It would be interesting if the barbarian got something along the lines of a "Cleave" passive skill on his Combat Mastery tree that caused all of his melee attacks to hit nearby enemies for a reduced amount. But adding a skill like that is probably beyond the scope of the remaster. But it would be an interesting way to give the barb access to AoE that would still feel very on-brand with his class.
I keep hoping werebear will get a 4th combat skill that operates like that,it would also fit the character fantasy very well. Hes still rather outshone by the wolf and his pseudo zeal, my pheonix firestorm proccing hybrid geddon mauler bear is honestly a fuckin beast and perhaps my favorite build ever, but short of this specific build hes very lacking in aoe. Keeping with the "theme" of copying another classes ability, its be great if he at least got his own version of berserk or charge. I could see a sort of combination of charge and whirlwind being cool, called Trample-a charge that damages everyone in his path
Totally agree with your analysis on the Barbarian. Even the Barb's "AOE" attack, Whirlwind, isn't technically an AOE, but a series of single-target attacks done in very quick succession. Barbs would have been so much better if their Whirlwind hit boxes behaved like one of the Sorceress's novas instead.
Druid definitely needs some work. He's fun as hell to play but is still missing a few ''niche areas of power'' allowing players to feel uniquely powerful when playing him. Like you said, at times he feel like a cheap knock off version of the other classes. I will say this though, the devs are doing a great job with D2R the recent 2.4 patch especially. They're on the right path they just need to do more with him.
Seems like the barbarian would be worse in terms of his description, than the druid. In the end wouldn't barbarian be last on a ranked level. I'm new to d2r maybe ima lil salty about the tier ranking playing a druid lol. Definitely having fun with my friends with my druid tho
26:25 For the first character on Ladder I decided on playing a "tanky" paladin, using Smite quite often against elite monsters with nasty modifiers. It allowed everybody around me to comfortably deal damage while I kept the monster against a wall. It was also the first character on D2R with which I killed Diablo Clone along with a friend. I tanked (barely took any damage at all) while my friend dealt damage on his Sorceress.
I 98% agree with your ranks, I just wish the zon could break top 3, its been my fav class since d1 on playstation(which i still bring out for fun when im drunk) ;)
Really surprised to see the Necro that high :O in my list he'd be 6 or 7. Because first of all, there's only 3 builds (Summoner, Poisoner, Boner). Summoners are dope, but it can be tedious to get minions, at the start of the game and especially during a boss fight. My poisoners always had trouble breaking the doors(!) in act 5 which felt really like a hit in the face. Deaths web might change this, but it's price/rareness was out of my reach til now or lets say not worth it for me. Also, terrible boss killer in general (no corpse explosion to use there) And the boner seems only viable in pvp. I pretty much agree with the rest. But since each season I say myself "this time I make a xyz as starter class" but once reaching ~80 I miss the Sorceress so much I start anew and she becomes my main char within no time XD yes she has trouble killing all, but there is no efficient season without sorc farming. Enigma again is too expensive for me, I don't count with it. But sorc rocks with budget stuff too. One thing I realized these days, since playing more melee characters again is the hassle when you die. A caster can always carefully, step by step cast its way to its corpse. But a melee has a big problem, mostly dies multiple times on the way and all the players quit and relog if it happens. Overall very good thoughts you have here. Keep it coming :)
Great video topic! Thanks for posting. I agree with your order and would like to add a comment on Paladins. One of the most powerful skills a Paladin has is redemption. with a single point in this skill you can go through a ton of content without drinking a single potion. I have a Paladin I just played /players8 and didn't use a single potion for the entire act 5.
Great video. The only class I’ve really struggled with is the Barb. I just can’t seem to get the hang of this character and, so far, do not enjoy leveling him. I’ll keep trying as I’d like to get every class through hell difficulty but the Barb will always be my least favorite.
The barb is never a good starter character. The rest of the classes have skills to get by on while a barbs core ability is using/wearing equipment. So he pretty much NEEDS an MF cold sorc or hammerdin to supply him with equipment as he levels up.
I started listen to your channel a week ago, and just wanted to say that it’s really good. Very informative, good humour and you have genuine knowledge of the game. Oh, and for the remaster I mainly play as a… Hammerdin 😂
Just wanted to say your videos, knowledge, and voice are awesome. Much better than the most prominent d2 content creators, not gonna name names, but they are all over the place, no structure to their videos, create 45 minute videos with 5 minutes of actual information. I don't understand it but glad I found this channel.
Switch Concentrate and Stun in the combat tree. And replace stun with a "Cleave" skill, which is basically just increased AR, Damage, and deals a radius attack, with a AoE based on weapon range(more range more splash). Cleave could also synergy with WW.
I think you could have switched the barb and the assassin though. I give points to the barb for his team friendly war crys. Who doesn’t love having extra stats for the whole team? Assassin is more of a “lone wolf” style character. I agree with the placement of the rest of your list.
