Dave, you can have gonja when back in Canada. You may buy plantains( gonja) from the supermarket or a store specializing in tropical produce. The more yellow it is the better otherwise wait for it to get yellow. Then remove the peel and bake on a foil covered cookie tin for about 20 - 25 minutes.

although I've never been to Uganda, I have met a few people through the web that live there, people that are poor with very little opportunity to change their circumstances, and they have told me that there is a culture there that treats people differently because of their financial status, that the people that are NOT poor look down on the people that are, and will do little to nothing to help their fellow Ugandans who aren't doing well in the country. This needs to be covered as well...
