- In this Hermitcraft episode, PearlescentMoon enlists the help of TangoTek for a furnace array machine, sets to adding a graffiti touch on Impulse and Bdub's Cyberpunk wall and comes across some concerning notes in the shopping district.

Yeah, Pearl using them as lighting + Joe using like 20 in his base are really driving up the sales
Then there’s Gem, who just bought her first beacon today for regular ol digging
There's always going to be sales so people dont have to move them around nearly as much

@@erwan6227that’s just how the commissioning process works with making customized stuff. Artists do multiple versions a good chunk of the time to make sure it’s coming across how the person wants.
Oh no, he was serious _before_ the permit. He was planning to go big on fireworks from day 1. I even recall him saying he was willing to trade a higher value permit to Mumbo for the fireworks.

I think Pearl is about to start a Wiccan cult. This could mesh well with the "solar punk" theme.
Make sure you initiate other hermits under a full, Minecraft moon, and paint them white (they use a bleached/faded grey skin) for the ceremony.
That way, you strike a balance between the practical dependence/worship of the sun, and the spiritual appreciation of the moon as an indicator of when you should sow, and harvest.

In season 7 the shopping district fell under the jurisdiction of the mayor where Cub petitioned the mayor to have every shop have an ender chest. It has since then been the cub rule.

Cub has definitely mentioned it before then he would often say its not really a shop without an ender chest but yes season 7 did see it made official through mayor scar 😊
I do believe Scar plans to enforce this with the Hermit Permit Enforcement Agency
Actually I think the Cub Rule predates Season 7. Though that _was_ the season he went around setting fire to every shop without one.

And she is taking it easy; her starter house last season had a giant organic on it and her early-game profits were measured in stacks of diamond blocks! Heck, she hasn't even really moved up the hillside yet!
Cub also needs to be told that as well, since he killed the dragon in episode 3, has a massive firework factory, all sorts of farms and whatnot, he's not taking it slow it would seem.
Most Hermits are going "easy," but hermits being hermits, they don't really...
Your "starter" shop is so good everyone thought it was permanent, if they had known it was not you would be getting a notice soon about the pop-up-purge. The cub rule has been in effect for several seasons because everyone likes it I guess.

IDK if Cub is an artist or any kind, but speaking as a commission artist, Pearl and Cub's dynamic is the epitome of the perfect commissioner and commissionee relationship: two artistically inclined minds both brain storming creative ideas that give clear and concise communication back and forth. Never feel bad about asking a commission artist questions or suggestions because, if they are a good one, they'll love the feedback and any sense of challenge it gives!!!

Absolutely spot on. The worst is either a commissioner who says "oh that's good" when they don't mean it or one who cannot even begin to explain why they don't like something or what they want done. It's SO frustrating! Even just a simple comment like "I want it more _____" is better than nothing.
When I've gotten commissioners like Pearl was in the past, they energize me so much to get exactly what they're seeing. It turns into a puzzle that I HAVE to solve.

ehh. Impulse in season 7 had a whole ring road around his base lined with beacon lamps. Definitely the most Hermitcraft thing though!
It’s honestly not that difficult with a wither skeleton farm for the skulls, a gold farm/piglin barter farm for the soul sand and obsidian, and villagers for the glass. Especially now with the auto crafter, the hardest part is grinding out the stars at a wither cheeser. It takes a bit to get that infrastructure set up, but once you have it you can crank out stacks of beacons pretty easily. It definitely helps to be on an SMP, though, since each of those farms will require some AFK time.

As of the last video I've seen from Cub, he's never gotten his mail shulkers (and Impulse has too many but he wants to try to send them out as packages instead of just donating them back to the post office). You may need to set up a box exchange point in the post office where people can stick their extra mail shulkers and pick up more when they're lacking.
Fun fact: it is actually possible to do eco-friendly natural graffiti with moss! There's a mixture you can make that can be painted onto a surface and after a bit of time, the moss will grow in that pattern.
As an aspiring Graffiti Artist myself who's been delving into the scene I can tell you that Solar Power mural is absolutely within the bounds of the artform (I wouldn't worry about the word shapes, the style is inherently difficult to replicate on that scale with voxels) because people do lots of murals _and_ Graffiti is at its roots about making a statement in retaliation against corporatization. Honestly a perfect match with the Solarpunk themes which you illustrated beautifully.
I love how the focuses in the second half of the episode, with the graffiti protesting the takeover of the natural land and the rebelling against the absurd rule placed upon the starter bone shop, both lean into the ‘punk’ part of the solarpunk-can’t wait to see where this goes!

