Very good that Vítor Frade is explained. He's the father of a silent revolution in football training.
Very bad the absence of reference to Pedroto. Without Pedroto the inteligence center of football in Porto would not exist.
Still today one of the best coaches ever to coach in Portugal and the most decisive for what football became in this country.
As a Greek, I know that Portuguese tactics have helped our football immensely. The teams that had Portuguese coaches where always midfield oriented and great in attacks.

At this point there are at least 3 kids on fire. Nuno Mendes, João Palhinha and Pedro Gonçalves. The first two could easily bem in the XI, Pedro Gonçalves the wild card from the bench. But i doubt they even bem called to the national team...

Muito centrado no mourinho... mas achei muito bom falar da "escola" portuguesa de treinadores que é sem dúvida muito boa e vai continuar a ser com os treinadores jovens que estão a aparecer. Já agora não queiram intelectualizar em demasia o futebol, assim como outros desportos, é essencialmente feito de vivências e partilha de conhecimento que é feito e não de resultado de laboratório
Porque foi o Mourinho que revolucionou o futebol portugues, a partir dai a qualidade dos treinadores portugueses foi sempre a subit

The dinamic of the players can be ajusted, for exemple one player like Futre gain space attack forward, if is team keep the other attack blocked on is theam 2/4 to 1/4 field defence position.

Ronaldo would make an excellent coach. He has an amazing work ethic, is a very good pitch reader, and has the charisma to lead a team of young guys or to try and learn with the older guys. Only thing he lacks as a coach is an understanding of the tactical flexibility, and that's where the portuguese school of football enters

It's absolutely shocking that not even a single mention was given to Sporting, a club that also played a huge role in developing Portuguese football by the sheer amount of quality players it produced, from Paulo Futre, to Luis Figo and of course Cristiano Ronaldo.
Sporting's youth academy is rated as one of the best youth academies in football history, being at one point in the top 3 in Europe, alongside Barcelona's and Ajax's. It also developed its own concept in developing players, namely by Aurelio Pereira, through emphasising the importance of flair development at a young age. This methodology in player development was also revolutionary for Portuguese football, and for the success of the Portuguese national team. For instance, 8 out of the starting 11 that lined-up against France in the final of Euro 2016 were Sporting graduates, and 2 out of the 3 Portuguese players who won the ballon do'r were Sporting graduates; Luis Figo and CR7.
Talking about Portuguese football and not mentioning Sporting's youth academy, is like talking about Spain and the Netherlands and not mentioning the contribution of Ajax's formation and Barcelona's tiki-taka in Spanish football. It's atrocious.
Presenting Portuguese football development as a mere Porto / Benfica doing is shocking. It is important for non-Portuguese people to know one thing; in Portugal, the entire press and power lies with Benfica and Porto, because they are the two most powerful clubs of the two major cities in Portugal; Lisbon and Porto. Sporting is constantly disrespected by the football community in the country, because they are the main threat to Benfica's and Porto's dominance. This is a reality everyone knows but few people like to admit. I suspect that this documentary was done in strict connection to that same football community in Portugal, and it's no wonder that they emphasise Benfica and Porto, whilst at the same time deliberately omitting Sporting from this documentary. Shame.

Mano, nos últimos anos a academia do Benfica tem revelado mais jogadores que a do Sporting! Só este ano e à pala do Ruben é que estão a voltar a apostar em jovens...O Benfica com JJ está a fazer o caminho contrário! Mas a evolução das formações portuguesas só é bom para a seleção porque no fim de contas eles jogam 1/2 anos no clube e acabam por sair para as maiores ligas...

@@Mix115 Mas o que é que eu disse? NOS ÚLTIMOS ANOS A DO BENFICA TEM ESTADO MUITO À FRENTE. Não é por dizer que a do Sporting deixa de ser das melhores. Já disse os jogadores que o Benfica revelou na última década, o Sporting está este ano a revelar bons jogadores outra vez, mas na última década pouco apostaram na formação

@@ahnafdrubo9727 And Mourinho won the CL with Inter in 2010. After that no other Italian team won the CL or EL. Nowadays Inter can't even progress from CL or even EL groups. But Mourinho's achievements abroad don't mean much for "Portuguese football" anymore, what he did for Porto in 2003-2004 changed Portuguese football.
