- The other "Household Sounds" film, featuring windchimes, woman snoring, boy pretending to be an airplane, a man practicing his trumpet and another man driving away on his motorcycle.
Hmm. That's odd. I saw both as a kid. I remember the other one had a faucet dripping, A father praticing a song on a violin, A mother vacuuming, A teenager listening to a song on the radio, And a subway train going by. And I also remember this film too. Great memories.
Went down a rabbit hole of watching Classic Sesame Street segments. This one and it's counter part had interesting parallels in my eye on a personal level and both remind me of my mother-in-law. My mother in law has a dirt bike (still rides it at age 58) and it sounds similar to the motorcycle in this segment. Also the other household sounds segment where there's a young girl listening to music while her mom vacuums, that girl looks very similar to how she would've looked as a teenager in the early 80s.
Great stuff, how the lady could sleep through the noises made around the house really amazes me.

@Brendan Williams Maybe she put cotton in her ears to prevent any noises from waking her up or, another person mentioned here that she was probably a heavy sleeper which is why she's snoring.
The wind chimes before the snoring used to make me nervous because the snoring person's face didn't show until I heard that person snore. Every part after the snoring sounded pretty funny to me.

The airplane boy is freakin hilarious in this! I alwayw remembered this cuz I always thought he was sobbing at the end?? Or was it laughter???

This one particularly sticks out in my mind. Love the trumpet playing. This whole video is so soothing.

🎺The trumpet is very soothing. 💭 I think the boy pretending to be an airplane is kind of cute too. I really liked the household sound clips both this one and the one with the old man playing the violin🎻 Very calming 💆

Thank you for sharing this, it took me back to my childhood. I remember these interesting scenes on Sesame St. Kinda artistic, in a way.
Some people can sleep through just about any noise 'cause some people are heavy sleepers.
Indeed, that woman is most likely probably one of them, given how loud her snoring is.

I will always remember this clip by the dirt bike, I thought it was so cool and wanted to be on it! I thought the house was near a train track for some reason and remember a kitchen (?) and vacuum, but maybe those are just false memories...?
Those other moments are on "Sounds Around The House 1." I just came across it while looking for this one, so take another look and you should find it without too much trouble.

Either this and the other household films are from at least the 1980s, or they are from the 1970s, and in which case, I would have forgotten about them, somehow. Still, entertaining ways, to teach the great variety of sounds, around your house! BTW, I hope someone has and posts this similar film, from the 1970s, on various sounds, like the crashing of waves on the shore, a clock ticking, your heartbeat, a cricket chirping at night, etc,,(and twice, you hear the narrator's voice say,"Listen!")The second time the narrator says,"Listen!" what we see, is a boy in bed, at night,(the sound of the cricket chirping, part), then the camera closed in on the boy's ear, as the sound of a train comes on--other sounds were a fast copying machine, a sledgehammer, an old ringing school bell, and finally, a kids' marching band, playing "Yankee Doodle." It was on UA-cam, but seems to have been pulled. Anyway, that one was shown a lot, in the 1970s, on Sesame Street. If anyone has it,please post it.

Great to see this one up here solo. I know it was part of one of the episodes Deanmo23 uploaded. If my memory serves, I saw this one a lot more frequently as a kid than the other one.

Or, alternatively, she's just a heavy sleeper, as evidenced by her snoring.

@@Garrettk41 I would guess if that was the next door neighbor on the motorcycle, his house would be shown since he was leaving on this families driveway where the motorcycle guy was probably a family member.
