As someone with a relatively large game collection (not bragging, it feels like a prison, I don't recommend), it's refreshing seeing someone gush about their modest collection which is mostly comprised of their favorites. That's the kind of collection I strive to downsize to. I was fortunate to have a lot in my childhood, but once I made my own money, I started collecting for the sake of it, and hung onto a lot of games from my past that I don't like or will never play. MY collection is hoarding; yours is just nice shelf decoration, and that's a compliment.
each title in your collection has its own history which entangles with your own special history, i loved it. thank you so much for this upload! please, tell us more about each game you love so much.
Randomly found your channel and a lot of the reasons you like having physical games, i echo the same sentiments! Something about holding it in your hand just feels so rewarding, let alone having a nice limited or collectors edition to display, that and physical media all the way, i only go digital if the game is only getting said release without a physical planned, even than some see retail releases down the line! Looking forward to more of your videos!
Your collection is really really nice and it’s a good size. I have around 8000 games and every system from the 70s to today but your collection is nice and organized. Good job.
same as every other system, they are unforgettable to you because you had ps2. i had to check what what games ps2 had and i already forgot most of them.
@@acr4715 i was but we don't do "eras" on pc, to me it was just unremarkable couple years as any other, good games kept coming out and i kept playing them as always.
Always cool to see another person's small collection. Been gaming on pc since windows 95. Have all my cds (and floppys from then to half life 2 which included the steam launcher) Got a nes challenger edition as a kid also. Have the og box system and light guns. Maybe around 8 games. Then came the Sega genesis from goodwill. Have about 5 games. Kept all that. Got a ps1 and maybe around 10 games. Think my parents yard saled all those. My dreamcast was short-lived.around 7 games before I sold it. Next was a purple translucent Gameboy color which I got to experience pokemon for the first time with fire. Sold that and the games but have the attachments still Then GB advance. Maybe had 10 games sold it all except the carry case from nintendo. Got a gba sp with the money My ps2 and xbox original had about 10 to 20 games each. Sold. My 360 probably had the most physical disks but got the most gaming out of my life on it. Got slightly competitive in gears of war and halo 3. Even got the red ring and sent it back to Microsoft. But Sold it to get the Xbox one Xbox one vcr edition had about 10. Sold it once I realized my i5 4690k and gtx 960 can run better than it can. Ps3 got it to mainly to play the ratchet and clank, diablo 3 and last of us. Then red boxed gta5 which I never returned and paid full priced for. Sold also. Had a psp for a short time back when I had a zune. Maybe 5 games. It was cool. My wii ive had since it came out about 10 physical disks but ive since softmodded it and have way too many games and emulators on it. Kept that one still hooked up to my living room tv. Lastly bought a switch oled for this year's black friday along with 7 physical games. Mario, Kirby, harvestella, fc25, pokemon violet and zelda to name some. Primarily keeping the nintendo consoles and everything else can be on pc which now is a ryzen 7 5700x3d with a nvida 1660s. Between epic, steam, gog, amazon and more giving out free stuff I have way too many digital stuff to even look at. Physical is where it's at. You buy a game beat it then get another if you want. Digital way too many backlogs I'll never get around to.
My sibling absolutely loves Pets Cats 2! I was genuinely surprised by how in-depth the game is, not just a 'we have Nintendogs at home' kind of experience. Lately, I’ve been playing two of my all-time favourites: Tony Hawk's Underground (PS2) and Pokémon Emerald (GBA)
No Kingdom Hearts or Silent Hill in the ps2 collection, Im going to die. Awesome collection regardless. Happy that you still got your FF9. Could never find mine!
Having flashbacks watching this and seeing Monster Rancher 4. The game is one of my favorites. I really loved summoning different monsters by inserting different game discs. Great video!! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Fun little collection, thanks for sharing! Appreciate how much connection you have to your physical stuff. Based on my experiences, I'd guess the GameStop employee didn't realize they gave you the wrong Harvest Moon case/game combo. Never played Monster Rancher 4, but I played the heck out of 1 & 2 and a good bit of 3. Great games! Dark Cloud 2 is a cult classic, rarely hear about it, but when it comes up its ALWAYS positive.
Physical collections are super important especially for the reason you mentioned with licenses! Monster Rancher was always the game that I would consider for rental at my local store, but never did get. That sounds really intriguing with the Catz game I always adore when some licensed games are just completely out there. Also yay a FFIX enjoyer!
You've got, like, an Aubrey Plaza thing going. Anyway, I like the physical games too. I don't have any physical games left for consoles or pc but I have quite a few Gameboy cartridges, both for the original Gameboy, Gameboy Color and GBA. Recently bought a modded GBA with backlight 🥰
I comment on a previous video of yours… let me know what you would think about being a cohost for an upcoming series idea I have about gaming and Game collecting. Every so many years I scout for a new cohost and I think you are definitely hitting the top of the bar enjoy the rest of your day as I will be enjoying your beautiful content. (And lovely eyes 👀)
I think there are definite pros and cons to physical vs. digital game ownership, but this video made me realise that I'll never lose any of my Steam games due to a dog bite 😂
I could never really get into that, loved earlier Final Fantasy games like VI, VII and other Square-Enix games like Chrono Trigger, but played it on my PS3 ages ago and it just seemed too linear and constrained for my taste. A beautiful game (at the time anyway), just didn't really feel like a Final Fantasy game to me.
@ yeah I can absolutely understand this, it really feels a bit different to the old ones, but for me, the gameplay, the characters (especially Lightning my crush) the story, the enemies and the music are just peak, some of the level are also have a nice design, it could be way more complex with the crystal sphere but none the less it’s an awesome game for me, 13 with the complexity of 10 would be my absolute highlight
@@TunerGirl_2JZ yeah, I liked the character of Lightning and the unique crystal sphere leveling, I just didn’t like that the game seemed to hem you in on these paths with seemingly little room for exploration.

