I've been living in New Orleans since 1984.This city and it's many exciting people and places has never let me go a day without falling in love with it all over again.Hugh Laurie said that every man has a pilgrimage and playing and experiencing the magic that The Big Easy instills on a person was his.I say it again, I can feel it now even more.Thank You Hugh and You too Nawlins.
How, this just makes me smile, wonder how can someone dislike this, these people must haver hearts of stone. I mean, look after 3:00 , you can clearly tell that Hugh is having the time of his life there!
Love this song! Especially how he sings, i didn't like his voice when I first heard him sing but it's been growing on me after listening to a couple song
This one's great, but mine is "St. James Infirmary 2011"! Either way, he's in a class by himself! All props to all the backup vocals, and instrumentals. Without 'em, it wouldn't be as great... and he knows it!
Well his voice is better than Fess's! Great version. Suggest you listen to Allen Toussaint's blues version for a whole different take. Not sayin better - but different.
Why is that bad? i dont wanna be disrespectful. I like this version and you dont. Thats ok. But, I don't quite understand why is that terrible in your opinion.
I just re-watched the video to make sure I still stand behind my comments. I do. This version sounds lazy and listless; it lacks the energy this music demands. If you are going to the trouble of hiring a band of professional musicians, the track better smoke hot like a burning house
D.F. Simmons I understand that you would prefer the music a little quicker, but energy doesn't come just from speed. Also, I don't think music demands anything in itself. Demands come from listeners' expectations, mood, circumstances on the day.
Agreed. New Orleans music has a home and a place and it's called New Orleans. It's abrasive to me to go from hearing the authentic product live to hearing a sterile studio version
The smile of a man truly enjoying himself and the music.
He is really enjoying this. I love Hugh Laurie
Look at this man' s face. He is truly in the world that he loves.

It's Gus Fring from Breaking Bad.
the professor did not use effects and editing, and this version is slow as a funeral march

Hugh Laurie's voice sounds affected and unimaginative