First time watcher. Subscribed. I'm digging this. You have an easy-to-listen-to voice and this video was informative to me. Thanks bunches. I'm looking forward to more from you in the future.
great video and also im very happy today finally i complete my tal ras set found tal ammy while i was farming keys on countess , level 5 which countess is , is very interesting spot to farm all over the place there i found from her minions a ber rune and today a tal ammy , anyway keep up the good work i have become a fun of your channel also i complete watching all your series and i had a great time , say hello also to mr nene
1. Assassin because they can do huge amounts of damage of 3 damage types (lightning, fire, physical) from extreme range (never seeing the foes), have the best crowd control skills in the game (smokescreen and mindblast), and the best summon in the game (shadow master), as well as a few other nice things like mobility from kicks, venom, and a nice ranged attack that can proc venom and many weapon and item powers (blades). Trapsins have, by far, the best survivability for single player hardcore play and can safely defeat every foe in the game themselves with only found and shopped items (and without running thousands of hours of LKs for hr). Again, this is basically the only character that can safely defeat every foe in the whole game on hc without depending on gg from bots, dupes, etc. to give them infinity, enigma, etc. 2. Sorceress because of tp, static, enchant, the best overall aoes (other than trapsin), and the choice of several playstyles (orb/es, hydra, blizz, etc.) 3. Paladin because of auras, hammers, shields, the option for becoming the best melee character in the game (zealot, smiter), and a large number of playstyle options (auradin healer, FoH, chargeadin, etc.) 4. Necro for the large number of fun, playstyles: summoner, bonemancer, poison (needs Bramble etc.), golemancer, cursemancer. The curses are essentially the reverse of a paladin's auras, and a summon army essentially the reverse of a paladin's hammers. They thus both have comparable utility. 5. Amazon. Start as bowadin and respec to javazon later once titans, tstrokes, tgods, and gg available. The seeker arrow, arrow spray with knockback, shift attack, valkyrie, and decoy make them decent at both crowd control and safe (albeit slow) boss kills. At highest levels with gg they're also of course one of the fastest uber killers. With both ranged and melee options they're really nice. Their only downside is their item-dependency and reliance on mostly just lightning. With the right gear they'd be higher on the list ... higher than sorcs even ... because they can rip through everything with blinding speed. But that's with the right gear. 6. Druid for stun werebear summoning and wind druid builds. With the addition of their spirits they can make a valuable second party member, but their utility otherwise pretty much ends in hell unless they have gg (in which case everything becomes playable ... fire druids, werewolves, etc.). 7. Barbs are probably the best overall second party member thanks to BO/BC , the fear cry, and item find. They're also one of the few characters that can safely defeat the game solo in hardcore with only found items (making careful use of berzerk, bash, leap attack, warcries, and shopping). But their dependence on finding a decent weapon and on whacking down one foe at a time makes them a pain to play and just not fun.
This ranking was done before the big assassin patch. The assassin would probably be ranked higher in a more up to date ranking due to the changes she has received.
I think that talking about Druid just as a cheap knock off of other classes is very surface level summary of character. I'm not gonna argue that in terms of clear speed he outperforms others in their separate categories because i dont think he does ( and i couldn't care less because I think the problem is not with him being weak or slow, its problem of others like Pal and Sorc being gamebreakingly overpowered with some specifica set ups) ...but he has a LOT of advantages built into him that others don't have . Necromancer needs bodies for his summons and takes a While for him to snowball into a powerhouse and it's hard to maintain that state without specific gear. Sorceress Has much more problems with immunities because there are no built in physical attacks into her skills. She will struggle at most of areas solo without overpowered specific gear. Paladin can dish out great damage with Zeal, but Zeal unlike Feral Rage doesnt have insane life tap lvl of LL without specific gear . Does anyone see a pattern here ? Versitality, Cheapness, biggest Variety of Play i would argue also - these are things that Druid has over others. Because of that in my world he cannot be the worst just because he doesnt have this one specific category in which he shines the most.
My first barb when picking back up D2 LOD about 4.5 years ago was a conc barb. He's tanky af but man it took forever to level him and hit a lot of nightmarish bottle necks along the way. Would not suggest.
26:05 same here! 20 years ago I played a Hammerdin on Ladder all the way to 99 and it was just so dull and not challenging at all. That's why I haven't made one yet in D2R!
I never liked Hammer too much. You always have to hold shift. Hammers need a bit to be casted. Areas like maggot lair are just horrible. Played side by side with a Hammerdin, me being Smealer (Zeal/Smite) and I killed much faster :D definately my fav Paladin now.
I haven't finished the vid yet but my rank is (top down) Barb, pally, sorc, necro, sin, zon, dudu. My favorite class to play is Necro, and Paladin is the strongest, but in a game about fining loot a class that can do it 70% better will always be the best. Now back to watching...
@@GGMentor nope not mad, I just have different priorities. I can tell by your content that you are about the journey which is why you are able to keep making content like this so late in the season. I'm more of a flash in the pan early ladder player and value ability to get my to HR farming ASAP. Though, if there are minimal changes come S2, I'm going to roll a Necro and go the methodical route to clear the game. It will be such a different run than going the standard Sorc to Hmeph --> pally to HCS --> Horker to wealth route. :D
I've been making my first WW Barb today on d2r. It is so ridicously bad, it's a disgrace. It almost does no damage. 1 point in Berserk (20 in synergy BO though) and it kills waaaay faster than with WW. What is wrong with this allegedly Fighter class? xD Maybe I give classic a try soon. Heard the blood golem was cool there.