The PS2 came out during the wild west era of game development, so much innovation and variation because devs could take many more risks. Sadly we aren't likely to see an age like that again.
4:30 Something like that happened to me, I saved up to buy Ghost Trick brand new and the person at GS spent 20 minutes looking for the box, until finally they gave me the DS cart in a paper sleeve. My highschool self didn't realize I was getting conned, basically. At least you got a box!

Monster Rancher 2 is one of my favorite games of all time. I bought 1&2 DX in September, and the Steam recap showed that it was the one I played the most this year lol Btw if you like JRPGs you have to play Romancing SaGa 3
Cool collection! This year, I started collecting physical copies of games I have nostalgia for. Mainly GBA and NDS games. When I was young, we didn't have the money to buy plenty games, so I had a few, well until Flashcards were a thing. But still, I had great memories of games I only played on flashcards or via emulation and now I really like to have a physical copy of those. So with adult money the collecting began😅
I unfortunately got rid of my DS a while back and find myself missing having physical games more than i thought i would. i do like having my Steam Deck as a handheld, but it's still not the same. great collection!
I've actually never heard of Monster Rancher before, but I always enjoy hearing people talk about their favorite games. Definitely adding it to my backlog! Edit: added Legend of Dragoon and Dark Cloud as well but you'll have to sell Petz Catz 2 a bit more, full video when? 👀
Yugioh worldwide edition and monster rancher for the gba were definitely some of my favs back in the day hehe monster rancher was very popular back in the 90s! it had its own anime and everything :)

I see you like Pokemon. You might like Shin Megami Tensei IV for the 3DS! You collect demons and fuse them into different demons and fight beside them as you are one of the controllable characters of four, and you can switch your demons on the go. Can't really go wrong with III or V: Vengeance (you can get them on the N Switch), but IV is something else. IV: Apocalypse is super good as well(3DS). In IV, after you get to a point at like 3 hours in, it just sucks you in with the music, atmosphere and everything. Not to mention the fight system as well. FF IX and The Legend of Dragoon are favorites of mine as well.
I actually played Dark Cloud 2 for the first time last month and it was pretty good. I didn't think it was as amazing as some people say it is because while it's great at first eventually it gets VERY grindy and the story falls into certain tropes later on that I've seen dozens of times before. Overall it's a pretty decent RPG, just not the 87 it has on Metacritic.
respectable taste, yessssss my favorite ff is 9 too edit: if you don't know about it, you might get a kick out of The Third Age, a LotR game in the style of FF
Try to get your hands on Shadow Hearts and Shadow Hearts 2: Covenant for the PS2. As much as I loved Final Fantasy from 4 to 12, the Shadow Hearts games blows them out of the water. They might cost a decent penny on ebay nowadays.
some of these i had no idea existed, seems you had very unique taste as a kid when choosing games. I always went for the big franchises resident evil, god of war, halo etc.. Have you tried emulating them on pc?
Better to have a smaller collection of games you really like/are actually going to play than be one of those people who just obsessively collects games to have the requisite "wall of games" behind them/possibly as some potential future "retirement plan". Collectors have ruined the market for people who actually enjoy games.

This is why GOG is the best. All games are DRM- free and has a preservation program.
The "preservation program" is nonsense to engender support for people who hate DRM & the whole "Stop killing games movement".
