Then of course there was Sir Richard Hadlee, who averaged around 17 - 18 for his LAST 35 odd tests. Incredibly great bowler.

He was and that period also saw 3 Other great match winning all rounders.Richard's greatness was his consistency in bowling which was stifling the batsmen and getting them out if their technique is not good.Of the 4, I felt he was the one who could have played little more as he was at his highest powers even on that day he retired.A true NZ legend in my life time

Not many seem to realize how good is Bumrah's strike rate, its 43. Among the great bowlers only one with that kind of SR is Dale Steyn. Imo Strike rate is more indicative of how lethal the bowler is in Test cricket, much more than the average as it tells you how fast they are taking the wickets !

Burman is an all time great, irrespective of when he calls it quits.. Marshall, Garner, Holding, Akram, Younis, Ambrose, Walsh. Lille, McGrath... They would be proud in the company of Bumrah.. They are greats..stats are irrelevant for their greatness. Game is richer for having them.

@KalluriSridevi-cn1ot you have so many scars of Australia. They are not the barometer of greatness anymore. They are the India of 2000s and 2010s.. very solid, expected to dominate at home...but not great like Border/Taylor/Waugh/Ponting/Clarke teams.. Jaiswal may be better, but Raxhin has delivered when it matters more often.. Jaiswal is another inferior..he just needs to deliver ..it could be those two genuinely battling for top spot. I've nothing bad to say about either. Rachin has delivered more so far..but that doesn't mean Jaiswal isn't or cannot.

Looking forward to this series, home team on a high and with Kane coming in,lot more assurance in their strengths and an exciting young talent in O'Rourke where as England is still looking unsettled in their bowling unit, few question marks on Ollie and even Stokesy whose captaincy is bit adrift.Nonetheless, huge line up of talents on both sides.Good that first test is not clsshing with what is going on in Australia.Bring ot on christchurch

Bhumrah is bigger than Tendulkar for what he has done ....the T20 WC has bhumrah written all over it.... unfortunately being a bowler and a country obsessed with batting he can never be at tht level.

At the Adelaide test match, the Australian team must demonstrate a more robust response. If the pink ball test is won by India, the BGT series is concluded. The task will be difficult for Australia if Rohit, Gill, KL, Jaiswal, Kohli, and Pant deliver collectively. 😊

5 tests is a big ask from pacers of both Australia and India. India need Shami later in the series to rest Bumrah at some point in the series, that applies to Australia also. It will be good if Australia brings in new faces in bowling, since 2018, the same bowling attack playing into the hands of India.
