The campground area by the church looks somewhat like the Methodist summer 15:02 gathering area in Ocean Grove, NJ. They have a huge, old wood auditorium that they hold concerts in. It’s a summer getaway place right near the ocean. Well worth seeing.
The Chattahoochee River that flows thru Helen. They have tubing that starts up river from Helen. Goes thru town and picks you up down river from Helen. It's a nice way to spend a summer afternoon. KUTGW
Back in the 70s I was with a carnival that played the Georgia mtns I had a food concession trailer and we were in a fair about 10 miles away so we decided to go see we might have been doing a few hallucinogens and when we came over the mtn we were freaked and when the cop dressed up in authentic German lederhosen I couldn't stop laughing he was a good cop and told me where the bar was that's where I found out about the story of the origins of the town
Helen was really slow while you were there. It must not have been Octoberfest yet. So sad that no German food was eaten. Maybe another time would be more fun. There are a few more waterfalls to see and state parks. Welcome to N GA. Such-es, much-es
The motorcycle riding in the north Georgia area, as stated, is fantastic. Caution must be used. The roads take no prisoneers and have many victims. EMS runs and helicopter flights are very common.
Bodensee German restaurant is the best place for German cuisine in Helen. Been going there for years when on vacation in the area. My wife’s parents are both German so she knows her German food! Almost as good as her cooking! Lol!
We have those style camps here in PA except the buildings are called bungalows and are used from April to October. People from all over the states own them and stay for months at a time.
The history of Helena , Georgia sounds identical to that of Leavenworth, Washington state. That got me wondering how many other states have a faux Bavarian tourist town?
Best music on UA-cam, love the intro song. I normally turn sound down because the music for UA-cam gives me a headache. Thank you Stay blessed and be safe out there.
Lo]....you forgot to say your out ‼️ Love the bike rides...we ride as well and its hit and missif ya find something good. But there is no such thing as a bad ride (those are my Dads words). We cant wait to load up our bike and ride north america. And i would never drink around the world with the Brits....lol..love them, but im afraid they would never find my body 😊
I'm surprised that a Church Affliated Campground is such a novelty to you guys. I've been all over this country and such places are in many states. Typically they tend to be rented out to other organizations during the year for conferences and retreats.
There is a double decker pedestrian bridge that crosses the Missouri River between Yankton SD. and Nebraska that has a lot of love locks hanging on the rails also. And it was the first bridge built that crossed the river to go from Canada to Mexico.
Camp Toccoa in north GA was our yearly week at church camp for youth (I'm a recovering Southern Baptist) And yes the Methodist have campgrounds all over that go idle & I used them for girl scouts, as a leader. Helen has Unicoi park (another one of my GS spots) The creek tubing is more like a lazy river & I advise to do around end of July (might be an option after that last white water raft outing ) See Helen at Christmas, but Dahlonega is much prettier at Christmas. Betty's Country Store, in Helen, is where I use to find atomic fireballs & Moonpie. I'm not sure if the Christmas Store reopened in Helen (history of arson with that story) but was always fun to walk thru. Thanks for taking along ! Sheila's on to you Todd, with that Southern twang 😁 Continued blessings, Wanda
That is bizarre! Those cabin like houses only used once a week in a year! How do they financially sustain that? Property tax, maintenance on the buildings, maintenance on the grounds …like that is just crazy! 🍻
I'm left handed and enjoy it, true. But my late wife who was right handed loved it as does my right handed brother. I fail to see the validity of your comment 😂

Lol that’s a fun story! Thanks for sharing
A lot of the area was used in the film Smoky and the bandit
Todd was correct on Helen history.

I've been there many times when the sidewalks we so jammed with people you could barely move. Beautiful when decorated for Christmas.

Great place - well done!

Growing up we went to church camp meeting three times a year. My father was a minister of a Holiness church.
Thanks for watching todays video - what part did you grow up in?
@@SwitchItUpLife Mansfield PA. Evangelical church camp is between Titisville and Meadville PA, northwest PA. Very conservative.
Awesome scenery. Good to get out and pick up some wind therapy on Donkey
Donkey was feeling a little neglected so it was time 😁
Love the revival place. It's a shame it only gets used 1x a year.
Great video. Some day we will make it over that direction. Safe travels
Sheila address his hair. Lol. Todd you’re so handsome your style is distracting. JS. Great vid. Safe travels.
Lol 😆 um he’s a grown man that makes his own hair appointments so we all just have to love him wild hair and all 🤪🤪 thanks for watching our journey!
Worry not. They did acknowledge it as "style". Kudos to anyone who can still grow enough to need it cut 😂
Scooter putt ... Life is Good..All N
Thanks for watching today!
Been there before and ate at the German restaurant. We stopped at the grist mill and my grandson almost stepped on a copperhead.
Oh my goodness!! That sounds terrifying!
Apple-aacha not apple-AAchen.
While I know you LOVE Talona Ridge, Helen Georgia looks like an alternative possibility for a huddle? Thanks for sharing! 🖖🏻😘👍🏻🙏🏻
It’s a great place to go visit while staying at Talona Ridge 😁 not too far!
The history of Helena , Georgia sounds identical to that of Leavenworth, Washington state. That got me wondering how many other states have a faux Bavarian tourist town?
That’s a great question 🤔🤔
Leavenworth Washington has a village just like this, Christmas is fantastic there.
We had a huddle there - but in the summer dang was it hot! But I bet it looks magical at Christmas!
Great video, your music is always inspiring.
I appreciate that!
I love Helen, GA. Can't wait to go back!
It’s a cute little spot for sure!
Love Helen. Spent our first anniversary there.
It’s a sweet little spot- someday I’d like it see it at Christmas
@@SwitchItUpLife anniversary is December 30 and it snowed. Beautiful during the winter

Hi from the EMAHIZERs!!!!! This was a really neat experience. I didn’t expect the village

We have been meaning to visit Helen when up at Talona but we haven't done it yet. Darn! We have to go back to Talona Ridge!
Hi from the Bimber's
👋
Leavenworth Washington also has a Bavarian village.

Well that’s a fun fact Tony thanks for sharing!
We love Todd’s history lessons.
All of them?? 🤷♀️🤷♀️🤪
@@SwitchItUpLife yep they all are very entertaining and informative 😵💫

Recovering Southern Baptist lol I love it -

Good questions!! Hope all is well with you up North!
$10 for parking in a small town would tell you it is a tourist trap.
Helen, GA has become a weirdo zone. Lefties love that place..... No longer a nice place to go for us on weekends...
