This video is so refreshing..I love the message you are sending. We don't need to over purchase and buy more crap that none of us need's. I have SO much Halloween decor as it is, and I get sucked into the FOMO of the season. Thank you for normalizing going into a store and leaving empty handed. We all need to be more thoughtful when it comes to our spending habits..especially in this economy where many are really struggling financially. 🎃✨️

Some of the stuff made me hesitate but I’m starting to recognize that these items may be meant to be included in a display with either blacklights or other lighting effects. So the neon painted headstone under a blacklight could be part of a pretty cool haunted pathway, and the disco ball cauldron in a set up with the right lighting and mist effects could look pretty sweet.
And all these Ouija things are kinda funny… also the names you use, Ouija Bat, Ouija Blanket. I figured the ouija bat is for squeaky messages from beyond and with the puija blanket you have to play Twister to use it…

That Witches Lair is my favorite line from Michaels this year. Last year my personal theme was "Literary Haunts" so Mary Shelly's Frankenstein, Bram Stoker's Dracula, Sleepy Hollow, Phantom of the Opera, Alice in WOnderland etc. A bust of Edgar Allen Poe or those tins of Mary Shelly and Poe to use for a tea station would have knocked me over LOL. I got them this year already. I cannot find where I placed them so may order them again...

Some of it Ive seen is creative and fun but 98% of what Ive seen it just a cheap, low thought combining of christmas and halloween things or just straight up Christmas colored in black or orange.

You showed the skeleton video and all I could think is Hobbit (even if the skull isnt quite right for a hobbit skull)!! He's so cute
13:48 okay so for the jack-o-lantern cauldrons I was thinking what to put in them and thought of the fake light up clouds people make from stuffing? Put stuffing in, overfilling andnmaybe spilling a little at the top, possibly have a tiny bit spilling from ones mouth as well, then a colored light in the center of all that fluff to make it look like a glowing bubbling over potion? Another option is to just cut a square of clear plastic from some packaging to line the inside of the face and so long as you arent putting a liquid in then it should be held back. The weight of the filling would hold the plastic in place so it would be easily removed to change things if you wanted. The plastic could also be painted so that if a light was put in a different color came out the front from the top.

You are definitely not jaded! I was making a similar comment to my husband this year, and have definitely bought FAR less than I usually would have! I have a few "really want" items that I cannot find in person yet, but beyond that, it's been mostly looking at things in the store, and walking out with little to nothing spent.
This hair and that giant bow remind me of Countess Castiglione for some reason. A huge compliment.

Love following along on your trips! I am always stunned at the STOCK in your stores. Michael's was such an eyeopener of what is missing here in Montana and sold out online. But on the rare occasion I luck out at one of our stores. Last years find, an enormous 2 ft. tall white skull carved with flowers all over at Ross of all places. Once in awhile a treasure right?! And I totally agree with you on quantity and less quality and I too take my time and pick the unique and special that lasts for decades. Lastly, love the intro. Thanks so much!
Every time I see the sewing machine in the new intro I feel a pang of regret for the old seafoam green singer I found at the thrift store a few months back and chose to leave for someone else to love. Surely it isnt still there... but I now really want to check.
I actually managed a trip to a Micheals and was very impressed with what they had out which from the looks of it was only 75% of what was planned. I only allowed myself to buy one metal spider web (wreath?) Because I was planning on trying to make one out of wire as the base for a project I have planned. Most of what I restrained myself from getting Im okay with not having, but there was one woodskull which for some reason spoke to me and like the sewing machine cant stop thinking about.
The pumpkins with the creepy faces are awesome, right now you got your own pumpkin patch in the living room lol! We got a few ASMR moments with the acrylic nail tapping too! I also am neurodivergent and it makes it super hard to get videos done, but your haul video may have finally gotten me motivated to film one of my own!

Just a thought, if you do anything for saint Patrick’s day you could use those gold cauldrons. I am all about being able to use home decor for more than just one holiday. You could even use them at thanksgiving.
That Pumpkin your looking for is part of a set. There are two different versions. One is taller and one shorter. They are by Katherine’s Collection which is super collectible and hard to find. That large Frankenstein doll/ figure is also by the same company. I collect their pieces and look for the line they make exclusively for Home Goods every year. You can order them online but they are super expensive and usually more embellished with more lux fabrics and beading/stones finishes. I’m looking for the set as well. Hope you find them. I agree this years decor feels cheaper than last year and it also feels like there is a lot of saturation but not a lot of actual variety, haven’t been able to find much of anything for myself so far
One suggestion for your rotten pumpkins: if you haven't used a heat gun much, i suggest getting a couple of the little dollar tree pumpkins with that same texture to try out the technique with. That way you can get the hang of it without "ruining" some of your big boys. Also not sure if you've already seen his video or not but Monster Tutorials has a great video on making the rotten pumpkins 🙂

I wish I had the same control over buying Halloween decor ugh I have so much and as soon as it drops I’m there😂I need to start selling stuff I no longer want…but I still love all of it! If I ever win the lottery I’m totally buying a house in Salem and it will be decorated all year!! I love the amazing items that are handmade ! The vintage retro pieces are my favorite I still have a few pieces from HomeGoods several years ago when they used to carry super unique vintage inspired pieces..I still like HG but it feels more mass produced nowadays..excited to see your progress in creating your outdoor decor this year!!
I like to shop at antique stores or flea markets for decor. You can find a lot of unique items.