@@Hagelnot with selffound gear I've found you have to pair WW with frenzy for the attack speed buff. It's very end game reliant and it definitely sucks.
I think Barb should be put higher simply because of the buff to find item and how insanely valuable that is. The find item barb is the best at what it does. I think Barb will be at least the 3rd most popular starter for next ladder. If they allow shapeshifters to teleport, the melee druid would jump up to join the big boys of melee.
Nerco #2 is a big surprise. Its REALLY hard to kill act bosses with mediocre gear during a play-through; and killing the ubers with him does require some high end gear (enigma). I would have for sure placed sorc #2 and necro #3. I'd also argue that the assassin > amazon due to the fact that she can function on FAR lower quality gear.
@@billbog25 " If you don't have teleport you will struggle with the necro" I almost never use teleport with my Necro xD. I use treachery and obidence you just amp everything, hit couple of times and CE everything. I find it way faster to have you and merc dealing high physical damage for CE then running zillion auras buffing your skeletons. I mean buffing your sekeltons for like 95% dmg or 120% pales in comparison when you are doing 3k+ dmg yourself. Alot of time when playing on P8 I really struggle to see it is infact p8. I don't know why but for some reason the devs have made Necromancer to be quite good with double handed weapons. Polearms? No problem Double handed axes? No problem. You will always get fast or normal attack speeds on them.
About the only thing I'd still like to see happen for Paladin is something to make Vengeance just a bit stronger, beyond that it's certainly hard to dispute that they are in the best position overall.
I disagree. Without a class specific teleport skill the sorceress would be the most tediously boring class in the game, not to mention a squishy sitting duck.
@@mickpratt8327 Which is completely ruined by the existence of Enigma already. All classes should have a mobility skill. Vigor, bust of speed, leap. teleport,
@@GGMentor i just recently started and picked Druid, like you said its the jack of all trades which is good for certain scenarios its also good for multiple types of enemies even though it might not be the best but its a good beginners class
I'm going to open my ladder experience with a Sorceress Firewall-ing Mephisto and Andariel .. Will level up on Leaf / Fireball and will see how far I can get through nightmare by teleporting past immune enemies. Perhaps from level 50 I will spend my first respec to Orb / Firewall in order to unlock everything on hell difficulty, and probably after that continue to farm Andariel and Mephisto with my Firewall. Once I have the Cold Sunder charm and am properly equipped, I will spend my second respec into full cold Blizzard synergies and be able to farm anything at full capacity without needing ANY conviction or lower resistance. If at any time I feel like it, I'll go back to a Firewall build with the proper setup of fire sunder and Infinity (and I take It I have to drop my Oculus and Spirit shield to wield Infinity personally unless I do teleport farming non immunes, where I would just put Infinity on my mercenary to quadruple the Firewall damage to bosses). This makes Sorceress number 1 for ladder start, maybe I'll start Paladin after I have a full repertoire of farmed items.
I think shock wave Druid should get more credit I started it as my season starter and smoked everything made it through hell and all solo started as summon was a new experience and very safe high hp good survival dmg not bad and stuns etc and pets for fun And was actually budget friendly
I want to do a ranking video on my favorite male talent: Brian, pumper, Wesley pipes, Lexington Steele, Byron long, Rico Strong, Jason Luv, Evan Stone and Nick Manning. Forgot Justin Slayer, always wearing those wirey sunglasses and has huge muscles thighs
Fury druid is really strong possibly stronger than Zealer once the BiS gear have been equipped. Not to mention it’s just super fun to play because it’s impossible to die with all the life steal it has.
I created nearly every viable build and for me the best character is the barbarian. A lightning Sorc is e.g. extremely bad if she don’t have BiS and not really versatile. The same goes for trapsin…. I created a ww grief barbarian which was really cheap and can destroy just everything. PhysImmune can be killed in seconds with Besrserk (just a few points are already enough). With enigma and two cheap spirits I can teleport nearly as fast as a Sorc but with much more survability…. It is now my man character for rushing. I have a BiS JavZone with everything you can find. But beside cow runs she is just boring and not really mobile…
Love this ranking. I think another interesting way to judge as well is looking at coveted runewords and why. Obviously enigma … bc it grants the best skill in the game. But look at other highly coveted runewords … lot of characters trying to get/stack paladin auras …
I would have ranked Sorceress much lower due to the Hell monster immunities. It just sucks to be playing and you find monsters you would really want to kill, but you can't.
Is a frenzy rift barb a bad idea ? I hear sin uses fire tree for lvling. Druid is one of my fav but I totally agree with you. I'm disappointed in barb as if I do a find/bo he is pretty weak and fairly bad movement options. Odd thing is the necro is the only char that dos not have a movement skill.. But he is my fav . PS o and ya I forgot abot zon she don't have a movement skill.
where do you make use of the gear you farm? like not super best but gear like shako, blood litter, etc where can I get something out of them if I don't need them? do I trade them for rune first or directly gear for gear? any website for bulk listing? (wanna get a bunch be4 to do trades)
barb kills everything easily... i don't think i've ever encountered a physical immune mob that u couldn't kill with berserk... and all you need is a Lo rune to really get him going
You’re absolutely right about Druid. I wasted last 4 months on ladder building a Druid and tried all classes and nothing really seemed that’ll do significant damage unless you equip it with top tier gears which was hard to collect in few months.
