- So it recently snowed here in Mcleodganj and Dharamkot! To make the most of my day, I went on an amazing hike starting from Mcleodganj to Dharamkot. And within Dharamkot, I visited Gannu Mata Temple, Eagle's Nest and Sunset Cafe! All amazing hidden gems of the place! :) The weather was too bad for Triund. Hope you enjoy the video.

I know a few of you already pointed it out, but putting it here in comments too. The temple in this video is called Gallu Mata Temple (and not Gannu Mata). :) I had a bad nasal condition at the time of making this video due to severe cold. So I kept pronouncing the name as "Gannu". Somehow that stick around till I edited the video. Haha! Anyway, hope you enjoy the video. Cheers!
Hey! Tanya Khanijow can you tell me the month when you went there because I went Mc leod ganj this year in March n I didn't find much snow !
I'm asking this because I'm gonna visit this place again !!!!

Anant Roy this was in Feb. But due to global warming, the place doesn't get as much snow anymore. The snowfall patters are really sporadic now. So i can't promise that you will witness snow when you visit. :(
Tanya Khanijow yes the locals said 2 years back it use to snow till Dharamshala but now you'll find a very little snow even in Triund.

as a local person, its great to have many tourists come to our place and enjoying the experience but we really hate it when they come and litter it like a garbage. over the years we have seen a large influx of tourists, specially from punjab. those who come as true hikers are more thoughtful but they are people who come just for weekends with big families and make the place a garbage by throwing waste everywhere. and to be honest now a days it has become an overhyped place with too much traffic and noise pollution from the honking of endless cars that line up the entire road. sorry but we sometimes feel like telling the tourists who are making this place a mess, "please go back, there is nothing we can offer here, no place is clean enough to take ur selfies now"
i think vloggers like you could be of great help by endorsing more about maintaining cleanliness as i am sure you must have also noticed the big trashcan of a place it has become now.
I have to agree. India needs to clean up its garbage mess. Educate people to stop throwing their garbage wherever they feel like it. Also this is also the government's fault. Where are all the public garbage cans and public garbage collection infrastructure. Indian needs to modernize not just in IT and business but sanitation, clean water, and no pollution.
Just curious has it improved or worsened after the Swatch Bharat Abhiyaan. Did it actually educate people or it failed in that particular regard?

Hey Tanya.I took my first solo trip to Mcleodganj when i was in 2nd year of Engineering.I was little scared at that time but i take the risk and it was all worth.It was a great fun and Learning experience.

I went to dharamshala 2 yrs back but in late June. Also hiked upto Triund. It was such a beautiful sight. Missed snowfall though 😥. Will hopefully visit again next year

Hi Tanya , I am your new subscriber and you have no idea how happy am i tosee Mcload Ganj in your videos i was born and brought up in Dharamshala and have done lots of hitch hiking. This brings back lot of great memories. I am not sure if you were able to cover Triund but it’s a must visit place and a bit further from there is Laam dal a hidden gem and heard it’s a beautiful place . I have never been to that place but soon i will be visiting
