Tails is a live-only OS, which means you can't install it and no data is saved when you use it. Whonix is an easy way to force all your traffic to go through Tor. Think of it as a Tor VPN client Qubes is an OS that is meant to be installed, has whonix installed by default (but you can turn it on and off) and runs every program in a completely different virtual machine for the sake of isolation (e.g. if your Firefox gets hacked it only infects that one VM and your email client is safe)

Anyone ever realize from a fingerprinting perspective that all of these measures you take actually makes you stick out like a sore thumb instead of blending in with the masses? Anti-fingerprinting is not about being anonymous, it's about blending in. The only person in a crowd wearing a mask is very easy to track, even if you can't see who they are. What they don't know about you can be just as unique or more than what they do know.
That depends on how the browser you use is setup, if you use firefox with minimal hardening for clear web browsing you won't look too different from the other 3% of the users rocking firefox. For the dark web browser you shouldn't mess with its settings, just use the thor browser as is and you should blend in as well. Also there are some extensions that randomize the info passed for fingerprinting parameters, if you want to go that route, so even if you stick out it would only last that session, then you can restart your gateway to get a different exit node, or if you don't want to route your clear net traffic through Thor you could use mullvad and switch servers when you want to clear your session.
I actually used this as a daily driver for about a year and a half. Definitely not for the people that want things to just work out of the box. Much like Linux newbies coming over from Windows, you must understand that there are things you can do on Linux easily which requires a bit of tinkering and a lot of reading to get working on Qubes. 3:20 Qubes isn't saying the Xen is smaller KVM. Because dom0 typically ranges from 200 MB to 500 MB but not in Qubes. But because dom0 is external to the kernel it can be loaded in a pruned down state so they can seperate and check features and services concerns. The Linux kernel's hardware virtualization (Intel VT-x, AMD-V) with Alpine (eg docker containers) is even smaller than dom0 but is problematic because it is also more integrated. Also KVM directly from the CPU only runs on processors that supports x86 hvm (vt/svm instructions set) whereas Xen also allows running modified operating systems on non-hvm x86 processors (eg Arm CPUs) using paravirtualization. A lot of people want Alpine instead of dom0's rpm boot but the developers are waiting until all inputs are containerised before building a sysgui and discussing change.

maybe add some thermite to your ram that’s ignited when the buskill usb is pulled 😂
@@mmediocahyt1170 Nah, just need a reed switch, relay, and a microwave oven transformer. 😊
How about gluing the laptop shut or do you think they would dip the whole thing into a bucket of liquid nitrogen lol?
I wish Qubes had Wayland support, even if it reduces security, it would be cool to use arch cubes instead of arch native
the tech stack nomenclature has gotten so wildly out of hand that it might as well be hieroglyphics because it's just things that sound like they should be words at this point.
7:03 LMAOOO THATS THE FUNNIEST SHIT EVER 😭😭😭 the dumbass
Great video I love qubes
I was not aware of Qubes OS until today, and now suddenly this is the second time I'm exposed to it. The first was in a UA-cam short, where I took notice because of Snowden's tweet being mentioned. It's just weird how that works.
Edit: Thanks for the explanations, I think I need to watch it a couple more times to fully get it though.
Do a grapheneos showcase of your setup; which profiles you have play services installed etc
missed these linux privacy videos mister alphanerd
Can’t wait to use this and get caught because some stranger saw me and told the authorities lol.
I'm behind 12 virtual machines
Can you do a video on how to circumvent viruses on tails?
didn't get qubes on my laptop because it has an nvidia graphcs card, whic doesn't play nice with openbios, so I'm stuck with things that can run on my stupid proprietary bios.
still, I'm running a random little linux distro no one's heard of, so I can get some security through obscurity
Darn... I'm curious what linux distro it is
@mamoyapomegranate nice try, Fed
See the surge of pointless comments Outlaw? This is the second privacy/security channel I've seen hit by them. There's a new.....information awareness program being run. (My account has been marked, I must avoid being cast into the shadows)
Pengu get Paranoid and hides in imaginary box 📦 🐧
This distro makes me really proud of being Polish 😆
perfect os for me
QubesOS is the ultimate response to Windows Recall!
It is a shame it can't play games as well as other versions of Linux.
Peak.
sidenote, Tails use Gnome. YUCK, super private while selling your data. plus GCM, yeah, as in Google Cloud Messaging.
Like the Seinfeld scene where Jerry buys a security door and Kramer forgets to close it looking for a spatula
The feds watching me watch this on my phone: 😳
2:35 They took me
I'll stick to templeOS.
God protects me.
This is the final boss of paranoia
Attempt # 5.
Trying to get your attention to check your microphone because your S letters sound like a sword cutting something.
bump
I am sufficiently paranoid to use Quebes OS on my old laptop.
Schrodinger's security, is the box valuable or safe, doesn't matter he's paranoid rn
I gotta try it!
Thanks for the suggestion, but i’ve been using TempleOS on the daily🤙
