Lucky you, it flooded on the way back to Rangoon, knee deep in water inside the train itself, not fun, but definitely an experience to tell your friends about. Train was so dam noisy, no sleep. But on the way there, sky was so clear, you could look out the window and see what looked like millions of stars, a sight to behold. Train got stuck in the mud for a few hours, long trip, not for someone old with back pain, beds and seats rather uncomfortable and it was, actually can't remember, but maybe a 16 hour ride, felt like an eternity. Going was fun, coming back not, sitting in a train flooding not exactly like spending the night at the Hilton hotel, that's for sure. But I'd go back, but during cool/dry season (dec-feb), whatever you do not during rainy season (July-sept, google it for updates before booking a flight). How'd you get on top? or just joking? Weather overall fantastic, just return we hit some storm, not fun if you're a 5 star hotel type of guy.
what year was this taken? I heard you traveled with this famous writer, Mac Horn with you, wow, you're a famous guy! the stars were magnificant, too bad the camera didn't show it, was breathtaking night views, we stayed up all night just gazing a millions and millions of stars, unbelievable! A trip I'll never forget. What year was this?
