. Great music. Great show. Love you guys. I've been totally Shpongled.
Was fortunate enough to travel for both nights from the UK, saved for a year as I hadn't seen Shpongle live. Felt I needed to see Raja at least once before a much deserved retirement (he is 78) what a legend!
From the moment you start the trek up the stairs to the stage - the magic starts, the pure energy of the place is palpable, if only those rocks could speak (although to some they may have). by nightfall Denver city is reminiscent of a sea-bed of stars twinkling in the ether beneath you.
The only down point was my weed being taken (naively thought drug policy in Denver allowed it), in the end it wasn't required. Not least due the huge amounts of DMT in the air... Mostly, however, it was the pure energy and love coming from the stage.
Danced like a loon, lost my footing more than once but didn't care. Just laughed at myself and continued...
"huge amounts of DMT in the air"
o.o ......really??
@@fyighfreak yes
UPPPPPP
I remember the burnt plastic smell on both nights😄
Good on you my man, I also fly over from the UK to see Phish (65 shows and counting!). Unfortunately I only discovered Shpongle after they stopped playing live, but I did get to see Shpongle’s drummer Joe Russo at Red Rocks. Hope to see you at a show sometime, it’s always funny when I meet another Brit on tour!
This is changed my life. Thank you. I needed this just like water in the desert ❤
I listen to an insane amount of music, and I have never enjoyed an album more on the first listen or ever than when I just listened to Codex VI today. It was my first time listening to Shpongle and it immediately became my favorite piece of music, even art, ever. Ive listened to two other albums of theirs and Vaccine Electronic by Younger Brother and this concert. Shpongle is the perfect embodiment of something I have been searching for for the past three years, and I can’t even quite describe what it is.
I have even more appreciation for Joe Russo after seeing this. I don’t know who else could’ve “livened” the electronic beats like this. Look at the grin on his face as he starts a new groove at 1:04:24
the sound quality of this recording is just fantastic
I have to disagree, although it is good I believe it's pretty poor compared to other live performances. Check out the 2013 London gig.
Wow, what a concert ... I wish I would have seen this live.
Next time I drink Ayahuasca, I want this set playing
Amazing set, but I regret not being here live
Museum of Consciousness is my Business Lunch soundtrack
Love your vibe, brother
❤
Omg total bucket list
I straight up bawled when I heard the subtle notes of Invisible Man in a Fluorescent Suit. That song was my first I'd heard back in 2007, and I've been Shpongled since!
What an amazing night. Simon needs to do a live band show at Red Rocks every year. It should become Red Rocks tradition.
Yes!! Especially since that's the ONLY place in the US we will ever get to see all the musician magicians together 😭
Too bad this was their last whole band performance EVER! But I agree nonetheless.
God: "Alexa, play some workout music."
Wow. Yeah
You legend
Thanks for the medication...
Ill never forget both of those nights. front row night one was astounding
Perfect to listen to while tripping; very calm and even
Когда слушаешь альбом не советую куда то ехать)
We were there! 💗💗💗 thank you for all the years of musical majic. We had the best time! Hoping you'll do more projects and bring on younger brother to the US.
25:10 As both a Twin Peaks fan and a Shpongle fan I almost fell off the chair when they played Laura Palmer's Theme 🤩
This was the most incredible, powerful thing I've ever been a part of. I flew across the Atlantic for it, and I would swim it just to experience this again.
Boaaa
haha, so cool!
love and greetings from germany... :-)
❤
This was my favourite show ever at Red Rocks, I’m from the Scotland but live in Denver now - he was supposed to be headlining for STS9 last night at Red Rocks (7/23/21) but had issues with the visa to come here … I was a great show but he was sorely missed and that would have been amazing 💜
wow Leo P and Shpongle is the combo i never knew i needed until now :0
Ooooh ..... my ...... fucking......god!!! These guys are GEEEEENIOOOUS!!!! I cannot freak enough, as how much they're plucking every single shit out and into my heart and mind...... THESE ...... GUYS ......ARE ....... FANTASTIC!!! ❤❤❤
God damn why is Shpongle so magical?? I'm so happy I found these guys
And that Acoustic guitar, Yes!
This is art for the love of it. Pure art. How can all these performers get paid? All the stage crew
By buying some shpongle albums or donating directly, buying tickets etc.
first time in my life that I cried simply by listening to music, this music literally made me cry.
Frank Zappa says hell yea
I ate a Magic truffle before and i am having a realy good Time, i have no words to Say how grateful i am to enjoy this pure magical moment, thanks you love you shpongle 🙏🌺🌌
Never thought i would be into this kind of music but this is sick! Definitely gonna trip and chill out to this sometime
Same, actually hated it when I first started tripping. Now I can’t stop getting shpongled haha, I don’t even trip as much anymore but this makes me want to take a few tabs and get lost in the music.
Can recommend mush and dmt
Just discovered these guys! What an epic performance. Outstanding.
This is the capture of the universal frequency I feel emotionally and spiritually enlightening. Thank you for your contribution to the beauty I am blessed to have witnessed in my journey!
Got a contact high from this video.
Was an absolutely magical night. Glad to be able to rewatch it properly now!