Pearl and Tango hanging out together is one of my favourite pairings on HC ever :D Very wholesome AND I'm learning a lot about redstone!
Pearl if you want to be cheeky against the poe poe just stick the ender chest in the driver's seat behind the glass. XD

Seeing as how the POE POE was designed so that Grian doesn't have to deal with stuff, make sure to insist on seeing their manager when the POE POE comes around again.
Side note, starter/pop up shops are in the process of being banned, so they'll be coming after your trucks from a different angle soon.
Remember, they are from the government and are here to help...
I don't see the trucks as pop up shops. Tho they are smaller in size they are incredibly detailed, well fleshed out and fit in nicely along the street. It's not like they are a couple of chests under a market stall or quick and easy pile of blocks. My vote is they stay!
I agree, they are great! But Pearl said in this video that she didn't plan to use them long term.
Given that they do fit the street, maybe she could leave the trucks but move the shop part to a more permanent location.
Watching from Cub's perspective, it was really cool that you took such an interest in getting the exact firework you wanted. :D
Aww I've seen comments about how Pearl's a picky client when it came to the custom fireworks but I get the sense that Cub enjoyed the challenge of making it work out. It may have seemed like... work... but it also could have been a fun creative puzzle
I've noticed that artistic people when asking for critiques on their work want genuine advice, and not a simple it's nice. So I do think both Cub and Pearl had fun making that firework from and artistic perspective.

If there is something I like about Pearls builds, it's her ability to mix beehives, campfires and barrels and some usually very unused blocks into one build where everything somehow fits together. I wonder how long until Impulse will start doing something about the ever growing crafity issue.
Right?! Joel does similar with his builds and Cleo does too with their armour stands. I can't understand how they're SO creative.
Honestly, most of them are just god tier builders.
Bdubs is obviously a prodigy, amazing at detailing. Grian is great at making very good looking palettes with cool structures. Scar is just insane, consistently making the most impressive and massive builds. I could go on and on and on.

I like the concept of Solar Punk Pearl silently protesting against the industrialization of the Cyberpunk city. XD
Those cyberpunk city grafittis are really popping off, it gives this already amazing area the touch of many other Hermits that are not involved with the actual project, making it more of a community work. I love these kinds of mish-mashes of styles a lot.
I really appreciate you showing your tango bits. I have been trying to learn redstone and haven’t found a good vibe learning along with anyone. When she was talking about the sun/moon switchup on her mural, my brain immediately went "moon.. punk? Lunarpunk?Lunarpunk! like solarpunk's darker aesthetic twin!!" and after a bit of a google dive I think I've just found a new artistic style to obssess over
as someone who lives near Detroit, MI, which has over 1000 public murals, your solar power mural is amazing! i can definitely see it on the side of a concrete wall (which there are many of in Detroit lol) and the colors fit perfectly! i wonder if you did this on purpose, but it reminds me of Lorde's Solar Power album art!

Due to the way the mailing service works, it's bound to happen that some hermits will occasionally run out of shulker boxes like Cleo did here. Maybe you could set up a small section in the post office where hermits can return some of their mail-shulkers if they've been receiving too many, and others can take them out if they need them?

You can actually get Cub at his own game. He doesn’t have a permit to run a patrol squad so you can tell him you are taking it to the permit office. And then cub will have to deal with an annoyed and grumpy Grian which would be absolutely funny!

