Somewhere I saw an interview with I can't remember if it was James or Lars when they were trying to form a band. He said, they were were walking down a street in California and heard this crazy guitar sound comming from an establishment then walked in to see Cliff shreading on the bass. Right then they knew they needed him. The next 2 were great, but couldn't hold a candle to Cliff. He was the Hendrix of the bass. RIP my good man.
