Great to see and hear Joe Ely and his fabulous band from this period, with Ponty Bone on accordian, Lloyd Maines on steel and Jesse Taylor wailing on lead guitar. Grateful for the opportunity. 8>
I only got ti see Joe in person twice.... Once was at Fat Dawgs in Lubbock when Jesse Taylor the joint... ....and once around the 80-85 time period ...in the Old Lubbock Collesium.. I think he was up from Austin...that was the hottest jam I was ever heard....the whole crowd was so revved that I thought the whole crowd.. several thousand was gonna get arrested !!.. I got off about midnight at the airport...thought I had missed Joe , Lloyd, Jesse....but oh no...they were just gettin cranked up....!! WOW !! We need you guys now

Gotsa to luv that Cajun and Zyddeco stuff. These are musicians AND music makers.
Joe brings country, blues and R+R together to make his own brand of roots music. Petty sure he has some Townes and Doug Sahm DNA in him.
the story goes joe gave towns a ride once and townes gave him a record.
I LOVE it!! Classic Joe. Thanks for posting this :).
AMAZING!! Thank you for posting!
the category should be air, as in without it you can't live.
