    Hi Paul
10Gbit at home :-) That is also on my wishlist,,
    I'd like a 48port 1Gbit but with 2 or 4 10Gbit uplink ports switch,, to start with.
I have added your channel as a Featured channels, on my channel,, you make some good relevant videos, for us nerds :-)

    8-port 10Gbit, cost ~800.
Money well invested, I recently upgraded my setup from consumer router to pfsense + 1Gbit switch (unmanaged). I'd have gotten a managed vut the budget didn't cut it.

The first power cord was a UK one - the EU one you pulled out with the US one ;)

Some routers require you to use the Configuration CD to setup the unit NETGEAR is one and BELKIN is the other.

Netgear is shying away from that. The xs708e was a full blown Windows App managed device. With the xs708ev2 they went back to web managed, thankfully.

Nice sound test. Wish you could do the same with some of the high end qnap nas like the tvs-1282t

I would too! Perhaps I'll make new contacts this year at VMworld, see:

Thank you, very helpful to me. I saw but couldn’t read all the netgear switches in that ad they included, I need this switch in a 24-28 size-do you know which model that is, I can’t figure it out. Thanks.

I don't believe such a switch exists, at least not by Netgear.

That would be well annoying after a while if you’re in the same room as it. Surely they could make a quieter one.

Nice video. Can you try this on Ubiquiti ES-16-XG once it comes out.

Wow, that's unfortunate, but thanks for letting me know. How about the $250 2 10GbE port ASUS? TinkerTry.com/asus-xg-u2008-announced-at-249-with-2-10gbe-8-1gbe

Not really seeing the point of 8 port gig with two 10ge uplinks ,considering you can get cheapie 24 port gig switch's these days

Im really keen to see mobos replaced with 2 intel gig nics with 2 or 1 5GB nics or two 2.5gb nics over cat6a

So it does quiet down eventually?

    • @TinkerTry
      @TinkerTry  7 років тому

Yeah, takes a while to boot, then gets quieter. Not a lot of 10GbE choices under $1000, see:

Why do you not say where do you buy it and what do you pay for the internationally version? Do you works as payed tester? No one buy a 10 GBit/s Switch just for fun ...