@@WW-zt1zs that’s a garbage argument! Realistically speaking, if you want to complete hell, you need a freaking Infinity, because every other monster is immune to at least 2 elements, and if you’re really unlucky, it’s the elements that you’re using!
@@mr.nobody4994 i agree. I was being ironic. Druid is better in my opinion because of his tankiness, ability to deal with immunes, pets that work as aggro relief and no need for specific gear. To anyone that says otherwise i say - Druid does not suck, you do.
@@GGMentor True, but it has been a long time since I have played a Barb since version 1.07. With the Easy flow of Mana the Barb just doesn't really cut it unless a Song Barb.
DIsagree about WW. It is not buffed overall as it still is weak (no synergies, low ED and AR boost), can't use non-sword 2H weapons for the fastest breakpoint now, is affected by decrep and freezing, etc. As the only real, viable AOE for the barb, Blizzard needs to finally buff it to somewhat closer to its glory days of the the early years.
Druid was the first class where I beat hell and I hit 0 roadblocks, tbf I did find a Jalals before I made him. Wind druid is more PvM easy mode than Hammerdin for my personal playstyle
Corpse fire the zombie in den of evil is immune to cold and physical in hell 😂. Stops wind druids hard, it's scary how many monsters are immune to physical and cold.
I disagree with sorceress. No sorceress is built with 1 element only! Every sorceress is equally strong in 2 trees just because you need to fight immunes. You always have Chain Lightning + Hydra, Frozen Org + Meteor, Chain Lightning + Blizard,... never only 1 of these. The only exception is when you find enemies that are immune to both your elements, but those are only certain elites and they are really rare! And you still have your Mercenary for those who is focused on third element and some physical dmg on top. Ubers could be a thing, I don't have experience with them as Sorceress.
I think barb > ass . Kinda glossed over bo/battle command for group buffs for barbs. Throw is good now and really helps with aoe. Also if druid is jack of all trades at least they should get a bad teleport and way to hork corpses.
I know you don’t like people That disagree. I would swap assassin with Druid. Assassins just aren’t as prevalent outside PKing. You were right the Druid is a jack of all trades earning it a higher spot in my mind than assassin. I might put barb in 5 Druid 6 assassin 7. The rest are as they should.
One of the things you're missing though is that when the druid goes into a spec, he can't do anything else. Unlike other classes that can dual or even tri spec. Once the druid is specced into one build they can't do anything else. And this is mainly a cost issue, it forces you to use so many skill points to make a build viable that you have nothing else left to do anything else with.
@@GGMentor I called this… assassins can’t dual spec either. So I’m not sure how you put assassins over druids. You don’t see kick/ trap sin’s etc. I stick by disagreeing with the druids placement.
Actually dual spec assassins are very common. Death sentry makes it into just about every build, kick sins usually have a wealth of extra skill points, and so do blade fury sins. The only build that lacks the skill points on sin for multiple specs is the Phoenix sin
@@GGMentor but with synergies as they are death sentry fits into lightning trap builds. With assigns synergies dual specing will never put out the same raw damage as Puritan builds. The 4 dual spec classes are in the top 4 outside of barbarian grave robbers. Kicksin’s are terrible to dual spec. At least druids can cast in wearbear now. Overall I just don’t agree that the most versatile class is ranked last.
Please cover how spirit of barbs has been nerfed, The flat damage it returns is so beyond worse At level 42 it returns a flat 1400 damage instead of %return and now it's completely useless and it breaks my heart
It actually got a huge buff believe it or not. I am not sure you are aware of this but Thorns, Iron Maiden, and Spirit of the Barbs required that a monster make a connecting attack to activate. In other words if the monster missed it did nothing. If you blocked it did nothing, if you dodged or evaded it did nothing, if you claw blocked it did nothing. They updated all thorns type abilities to proc on any attack not just ones that land. Which means that 100% of the time it will proc on any attack attempt by the monster whether it lands or not. This alone massively increased the overall damage of all thorns abilities. As for Percentage return, it just doesn't really work, #1 it only affects physical incoming damage not any kind of elemental based attacks. #2 the damage that monsters do is relatively low, and as a whole is far less than the 1400 it does now. Even at lvl 40 before you were looking at a 440% return, so if a monster hit you for 100 damage, you would be looking at 440 returned, 200 would be 880, and 300 would be around 1300. Most monsters do hit for 300 damage a strike. So 1400 flat actually will do more on average than a percent return ever would. The only time the percent return fails to beat the flat damage is versus very heavy hitting monsters that dish out like 1000 damage a hit in physical. those are very few and far between in diablo. However you can combine Paladin thorns with Spirit of the barbs to have both at the same time. My testing however has confirmed that Thorns/Spirit of the Barbs/Iron Maiden are actually very effective (see my SSF Necromancer Run) The issue is monster regeneration, and the overall slow attack speed that they have. What happens is the monster hits takes the thorns damage then takes a rather long time to hit again, and in the interim regenerates a rather large portion if not all of the damage they took. The other issue is Physical resistance, on the necromancer you can use Amplify damage to counter the massive physical resistance most monsters have, but the druid has no such luck.