While graffiti is often used to express frustration with current issues in a society just as much can be used to express hope and ideals for the future. And its not a singular style you can find many many examples of beautiful graffiti murals just like yours ❤

Your mural is soooo good! I love it! Cub loved all your feed back on the firework. He LOVES making them and because you understood them well enough to have an opinion you were likely his favorite.
When Tango and Pearl were looking at and troubleshooting the furnace array, I recognized the music from when I played Toon Blast. It's been forever since I heard it, but it sounds just as nice now as it did then.
Thanks to the fact that I'm studying abroad in Japan I can finally watch your videos right when they came out.

Ive never seen a moon side of Solarpunk but you could be harnessing of bounced off sunlight aka moonlight or the power of the tides which is technically renewable moon power heh
And since its futursitic you could do those at smaller scales than you need irl

Hi, architecture student and urban planning enthusiast here who's studied sustainable urbanism!
On the moon thing, moonlight and natural nighttime is a part of sustainable living and a solarpunk theme! Light pollution at night is a big issue in cities, and having streetlights be redder and pointing towards the earth instead of the sky helps nighttime animals navigate and disturbs human sleep cycles less. Moon phases are also a small but not unimportant part of animal behaviour and allowing that natural light to come down can make urban areas just that more in-sync with nature. If you're interested in light pollution look at how Dunedin replaced its streetlights with red LEDs and the impact that made.
Plus, you're Pearlescent*_Moon!_* It's only fitting to incorporate the moon into your build and theme. Maybe you can lean into fantasy-sci-fi and make something to harness the moonlight as a strange and unique energy...
It's so great to see people trying things out of their element. Pearl just as easily could've just let Tango do his thing, but she's trying to learn, and that's great.

The W in the "Solar Power" mural kind of looks like a Bee, which looks absolutely perfect.
with so many people going for a similar build style this season it would have been really cool if everyone had come together to build a big city. meaning like everyone build there own neighborhoods connected to each other with maybe a raised wall subway platform separating each persons area.
One suggestion: a Spore Blossom would look great attached to the leaves on the left half of the graffiti. Looks amazing regardless!
Your Mural is just fantastic. I did see it in another hermitcraft episode and was amazed how much it stood out from far away. So nice seeing you build and the cub interaction was top notch love aeeing how passionate he is with getting it just right. Pearl, as always. You are just such a great artist using Minecraft as their medium.

I like how she ties the celestial themes together at 27:25. Moonlight is, after all, reflected sunlight, and tidal power from the moon is as essential to green energy and "solarpunk" as the sun's rays.
You should totaly occupy one of the buildings in the steam punk city, board it up and solar-punkify it! :D

I actually really like how you're using the Beacons as decorative magic-solar lighting; they work really well. Top notch graffiti for the CP city, too! I get the impression that Cub's enjoying the challenge of making specialized Fireworks for each Hermit. Trial and error are normal when making art, so too with the quintillion+ combination potential of the Minecraft Firework Star. 😄
You should put another item frame under theirs with a book containing a strongly worded letter
Pearl, you can fix the problem of the first Furnaces getting more items by just putting down more powered rails.

I think it would be neat to sell limited edition stamps in the office. Maybe a gold border stamp for each Hermit could be a reward for buying stamps in bulk, or as some rare drop. Maybe non-functional decorational stamps could be sold to commemorate certain achievements.
Anything that doesn't stack with the standard stamps would have to be just decorative and not functional, just because of how item filters work. Would be fun though!
34:54 I think its called the Cub rule because in Season 7 it was I think, Cub had taken it upon himself to make sure that there are Enderchests in ever shop in the shopping district
An actual ender chest made to look like an ATM on the corner would be super cute (similar to how grian made that banner which makes the post look like an actual postbox)
Everybody talking about how expensive the beacons are, but honestly the copper trapdoors are crazier.
Cub has a factory to craft the fireworks automatically! So he doesn't have to bother with all the crafting however it implies some limitations (I think the limit of 3 breaks, for instance).
Finally, Grian is not in the Resistance but in the governement. This season is gonna be good!

Tango’s panicked noises at 12:00 when the build isn’t symmetrical was so funny I alos get panicked when my builds aren’t symmetrical at times 😂
