- Air tankers and helicopters helped douse flames from the sky as nearly 200 firefighters on the ground battled a wildfire northeast of Phoenix Friday that threatened scores of homes and forced dozens of residents to evacuate.
Authorities expanded the evacuation area in a subdivision on the northeast outskirts of Scottsdale, closed roads and shut down part of a nature preserve as gusty winds continued to fan the flames in extremely hot, dry conditions.
But there were no immediate reports of injuries or structure damage, Arizona fire officials said.
Near Phoenix, where the high reached 43.3 degrees Celsius (110 Fahrenheit) Friday, about 60 residents evacuated homes in the Boulder Heights subdivision overnight after the human-caused fire broke out about 2:30 p.m. Thursday.

They are building more homes in waterless AZ.
Selling water out of the country as well😊
Arizona sits on one of the largest aquifers in the country. .. there's an unending source of water underneath these Arizona deserts but they will not allow you to drill down deep enough to access it in most places. .. with that in mind if you do drill a well out here it'll cause you at least $50,000 to go down about 500 ft.
Many people moving her!

Isn't there usually smoke associated with fires? I didn't see any.
Deductive reasoning can lead one to assume they're dropping fire retardant. Not everything is a conspiracy theory
@@jurj97Except there really isn't much to burn in the desert. No smoke no fire
Its a smokeless wildfire
So what they're doing is dropping fire retardant to prevent the fire from spreading further, and the water is possibly being used to wet the area to also prevent the fire from spreading
I didn't see any 🔥 either!
🤙 thank you!!
Dosent look like there were any fires where they dumped retardant or water.
They are there.massive evacuation
why the red color?
Phos Chek
It’s toxic
So the pilots in the air can see where the last slurry drop was.
They used purple last year near Kingman.
They change the color every year so that we can have our Arizona Painted Desert. 😅😅😅😅😅😅
That wild fire is so massive. It engulfed the whole landscape 😮
Need more fire protection in Arizona.
More prevention not protection.
I've lived out here in Arizona desert for several years now and some new people just moved in from California ....just up the way from me. and they were testing out their fireworks the other night them idiots!
Anyway I filled up my water hauler and I'm ready to fight a fire but I will not be protecting their house that's for damn sure. 😮
Same thing happened in Colorado!! City yuppies moved in & everything went to hell!!!
💯
Where the helicopters
They’re probably going to do it everywhere, so it doesn’t catch fire in the first place
🤔 I wonder if they're using the same pfoa retardants like in Lahinia? Or in Washington that's killing vegetation?
Lots of money being dumped on the ground.
Those big tankers are so crazy when they dump they are pushing down on the stick and every pilot knows that's not right at their altitude crazy 👍✌️
И че ???
Advocate for controlled burns and removed private water rights to begin restoring ground water!!!!
Most of wildfires begin because of dumb drivers who throw their sigarette out on shoulder
Cigarettes not the main issue, ..although one of them….lightning strikes, careless unattended campfires, people burning brush, target shooting, broken glass bottles in the sun, hot catalytic converters on vehicles driven in tall, dry grass, careless ate usage, etc….all cause fires.
@@richardjohnson2965Cigarettes is also one of the issues. The OP isn’t wrong
actually more fires start from trailer chains dragging on the highway...................... and then there are the ones that get paid HUGE $$$$ to fight them..... so you are kinda right ill give you a C
@@richardjohnson2965thank you. . A lot of people that have never actually lived out in the desert like I do or visited one have no clue what happens out here and what can start a fire. .. some new neighbors moved in from California just a few weeks ago and they're already testing out fireworks for this weekend. . It's currently against the law to use fireworks in the desert because of the extreme fire risk that is currently in place including the burn ban. .. I got my firefighter water hauler ready just in case but if that guy's property burns down I'm not going there I'm going to protect my other neighbor and myself first
@@richardjohnson2965catalytic converters and bad Mufflers on exhaust systems are one of the principal components of fire starters out here in the desert.
🎉
Sue for air pollution! That stuff is toxic!!
So is Chem Trails and thats everyday. barium, strontium, aluminum plus others not reported like southern Oregon whic was reported as Lithium several yrs ago.
It is not toxic.
WTF is there to burn in that desert?!
Yes. Outside of Scottsdale. Dry very hot here!
@@user-zn5qg4se6q i mean....what foliage or vegetation...what is there to ignite?!
With the spread of the non native grasses Arizona is becoming more fire prone every day! There has always been plenty to burn but the grasses spread any fire rapidly. They act like a fuse on a bomb.
@@davestambaugh7282 Yes and now we also have highly invasive "stink-net" that is overtaking the desert and extremely flammable. Arizona has been late to the party in taking mitigation measures.
Wildfires in the desert
I live in Arizona….this happens every year.
You've never been to a beautiful desert have you? .. I live in one and have 40 beautiful Acres. 😊
I didn’t know deserts Could burn
Deserts are more than sand….they are covered with dry brush…and burn quickly and easily.
Have you ever heard of vegetation? Joshua trees, creosote, mesquite trees and bushes? Or desert has all kinds of things that can burn, including our homes.
there is no climate issue : Trump
110 in the Sonoran desert is normal climate. FYI
What desert? : Biden
@@somebodysbody436140°C in Southern Ontario, Canada, in mid-June and 40-45°C in Atlantic Canada in mid-June is not normal, FYI
well to answer from someone whom lives here..... we had another winter of record rainfall which means we get what the call SUPERBLOOM which in turn creates tons of grass and weed vegetation which become super fuels in the summer months.... try to be LESS STUPID thx :)
Bidumb: I'll take an ice cream cone for my Sonora Desert.
I have done this many times. From rallying to skating and basketball and football and swimming and diving and karate. Women are better because they are not proud and accept it. Now you are one goal behind against Slovakia. I predict two goals for you. The procedure is this: you think about my mind with all your being and for a few seconds with all your being. You try to hear my voice with your mind. Then by relaxing your body, you surrender your body to me. You pay attention to me for a few seconds without thinking about anything else. Then you come to the field and play a beautiful football. Your goal should be to play football and not to score goals. Here at 8:26 p.m. Iran and the port of Anzali is on the coast of the Caspian Sea. I said the formulas. I can win you without this method, but I am not allowed to do so anymore. In the Qatar Asian Cup, I did this for Jordan, who played the most beautiful football, but the organizers They made a mess. From treacherous refereeing to other things that cannot be said.
