- Myanmar Railways (Burma) - Facinating insight of the trip from Pyin Oo Lwin station, northeast to the town of Hsipaw on the 131 Up train, on the Mandalay to Lashio line, in the Shan States of Myanmar (Burma). This is a snapshot of an incredible journey, which starts with shunting of extra coaches on the the train in the pooring rain, the crossing of the stunning Gokteik Viaduct and a look at some of the stations along the route to Hispaw. At the stations we see lots going on as people arrive, depart, or are just there to sell their goods.
The stations see along the journey are as follows:
Wetwun 08 min 41sec
Nawnnghkio 12:41
Nawngpeng 21:00
Kyaukme 28:15
Hsipaw 34:18
The train leaves Pyin Oo Lwin at 08:22 and arrives at Hsipaw at 14:38, and is pulled by Chinese CNR locomotive, maufactured by Dalian Locomotive & Rolling Stock Co. Ltd., which had a 2000 hp CAT engine.

Myanmar should be proud , of herself to have their own railway that not belong to foreigner..Look very classic.
Train journey extravaganza Mark. Amazing and super enjoyable viewing. To travel over that viaduct would frighten me. So interesting watching the people and the movement of luggage and food snack supplies on the stations.Wot else can I say except thankyou for bringing this 81 year old such pleasure,
SMILEVIDEOTRAINS Its certainly an amazing place to visit with lovely people, thanks for the comment 😀
It's my country and my township ❤️
Love this - great camerawork - and no talking or music. Just letting the camera speak. Took my first Burma train way back in 1991. Love the rain and the mist - and the background noises. Brilliant stuff.
Thank you very much for such a lovely comment, so pleased you liked the video, thank you for taking the time to tell me. It really is a lovely place to trave with such warm people, I love it.
I love Pyin Oo Lwin and I spent more than five years of my childhood in Pyin Oo Lwin.

Another amazing video. It's so calming to trundle along so slowly, with the cars rocking, except for the bridge crossing, which made me nervous even on film. Thank you for sharing. How did you end up in what is seemingly such a remote area? Do you speak the language? Did you sample the food on the platform? Is there a conductor on the train that's collects tickets? Is train travel very inexpensive there? Sorry for all the questions, but I want to ride that train myself and I'll never be able to.
Hi there, thanks vor the great comment, its really appreciated. Myanmar is a beautiful country, and the people are lovely. Hahaha, yes crossing the bridge should make you nervous, it did me while filming!! The bridge is on the way to Lasio in the East of the country, and it is a lovely scenic route to travel, and easily done, fo you don't mind the 4am start from Mandalay. I don't speak the language, but most people we encountered spoke quite good English. No we did't sample the platform food, and I can't remember about the ticket conductor, but sure there would have been. It is very cheap to travel. Travelling by train in Myanmar is so interesting, not only a great way to see the country. but also to meat real people, who are so warm and friendly, I love it. If you look in my Mayanmar Playlist you will see several other videos of journys etc. Thanks again for your interest and support, take care
Super Super Video
Thanks
Very nice view
Su Suwai Thanks very much, appreciate the comment 😀
Welcome to myanmar
Classic video again Mark, as always, it brought some memories back, especially the people and village scenes. I made the mistake of getting the ferry from Rangoon up to Mandalay and back around 25 years ago, disgusting, dirty and smelling of diesel fumes and oil plus cockroaches crawling over you as one tried to get some sleep on the deck or bench seats, not to mention foul and blocked primitive toilets on board! "Upper Class" carriages, very colonial expression from the old days eh? "Wetwun" station, certainly was a "Wet One". Gokteik Viaduct was an engineering marvel in its own. Steam engine water stand at Naung Peng, a relic of the past.
Yes, I have heard that boat jourvey is an experience! I loved traveling in Burma, can't wait to be back, although that could be quite a while yet. Thanks for the comment
Kondisi kereta ini sama di Indonesia tahun 1980,sekarang sudah modern

22::26 The train staff appears to be some dudes' hat
12:51 saw this military man feel bad since they took country's power there was nothing improve.
Kalau di Indonesia.. Pelayanan kereta api kayak gtu gak akan mau naik nya...
