    Your video gives a great review on how to build a dinghy, including lots of tips on how to make things easier, like the PVC tube clamps. You also have a perfect voice for comments, but quite often the music is so loud that you can hardly be understood. Still, I enjoyed watching it till the end! Happy sailing!

    Beautiful. Every boat is perfect, in it's way. The perfection is on the artwork, the care and love needed to accomplish. Im bulding a 20 foot gaff rigged sailboat with a small cabin, and I know that a lot of love is needed :) thanks for sharing with us.

    I found this video after watching your video on making a polytarp sail, and low and behold! You're in my neck of the woods! Treasure coast native here, just purchased the plans for building a Piccup Pram! I'd love the opportunity to pick your brain on a DIY project like this, as like yourself I've built many things, but never a boat! Cheers to you Captain and may the wind be ever in your favor!

      Thank You for subscribing and for your kind comment. I'm actually in North Port. Got hit pretty hard by hurricane Ian. Lost my dinghy but found it after a couple of weeks a hundred yards or so down stream, once the waterways got back to normal. It was mostly buried in silt but sustained very little damage. Great test for its construction. Like to see your project once it's under way and also completed. God speed with your project.

    Great job. I liked the details you included. I've seen many stich & glue videos but yours just showed someone slowly plugging away (I completely get the 4 hour work day in that heat!!).
    I also found it so different to see how many shots had you smoking in them. I've watched hundreds if not thousands of hours of UA-cam & I rarely see someone smoking. My cousin smokes so I'm not saying it's bad -- just different to see since so few videos show it 😉

    terrific educative video. Thanks for the great effort. I must say that you are fit to be able to work on that boat at such a low level/height. My eyes would have been popping out if I had to do that.

    Great video! Inspirational.
    Quick question: why wasn’t there any fiberglassing of the exterior of the boat, at least?

      Thank you for commenting. FYI: Don't build a smaller one. You may wish you'd have built a bigger one. Mine is barely big enough for my wife and I. Anyway... Good Luck to you and your son!

    I really like your relaxed approach to boat building...thank you .... but the music is way too loud.... it ought to be background music but it's almost foreground meaning it takes extra effort to hear you.

    Great job thanks for the instruction! I am starting my first boat build a Matt Leydon Paradox sharpie in a couple weeks and have been watching as much as I can about boat building.
    I like your puzzle joint pre-fab. My boat will either be scarfed (scary difficult to me) or butt jointed still debating.

    Great video - I got a really good understanding of the overall process. One question - how did the non-skid surface work out? When you were applying the substance to create the texture on the deck, it looked like you added very little. I probably would have been more heavy handed. Was it enough?

    • @yvindholtan8596
      @yvindholtan8596  Рік тому

      Thank you for your comment! The non-skid process worked great. After it was set, I vacuumed the deck and it looked and worked great. Good luck with your project. As you may know, our area was devastated by hurricane Ian. I lost my dock and when it was all over my dinghy was gone. I fly a drone and after several attempts to locate my dinghy I found it down stream mostly submerged in silt but very little damage. Once my house is back in order I will post a video on how I found it and how I brought it back to life and looking like new. Thanks again.

    Love the boat, but I gotta tell you, man...the music wrecked the experience for me! It reminded me of being back in school, where the teachers always had some loud distracting music playing while they taught, to overpower their words, in order to make sure that the learning experience for us students was minimal at best. But like I said... love the boat!
