- If you have shopped with us before or are an avid Zimbabwe collector then I am sure that you are already familiar with the infamous Zimbabwe 50 & 100 Trillion banknotes. However there are many more banknotes that were released before and after the 50 & 100 Trillion Series. This video will guide you through the history of previous generations of Zimbabwe Dollars up until present day. An interesting fact about all of the Zimbabwe banknotes that have been released is that the majority of them feature the Chiremba Balancing Rocks on the front. A common theme among the Zimbabwe Dollar is that the denominations kept growing as time went on and eventually the monetary series ended up being devalued and new one released afterwards. What do you think about the history of Zimbabwe banknotes?

I live in Zimbabwe, and I really want everything to go back to relying on foreign currency. It's better that way and it's best for everyone.
Reliance on foreign currency is better for those who are buying and selling. That is, it's better for the people. But it's less useful to the government that would like to be able to spend more than what they are able to raise in taxes. Sadly, I think Zimbabwe will again see its inflation go out of control as long there is patronage and corruption.
I have 50 billion Zimbabwe dollar of 2008, is it worth now?
I'd like to see quadrillion on currency
@@rohanvachhani5061 yeah... for collectors 😀

Zimbabwe banknotes are really beautiful. Shame they are worthless for commerce.
They are still good collector and historical pieces too
good presentation, you omitted a family of Bearer cheques which were in circulation at the height of hyper inflation in the country but were phased out in 2009. they were the first to printed in 2003.
Very beautiful banknotes and informative video.
Glad you like them!
What a fantastic summary!
Can you do a video of the the new Zimbabwean bond notes($10,20 and50)
There is 100 now 😂😂😂😂
Maybe it's the Chiremba balancing rocks, we need to change that design!😂😂

New Zimbabwe currency launched yesterday 05/04/2024. that green 500bank note in the last series never got to see the light of day day #enterZiG
Hello, yes we are informed as well about the new currency release. We're keeping a close eye on it.
What's even more sad is they don't even print it out themselves, they have Germans doing that for them... I swear
Creating secure banknotes takes expensive technology, especially as counterfeiters are always trying to keep up with new technologies. That's why banknotes globally have always had production concentrated in a few rich countries. Consider that half the world, especially in the western hemisphere, used the American Banknote Company in New York to produce their currencies! When, under Saddam Hussein, Iraq was unable to secure the services of outside banknote printers, their currency became terribly easy to counterfeit! Notes from that era look like they could have been produced by any small-town print shop that was able to print advertising circulars!
There is a crazy story about a plane full of cash and a dead body that got intercepted by another African country on its eat from Germany to Zimbabwe.
I have a 50 billion Dollar Reserve Bank of zimbabwe Note. Is it worth anything now

How can we help you?
If they didnt knock off any zeros that 100 trillion note would be insane
Yeah short lived life. Their largest banknote in circulation is $100 Zimbabwe Dollars
So is 50 billion dollar now working ?
Its out of circulation since 2008
So in Zimbabwe … the country used many other foreign currencies in Zimbabwe … the US dollar… pound .. euro… etc…. So their OWN Zimbabwe currencies were devalued by their own retailers … BUT Zimbabwe STOP using other countries currencies recently … so their own $$$ won’t be hyper inflated anymore .. Africa is rich in natural resources btw 😂😊
Yes you are correct, so far their latest currency has been stable compared to previous generations
I have 100 trillion dollars zembabwe 24k gold reserve gold at herare bank how can I change it
Maybe this authentication info can help: www.banknoteworld.com/novelty-zimbabwe-note-info.html
Bearer cheques did not require ID to cash.
Not the regular bearer cheques. But what about the series of traveler's cheques? I believe they did, and they were effectively cancelled upon use, right?
Plz find out the reason why 100 Trillion Zimbabwean Dollars became equal to US 40 cents... How n when the sabotage happened...!?! 😊😎
Well, all the Zimbabwe dollars were worth progressively less day by day. That's what a hyperinflation is. The government kept printing more and more money to pay its employees and for goods, and if there is more money but the economy is the same size, the money is worth less and less. So the real sabotage was by the Reserve Bank of ZImbabwe and the Mugabe government, along with the plunge in agricultural productivity due to the dismembering of large productive farms.
I to had a five hundred million dollar note if i sell it how much ill get in usd
Won't be revealed until Swift bank is out qfs in from Trump