@@GGMentor I'll have to try it out again, because I saw that thorns got a flat buff having flat damage and percent but before the thorns % would stack with the barbs percent airing around 1200% I believe if that's what 20 thorns from bramble was altogether with barbs. My spirit of barbs would kill hell Andy duriel and meph in less than 10 hits and any adds in a solo game in less than 8 it was fire. I haven't tried it yet after patch 2.4 but thank you for your wisdom
@@GGMentor I wasn't actually aware all my characters got deleted when I synced my blizzard account I was on ladder I always try non meta weird builds but I came back because my friends hit me up and told me to get on because there were qol changes and I immediately went to make a rabies druid. One final thing. I've noticed the orange overlay does NOT appear for me when applying rabies, it still does on the OG graphics. What is causing this or was the appearance changed? I saw and noticed they changed bova back to it's appearance from the beta test for example I really loved that orange graphic thing
I'm sure my favorite druid is probably dead last... everything the druid can do, another class can do better 😞 Edit: yep just started watching..druid dead last lol, really only choice for that spot!
Must say fire druid is pretty cool now. Mine is only lvl 70 rn but had no problems thus far. And while playing I had the impression it's like fire sorc without tele, but with more different skills + physical damage + summons. Definately rose 1 tier up for me. Wind sucks though^^
@@GGMentor yeah I use my druid to snipe bosses, I could probably do it a bit better with some other setups, but Tele stomp on the boss and with reapers on merc they will chew through p7 pretty easily. However, that's unfortunately about it with my zoodruid. However it is relaxing to just sometimes sit and watch lol
@@Hagelnot yeah fire druid is certainly in a much better spot. However without infinity you are relying on the physical damage of the fire spells. Certainly can clear p1 easily but at p7 it does get a bit annoying. Glad though you are enjoying it which is what matters.
I mean until recently, 60% of the assassins skills were worthless basically. Before 2.4 the martial arts tree was something that hardly if ever got used. The blade fury tree was something for the rich. And the fire trap tree was a joke, and honestly though better still is mostly a joke. The few martial arts sina that did exist only used kicks.
Yes, I agree, before hell trapsin or MA is very very good imo, the shadow tree is very nice but ma is weak in hell with poor synergies and venom does very little in hell
12:14 You joke, but it was very saddening to me to find out Blizzard had turned the females (which were previously large-breasted perfectly shaped) into seniors with a serious case of manface!
I know how to play druid to reach his potential, I have made many druids including a very unique wind wolf. My assessment is of the druid as a whole, and I do stand by my statement. The druid is like a knockoff of every other class. They need something special that is uniquely druid. Being a knockoff doesn't make them bad. But the druid also suffers from tunnel vision badly. Most builds cost so many skill points you have very few skill points left to do anything worthwhile with them. Don't take my ranking the druid last as a class to mean they suck and no one should play them. There are solid builds that work, and when geared out properly they do well. But ask yourself seriously, do they do anything better than the other classes? Is there anything truly unique about the druid that stands out and says this is a unique druidic advantage no other class has?
@@GGMentor It's true that he isn't really the best at anything except one thing to survive which is the most important thing when playing HC. If you are a werewolf with maxed lycanthrophy, werewolf and oak sage then you have more life than a barbarian with maxed BO. Then he is also surrounded by a meat shield consisting of 3 dire wolves 1 grizzly which also helps the merc to survive. But I play HC if you play SC survival is not valued as much.
The problem is, I just don’t find the Paladin fun to play. I’ve tried to level a paladin and I don’t enjoy the game when I’m playing him, and I’ve already respec’d twice. And yes, I tried the OP hammerdin. Ugh. So dull.
I always said the same. 2/3 of skills only auras I always found boring. Especially Hammerdin. But now i'm in love with Zeal. Moves fast as **** (charge), smites away all immunes, extreme defense, a lot of gear choices. Now I begin to understand why everybody loves the pally so much :)
My list as a SSF player 1 - Barbarian (Find Item wins) 2 - Trapsin (Dual element in the basebuild + CE and CC) 3 - Wiz (tele) 4 - Javazon 5 - Necro 6 - Druid (love them on HC) 7 - Paladin (uuuuh controverisal and edgy... I just dont like playing them)
I dont think most people would be happy after a decade of the status quo with the Paladin being the ultimate go to class for its versatility if Blizz suddenly nerfed it. I think the much better option after all these years is basically just leave the Paly mostly untouched, and instead just focus on buffing less popular skills and classes to increase their viability.
can you remember the times when paly was the weakest? (there's this animation video where he hits cows like a maniac but deals no dmg haha) I have a dream. That one day, druids can be OP too. And while we're at it, Bowies as well.
