This movie is impressive. I have been reading comments about different scenes from this film, and it amazes me how people, especially men, were touched by the scenes and particularly by the character Danielle. It is important to make this distinction because surely the feeling that everyone feels does not transfer to the actress Elisha Cuthbert, but rather to her character Danielle. This undoubtedly highlights the quality of Elisha as an actress. She was able to give beauty and sensuality that she does not express on a daily basis to her character. Danielle touched the hearts of so many men, young and not so young, as she materialized or relived feelings and dreams that everyone would like to have experienced or have experienced in their lives. Great movie!

you said this perfectly. i watched this movie off my psp that picked up out of the bargin bin.. i got it because there was a hot girl on the cover i won't lie, i was also like 10, some how i managed to slip it past the front desk clerk (rated r) or i think unrated version.. and this film literally changed my life and how i looked at girls and honestly a few months after watching it i got my first girlfriend, it was uplifting as hell as i could relate to emile's character dearly. amazing film. i bought an original poster of it and had it framed in my office.
I've also noticed that it's mainly men that love this film and I love that. I'm curious how so many men have watched it in the first place though since it does come across as just another romance movie.

This movie changed the way I see women and life in general it’s crazy how a movie like this has put me into feels of depression and loneliness it also changed my feel for music. It’s crazy how you can click on a movie to watch because it’s got a good looking woman on front and end feeling as if you will never find the kind of love they have. The way they look at each other moves me in unexplainable ways.
I don't know how to explain it, after watching this film I felt a feeling of emptiness and loneliness because I didn't have a girl like her by my side, it's heartbreaking, someone else

When I first saw her in the girl next door movie watched it at night in my university' dome back in around year 2004, I was unable to sleep that night thinking how spectacular and beautiful she was... Since this was hearted by the uploader, I'll go a little deeper. I met my wife in 2015, she lived where I wanted to live, her roommate ran out on her mid lease, so I moved in with her after knowing her for about a month. She pretty much was like the girl in this movie, I had watched this movie when I was younger and was always attracted to this personality. You were hers but you also "were not". She knew she had something and always knew if you were not the person she wanted to be with she just wouldn't be. I have so much respect for this personality. Show her you want to be with her or you are not going to be. She won't cheat, but she will always let you know you can go your own way if you want, it's fine she can find someone else. It's only fair in my opinion that girls act this way. No reason to stay with someone that doesn't want you, but of course I did want to be with her so we worked out and of course got married in a wedding that only consisted of a officiator and our parents in 2020 after the big wedding we had collapsed due to the pandemic. I'll still say "find you a girl like this" because they care so much, and will do so much for you, they just make sure they expect the same in return. It's the best kind of relationship and always has been. Find you a girl that lets you know how they feel. I had just got broken up with by a girl that never let me know how she felt, soon after I met her. My wife will always be my "girl next door" she also pretty much looked like this actress when I met her.

The girl next door is unironically my favorite movie. I essentially had a similar journey as matt. Floating through highschool never taking a chance to do anything interesting , never having the drive to do anything to crazy and outlandish. Next thing I knew I to was thrusted into an adventurous summer, where I as everyone else will learn... Take a chance nobody is gonna make your life interesting for you you have to believe in yourself and simply take the chance. Find out if the juice is worth the squeeze so to speak.
This highlights very well why there should be no ugliness, as only beautiful people get to experience true romance, while everyone else merely gets to dream about it.

Matthew wasn't a nerd. I don't know how any girl wouldn't fall for him. He is a massive reason why they movie works. Danielle gets all the praise deservedly so but Matthew made the movie what it is.

He's the "hot nerd" with celebrity-grade looks, which is a different category from conventional nerd; and since women dig intelligence, this "nerdoid" was bridged enough into "cool kid" classification via her persistent "go with it" nudging, sufficient enough for her to maintain interest.
