Leopard is getting fat. It'll be a 70+ tonne vehicle with the A8 version. We desperately need a new platform built from the ground up for the 21st century.

No...not 70+ but nearly 70tons. But it does not matter If 65 or 69. For Central Europe No Problem and the a8 gets more Power. 1600hp. It is possible to reduce under 60 tons on the same Plattform with better Protection. You can See on Leopard 2 Arc 3.0 or Panther. And under 60tons is absolute OK for the midrange future

If you actually would have listened they actually got a 10 ton weight reduction on the Leo 2 ARC 3.0. So going forward there is still potential on the platform.

It was no good decision for kmw to make a fusion with french company nexter. French never build best Tanks but they have the unpleasant habit of wanting to push through their poorer technology in the product. That is Not good for the result. The Leo was built to be the best on Market. But with the french and their 50% it will be not good. And we see. For us and Germany...it was better that kmw and Rheinmetall cooperate. Finally Germany will Push Rheinmetall and not KNDS and that is sad for the German Part of KNDS but the right way. We dont need the french to make the best Tank technology...it is more a Problem.

@@avay8726 Russia handed over about 2.000 tanks to Ukraine because the crews didn't know how to handle a tank. So a hand full losses from the Ukrianain side is not relevant.
Add MUSS 2.0 and Strike Shield like on the Panther and the Rheinmetall optics as well as the RH 130 and you have a really good tank

Wij hebben altijd anti drone systemen die onze voertuigen en troepen verdedigen.
Russische/Soviet tanks werken niet tegen drones, correct. Tanks van 30/40/50 jaar oud. Deze zijn nieuwer dan elke tank die nu in Oekraïne bezig is.

The crew should, the gun/ammo not. But the engine should be fine aswell, so they still could retreat with the tank.

@@cte4dota Every tank can be hit by a drone, A tank alone is a sitting duck. That's why tanks should work together with SHORAD systems.
@@bertnl530 Yeah but they Clam Leopard is superior to any Russian tank and war did not shown that. In fact more modern Russian tanks proven to be way better. You just add system after system and they all fail. Its just sad.
@@cte4dota Funny that you use "modern" and "Russian" tanks in the same sentence. All current Russian war tanks have been designed by the Soviets, none by Russians. The only Russian tank to this day is the Armata which has never seen action, but lots of parades.