I totally desagree with your list. Barbarian is far the best class of the game. Has a very high damage, very high defense (using iron skin, and batlle cry, think this one that rise the defense, and if you use concentrate goes even high), very high vitality (using battle orders), and also has natural resistense, and you can use all at once, different from Paladin, that has defiance, salvation, fanatism, conviction, that are excelent auras (and other excelent ones), but you only can use 1 per time, has very low life, and an average defense (using holy shield). No way Paladin is the best class. The only possibility for a Paladin is vegeance and conviction, but vegeance consumes lot mana, and to do a better damage, you must also add points in 4 aura skills (lot skills to bonuses, resist fire, cold, lightning and salvation, this last one, not neceserly) . Despite I dont agree Druid is the worst, I understand you put it in last position, cause its impossible play as druid with elemental or summoning (except Oak Sage), but a Warewolf with Fury is very good. Shapeshift Druids have very high life (even high with oak sage), but lacks the "hole thing", cause warewolf has high attack speed and attack ratting, while warebear has high defense and damage, and you cant shape in both forms at the same time. Necromancer is another very limited class. Poison and bone skills are trash, dont do damage, the summoning are trash too, except for revive that is great for a side, and bad for other. Great, because the revived doesnt die by nothing but the time, but bad, because, even the revived that has increased damage (even with amplify damage), the proportion of monsters' life and damage is very big tending to life, and you depend on a hireling to kill the enemies while the revivedies distract. Poison Nova is only acceptable, if you have trang oul completed (-25% enemy poison resistance and increases 25% damage os poison skills), added to lower resistance it works pretty good. I dont know why you said that Necromancer can kill uber monsters that Sorceress doesnt. OK, necro has amplified damage and lower resistence, but sorceress has cold master. I think both can kill anything. Assassin is by far the worst class, cause the best claws of he game have low damage, and also the traps and the matial arts have low damage. My rank is (top to bottom): 1- Barbarian 2- Sorceress 3- Amazon 4- Druid 5- Paladin 6- Necromancer 7- Assassin
This channel has easily become my most favored D2R channel, very informative and enjoyable to listen to.

I could see a sort of combination of charge and whirlwind being cool, called Trample-a charge that damages everyone in his path
all they really need to do, is making whirlwind actually hit in physical aoe instead of checking for single hits everytime it "ticks" so to speak..
Hopefully you get much bigger on UA-cam, you're videos are so informative and good. I watch almost every single video
Thank you yanni, I will with the help of amazing support like you.
I hate your rankings, mostly because it is so accurate. Hurts my soul.
You Sir, nailed it, and well done to you!
Also, terrible boss killer in general (no corpse explosion to use there)
And the boner seems only viable in pvp.
A barb also needs a cowazon to get him runes for grief, lawbringer and fortitude lol.
I started listen to your channel a week ago, and just wanted to say that it’s really good. Very informative, good humour and you have genuine knowledge of the game. Oh, and for the remaster I mainly play as a… Hammerdin 😂
Oh no 😅 he plays hammerdin
Just wanted to say your videos, knowledge, and voice are awesome. Much better than the most prominent d2 content creators, not gonna name names, but they are all over the place, no structure to their videos, create 45 minute videos with 5 minutes of actual information. I don't understand it but glad I found this channel.
Well thank you Samuel, be sure to check out my meme video on diablo II for a good laugh too 😂
ua-cam.com/video/9Q9p8fPcYyc/v-deo.html
Switch Concentrate and Stun in the combat tree. And replace stun with a "Cleave" skill, which is basically just increased AR, Damage, and deals a radius attack, with a AoE based on weapon range(more range more splash).
Cleave could also synergy with WW.
"The Manazon" - Why didn't I think of that?
I think you could have switched the barb and the assassin though. I give points to the barb for his team friendly war crys. Who doesn’t love having extra stats for the whole team? Assassin is more of a “lone wolf” style character. I agree with the placement of the rest of your list.
First time watcher. Subscribed. I'm digging this. You have an easy-to-listen-to voice and this video was informative to me. Thanks bunches. I'm looking forward to more from you in the future.
Thanks and welcome to the channel
great video and also im very happy today finally i complete my tal ras set found tal ammy while i was farming keys on countess , level 5 which countess is , is very interesting spot to farm all over the place there i found from her minions a ber rune and today a tal ammy , anyway keep up the good work i have become a fun of your channel also i complete watching all your series and i had a great time , say hello also to mr nene
Mr Nimoy wants raisins 🤣
Also grats on the sick ber rune
2. Sorceress because of tp, static, enchant, the best overall aoes (other than trapsin), and the choice of several playstyles (orb/es, hydra, blizz, etc.)
3. Paladin because of auras, hammers, shields, the option for becoming the best melee character in the game (zealot, smiter), and a large number of playstyle options (auradin healer, FoH, chargeadin, etc.)
Ever since I first started playing D2 since I was maybe 11 or 12 Pally and Necro has always been my most played classes.
such an underrated channel... p.s. now i cant unhear the burburihan ...... xD
That's right berberdadin
The day when the pally isn’t overwhelmingly the best character in D2 will be the best day of my life. Great video by the way 😉
Mosaicsin
@@NoNameEntered You ain't kidding
As much as I love playing druids, I unfortunately completely agree. It lacks the toolbox that most other classes have.
Do a skill Grand Charm ranking next. I hate when someone offers me a junk GC for a good GC
Could be interesting hmm 🤔
Oh no 😅 you might be mad at me
I loved that movie, Chitty chitty BANG BANG!
