More than 50 million chess players have tried the dirty Scholar's Mate trick. It is the checkmating pattern where White plays 1.e4 e5 2.Qh5 (or sometimes 2.Qf3) Nc6 3.Bc4, threatening to checkmate with 4.Qxf7#.
In this video lesson, GM Igor Smirnov will share with you the top 5 most brutal ways to punish the Scholar's Mate attack. These counters are really aggressive that you'll get a powerful initiative and winning advantage in just a few moves.
Shockingly, even Magnus Carlsen has once tried the Scholar's Mate against an opponent who was rated 600 points below him, but the trick didn't really work for him.

Igor, thank you so much! Every other creator seems to show the qb3 line but as an intermediate I constantly get c3 and have to play a position that is out of my repertoire and honestly not practically that much worse at sub 2000 online. Qe7 and f5 have never even crossed my mind before. These response are much more aggressive and the punishing advantage is much clearer than after c3, bg7 etc. Thank you! Your videos are so instructive and clearly presented

Scholar's Mate=Napoleon Attack and Wayward Queen Attack.
Transform Scholar's Mate into Napoleon Attack or Wayward Queen Attack.
Because that's an opening.
I never thought you will teach me Qe7.
Because it looks awkward. But now I will have fun thanks to this video.
By the way, can you do a video about the Polish attack(White:b4)and Polish Defense(Black:b5 against Queen's Pawn Attack)or Bird Attack(White:f4) and Bird Defense(Black:Nd4 against Ruy Lopez Attack)?
Game 5 was the best one.
Like they say:The last is the best.
Igor thanks for the effort for making these videos. I honestly enjoy watching your chess videos!

My 2nd idea when looking at this situation was knight h6
Awesome stuff as always, thanks!!!
straight to the point. helpful.
Great....great..thank you for your lesson
Glad you liked it!
My first successful defense against the scholars checkmate was knight to A3, my opponent didn't see it, tried to checkmate me and i took their queen
Always thanks
I really needed this in my last few games
man, going to try it all soon, thanks again for the great video 🤙🏻
Just wow. Igor sir your videos are very instructive other than so call chess influencers.
Thanks sir , njoyed your informative chess videos 🎉❤❤
🎉
I didn't really like the Qd2 variation because it blocks my bishop for the sake of holding on a pawn
But it's trickier
But this only works if you play E5 black pawn first. So I'm wondering what defense strategy you are playing here?

True
Gotham is an ape entertainer.
3:37 What happens if White pushes the Pawn in D6 and threats your Queen setting up and Exchange?
After nd4 in game 2, if white go to d6, what will be black's counter move?
11:50, what happens, if knight is not backed? You can't take as rook will fall.
Schools may have abolished corporal punishment, but you have restored it. Scholars beware!
Plz make a video on alien gambit.
Wow 😂 that rook 😂❤❤❤❤❤

Are you telling us a story or are we learning lines?💀 Great video though
