    Question: Why does the interviewer address to her in the formal way (вы), yet she also calls her "Masha"?

    • @BoostYourRussian
      @BoostYourRussian  3 роки тому +25

      Such a great question! I didn´t even notice this interesting little detail. This is definitely not common and not the right way to politely address someone (it should be "Мария" and "вы"). My guess is that the girls have met before and this is not their first interview together, so the talk is kind of semi-formal. Maybe it´s the policy of the TV channel to use "вы" during interviews

      I also have a question: In the Voice Ukraine Kids, as the show title says, there are kids singers. Even though some kids were even under 10 they sometimes used вы when asking questions after the performance. Why is that?

      @@BoostYourRussian Using a short name is a form of affection. If mixed with some formality, its both endearing and respectful. Вы is proper when you have just met the person, but especially with two people of the same age, after youve had a conversation it makes sense to add a little warmth.

    Her voice is like a that of a purring cuddly bear cub. I don’t speak a word of Russian but I can easily hear modesty, demureness, strength and tenderness in her voice. Other lady also has very pleasant timbre. If Russia decided to invade Spain, I would be the first to open the doors 🇪🇸 and organise a welcoming fiesta 🎉❤ in remembrance of Jose de Ribas y Boyons. 🇪🇸✊🏼🇷🇺