I've been playing d2 classic on a barb, it's so nice having WW be viable with only selffound gear. I wish I could say the same for LoD
I've been making my first WW Barb today on d2r. It is so ridicously bad, it's a disgrace. It almost does no damage. 1 point in Berserk (20 in synergy BO though) and it kills waaaay faster than with WW. What is wrong with this allegedly Fighter class? xD
Maybe I give classic a try soon.
Killing Act Bosses with necro stops being hard at all as soon as u get the Thorns Merc, might is great for mobs, thorns is broken against bosses
I think the Necromancer goes first for me because he can do so much all at once!
Depends on your build though. If you have bone spear you don't need to rely on your summons.
@@billbog25
"
If you don't have teleport you will struggle with the necro"
I almost never use teleport with my Necro xD.
Polearms? No problem
Double handed axes?
No problem.
You will always get fast or normal attack speeds on them.
My barbarian is a concentrate barbarian and love him. But slow, but gets the job done.
Spin barb and martial arts assassin kickin butt ready for season 2 ladder hoping they will kick it off with aagic find bonus weekend🙂👍
About the only thing I'd still like to see happen for Paladin is something to make Vengeance just a bit stronger, beyond that it's certainly hard to dispute that they are in the best position overall.
Mosaic assassin is now #1 hands down. Easy leveling with trapsin until you get mosaic. Sorc is just mandatory for keys.
Druid needs a teleport. Call it burrow and he goes through the ground and pops up across the map.
I'd love that, but only as a shapeshifting skill :)
Even a dash like paladin or movement speed buff would be welcome.
I disagree. Without a class specific teleport skill the sorceress would be the most tediously boring class in the game, not to mention a squishy sitting duck.
@@mickpratt8327 Which is completely ruined by the existence of Enigma already. All classes should have a mobility skill. Vigor, bust of speed, leap. teleport,
Nats, Griswold's, and mavinas are my top three
Lol Kyle this is class ranking not set ranking sir
No matter what class you choose its always fun
Yup, there are definitely fun builds on every class
I think shock wave Druid should get more credit I started it as my season starter and smoked everything made it through hell and all solo started as summon was a new experience and very safe high hp good survival dmg not bad and stuns etc and pets for fun
And was actually budget friendly
I want to do a ranking video on my favorite male talent: Brian, pumper, Wesley pipes, Lexington Steele, Byron long, Rico Strong, Jason Luv, Evan Stone and Nick Manning. Forgot Justin Slayer, always wearing those wirey sunglasses and has huge muscles thighs
Good list I would switch barb and druid. Barbs are just boring to play
Frenzy is kinda cool, but tedious at the same time, he's just moving too fast xD
My list 1) pala 2) ama 3) sorc 4) necro 5) barb 6) assassin 7) druid
The Druid set was the first complete set I got. I was seriously disappointed in the weapon. I was a fury/fire claws Druid and couldn’t use it at all
I know that’s a set issue and not really a class one
It's a little better now that you can upgrade it, but it really needs some more Enhanced damage on it.
Druid set is so bad cept for boots and armor
I'm building a multi use javazon right now. Using lightning and poison. So far it seems not to horrible.
Lol 😆
Just started the game from d3 and I choose necro first wahoo!!!!
you are in for lots of fun =)
Fury druid is really strong possibly stronger than Zealer once the BiS gear have been equipped. Not to mention it’s just super fun to play because it’s impossible to die with all the life steal it has.
Good work. 👍
Most sought after runewords could make a fun video =¶
I would have ranked Sorceress much lower due to the Hell monster immunities. It just sucks to be playing and you find monsters you would really want to kill, but you can't.
Sorc got #3 because of teleport, that's pretty much it. If sorc didn't have teleport she'd be at #4
@@GGMentor That's what I thought. I don't think it deserves it just because of Teleport. Teleport is available on many items in the form of charges.
Summon Necro with enigma is my favorite build.
Never tire of that intro 🤣
Is a frenzy rift barb a bad idea ? I hear sin uses fire tree for lvling. Druid is one of my fav but I totally agree with you. I'm disappointed in barb as if I do a find/bo he is pretty weak and fairly bad movement options. Odd thing is the necro is the only char that dos not have a movement skill.. But he is my fav . PS o and ya I forgot abot zon she don't have a movement skill.
Sounds like fun tbh.
biting my nails for actual season patch notes!
where do you make use of the gear you farm? like not super best but gear like shako, blood litter, etc where can I get something out of them if I don't need them? do I trade them for rune first or directly gear for gear? any website for bulk listing? (wanna get a bunch be4 to do trades)
Leveling new characters, Magic Find setups, Trade, giving stuff to friends
barb kills everything easily... i don't think i've ever encountered a physical immune mob that u couldn't kill with berserk... and all you need is a Lo rune to really get him going
As a single target ability it works well. But a single target ability isn't gonna place you at the top.
An Aoe charger bash would be nice.
will you or have you redone this for 2.5? Should change things up a little
Yeah it probably does need to redone
🥇🥈🥉
You’re absolutely right about Druid. I wasted last 4 months on ladder building a Druid and tried all classes and nothing really seemed that’ll do significant damage unless you equip it with top tier gears which was hard to collect in few months.
Well then your builds Must really suck, you should just stop thinking and go with sorceress already.
What would you rank Assassin as now with Mosaic???
Oh assassin has risen significantly, both the trap assassin, and the MA sin are forces to be reckoned with now.
The sorc likewise lost the #1 spot.
My list…#1 -5 Pally, Sorc 6, Java 7😎
Barbarian could be 6th or 7th. Biggest Issue is that it has no elemental damage and barely any AoE.
Berserk is great magic damage it's just single target and a bit difficult to use
@@GGMentor True, but it has been a long time since I have played a Barb since version 1.07. With the Easy flow of Mana the Barb just doesn't really cut it unless a Song Barb.
I think barb should be 4. Anytime you have one on your team you're happy.
@@GGMentor lmao I had no idea about that, wish I had my run saved to see how I handled that one, probably some ele DMG on my weapon

Is there a updated list after the sunder charms?
I think number 6 and number 5 are wrong, should be swapped. Same goes with number 3 and number 2.
Druid will be #1 in my heart :(
me too bro
I enjoy playing druid though I recognize its faults
I've found many items with Teleport charges on them, so that should not be that impactful for the ranking of the Sorceress.
Great idea to use teleport charges with crappy gear. That’s the solution for all classes 🧐
the ber ber da din LMAO
The Necromancer doesn't turn into a vampire he turns into a Litch.
Here's my list
1. Druid
2. Druid
3. Druid
4. Druid
5. Druid
6. Druid
7. Necro
The shout buffs are nice but if extra HP is all you want druid does that too and look where I ranked him 😂
I know you don’t like people
That disagree.
Barb needs a spit or vomit attack to take out multiple targets.
Please cover how spirit of barbs has been nerfed,
The flat damage it returns is so beyond worse
At level 42 it returns a flat 1400 damage instead of %return and now it's completely useless and it breaks my heart

"so you might ask yourself how did the assassin rank so high" ,
this is so memable, everyone is flaggerbasted when assassin isnt last.
Feelsbadman
I mean until recently, 60% of the assassins skills were worthless basically.
Before 2.4 the martial arts tree was something that hardly if ever got used.
The blade fury tree was something for the rich.
And the fire trap tree was a joke, and honestly though better still is mostly a joke.
The few martial arts sina that did exist only used kicks.
Yes, I agree, before hell trapsin or MA is very very good imo, the shadow tree is very nice but ma is weak in hell with poor synergies and venom does very little in hell
The druid is the red headed step child
Hey I have red hair...
@@GGMentor As do i as do i LOL 😊
Mr. Ginger? There's a very angry spinning guy wanting to talk to you about being a single target attacker :)
Believe it or not whirlwind is still single target.
It just looks like it's aoe
12:14 You joke, but it was very saddening to me to find out Blizzard had turned the females (which were previously large-breasted perfectly shaped) into seniors with a serious case of manface!
Yes sir where are my Amazon's that want to give us death by snew snew. . . lol
My level 94 HC druid does not like this list. I don't think you know how to play a druid exactly and reach its full potential.
@@opengrapefruit1534 it's true if survival is your main goal druid does have some interesting options.
But in SC survival is secondary
How so @ #6? WW is so good!
You're Manazon wont be better than my Bananabarb 😀
Brrbrrdadin
The problem is, I just don’t find the Paladin fun to play. I’ve tried to level a paladin and I don’t enjoy the game when I’m playing him, and I’ve already respec’d twice. And yes, I tried the OP hammerdin. Ugh. So dull.
I always said the same. 2/3 of skills only auras I always found boring. Especially Hammerdin. But now i'm in love with Zeal. Moves fast as **** (charge), smites away all immunes, extreme defense, a lot of gear choices. Now I begin to understand why everybody loves the pally so much :)
The Paladin sound broken.
he is lol
My list as a SSF player
1 - Barbarian (Find Item wins)
2 - Trapsin (Dual element in the basebuild + CE and CC)
3 - Wiz (tele)
4 - Javazon
5 - Necro
6 - Druid (love them on HC)
7 - Paladin (uuuuh controverisal and edgy... I just dont like playing them)
I want the manazon to be a thing
The berberdeden
Paladin is soo OP, need a Nerf, or other classes need to receive a Big Buff
I dont think most people would be happy after a decade of the status quo with the Paladin being the ultimate go to class for its versatility if Blizz suddenly nerfed it. I think the much better option after all these years is basically just leave the Paly mostly untouched, and instead just focus on buffing less popular skills and classes to increase their viability.
I agree, just focus on fixing the other classes no need to nerf paladin
@@tym6217 I hope a BIG buff to Amazon & Barbarian.
can you remember the times when paly was the weakest? (there's this animation video where he hits cows like a maniac but deals no dmg haha)
I have a dream.
My rank is (top to bottom):
1- Barbarian
2- Sorceress
3- Amazon
4- Druid
5- Paladin
6- Necromancer
7- Assassin
Amazon is top 3
And if they Nerf Grief like many think they will then the Barb will truly be done. Players 8 hell hes worthless tbqh.
I used a dual ethereal flesh rippers on a whirlwind barbarian and he demolished in players 8.
Grief isn't the only weapon option
