You need to consider the difference in years when both stadium were built. The club bought up a number of houses at the South Bank end of rhe ground, but realised they could only increase the capacity by a few thousand. I loved the old ground, but the club had to move to meet demand. At least they didn't go through with trying to share the new Wembley stadium.
I was fortunate enough to see Arsenal play at Highbury during the stadium's final season; The view from my seat wasn't great, which was true for many seats in the stadium due to the steep sloping of the roof and upper tier. Aesthetically and in terms of amenities (or lack thereof), it felt like any other old school stadium in the country. There's so much history wrapped up in Highbury but the club was in dire need of something bigger and more modern and redeveloping the existing stadium simply wasn't an option. The Emirates is a world class stadium and, now that it's approaching 20 years old, I appreciate that it feels more lived-in and "Arsenalised" than it did before. During the barren years between Arsenal moving to the Emirates and the 2014 FA Cup final ending the trophy drought, the Emirates definitely felt a bit soulless, like it could have belonged to any club (Benfica maybe?). The Emirates is also Arsene Wenger's legacy. The impetus to build it wouldn't have existed without his taking Arsenal to new heights on the pitch and all the work he did off it. It's been overshadowed a bit now by the new Wembley and the Spurs toilet bowl and is probably in need of some renovations but it's still undoubtedly one of the best stadiums in the country.
Is it really surprising with the weather we get in The U.K. it's just red shows the where & tair more than other coulers Sunderland had the same issue. Keep Safe.
Just feel like Arsenal could’ve found a way to redevelop. I know it was listed but just hard to imagine the power of a football club not figuring out a way. The fans so close to the pitch at Highbury was truly something special
And.. yes the one you know I'd be waiting for. The house that Arisen built! As always well done. Had I had the chance to be there I think I could have sat there just picturing favorite players/ games in my head. One day, someday I'll get that chance or at least that's the dream for this Yankee Gooner it's definitely on the ol bucket list. Thanks again Sam you made my day. Also any plans for an Ireland trip would love to see and learn about the Clubs there as I have very little knowledge about any of them.

The place is small. Compared to malls in Indonesia. It's very small. Stadiums in Indonesia are also huge. Maybe because the London area is already full so the place is made in moderation. The most important thing is that the stadium can fit a lot.
They forgot to build a home end get rid of the plush boxes from left to right in the North bank and make a big sloping stand from top to bottom that would be a real North Bank.

You need to go on a Legend Tour around the stadium. Instead of worrying about the cost, view it as an experience. You also get to access more areas. I'm guessing you didn't make it to where they show off the gold Premiership trophy otherwise I'm sure that would've mad the cut?!?

I went to arsenal on Friday before I jumped on the train from the fcas. Mint ground
Brilliant tour Sam I really enjoyed that, I think you should consider doing more of these stadium tours. And remember to get a small loan from your bank 😂. Thanks again
Cheers Peter! The Chelsea tour will be out today!!
The club bought up a number of houses at the South Bank end of rhe ground, but realised they could only increase the capacity by a few thousand. I loved the old ground, but the club had to move to meet demand. At least they didn't go through with trying to share the new Wembley stadium.
the real pride of London cuz they have 13 premier league titles much more titles compared to other London teams
Premier League titles? Nah mate. 13 first div titles. 2 champions leagues in recent memory for Chelsea would indicate you’re more than a bit biased.
@@MCohen28 Arsenal have won more trophies than Chelsea. Fact.
Arsenal are winning this league?
Arsenal will win the league next year 2023/24
first time watching one of your vids, immensely impressed with the editing!
Another great video 📹 👏 👍
We were there for a tour Saturday morning last year. Thought it was superb.
How can you compare the price of the Arsenal Stadium when it was built all those years ago to a Tottenham ground that has just been built?!?!
We also did Arsenal and Chelsea tours successive days. Ours was self guided at Arsenal. Chelsea’s was guided
Your smashing the videos Sam he’s on the road again 😁😁
Briliant stadium. The negatives are just cosmetic.
It's a shit hole
Amazing stadium but it does need a coat of paint. Everything looks pink!
Someone emailed Vinai about those things, and apparently the club is planning a major renovation.
@@xfirefox_x as an arsenal fan I hope this is true
Is it really surprising with the weather we get in The U.K. it's just red shows the where & tair more than other coulers Sunderland had the same issue.
Keep Safe.
@@Daltonian18 they just renovated dressings room how about that 😂😂
I was blown away with the Emirates

“That just goes to show the difference between the two grounds” or price inflation in the last 16 years
I would love to see the stadium grow to a minimum attendance of 70.000
even. 90'000 would be full most weeks. we had 57k for a midweek carabao cup match vs wimbledon😂 arsenal has like a 30,000 person waiting list for season tickets.
@@riyadinho6795 yess i would love that.. we are the biggest club of london we should have the biggest stadium!
@Edraxx R you are the embarrasment of life, you hear me complaining??
amazing edit bro. really enoyed the video
Thank you very much!!!
Loved the London-esque music at the start of the vid. Small loan 🤣🤣
Have you ever thought about doing a stadium tour in America with some MLS clubs? Especially some of the newer ones with European designs and links to some soccer clubs in Europe. I think it might be a cool idea. Yup and I call it soccer I’ll never change lol your local Yank here lol!! I really loved seeing when you were at Fulham. Tons of American legends have played at Fulham. Dempsey, McBride, Bocanegra.
The place is showing sighs of wear and tear in a way that Highbury never did
Good thing they are renovating over the summer 😌😌🤝
That train transition 🥶
The place is small. Compared to malls in Indonesia. It's very small. Stadiums in Indonesia are also huge. Maybe because the London area is already full so the place is made in moderation. The most important thing is that the stadium can fit a lot.
9:42 goosebumps everywhere.COYG!!
They forgot to build a home end get rid of the plush boxes from left to right in the North bank and make a big sloping stand from top to bottom that would be a real North Bank.
Enjoyed this
Bro you can just tap your contactless card (or Apple Watch) to use the tube - it figured out the right amount to charge you. No ticket required
it just needs modernization yeah i agree its not old at just 16 years old however replacing the seating and a fresh paintjob would be a perfect start.
Great tour Sam my friend ❤️👍🏻
Holloway Road tube is closed before games on matchdays, use arsenal, Finsbury Park or highbury and Islington stations
Just found your channel awesome videos love these stadium tour videos
🙌🙌🙌
What worst stadium u been to mine Crewe
When comparing the price of Arsenal stadium to the price of Tottenham you need to allow for inflation!
Don’t forget you cleaning equipment when visiting Tottenham trophy cabinet mate
He will once he finishes cleaning that shithole emiRATS stadium !
Plenty of Trophies in our cabinet , even a few European ones …
Nothing wrong with our Beautiful stadium 🏟
Not as Good as Spurs stadium though.2006 last time Aresnal won the League. Not good enough for a Club the size of Arsenal .Need to get your act together on the pitch mate!
I'm quite a new Arsenal fan, but I'm absolutely obsessed. I live in Finland so I haven't been able to attend a match and won't be able to do it for a long time. Maybe one day!
Great stadium. I did the tour with Perry Groves about 10 years ago
Really I heard from my cousin he went there once and he said it a world class venue and best ground he ever went to
Great work!
Thank you!!
does the arsenal stadium post a class picture of where we could find Jeremy Lynch in?
27 pounds a stadium tour, you would get a 3 course meal in Glasgow for that Sam 😂🤣
You could buy Glasgow for that, but why would you want to?
£27 is cheap. Living in London that's how much I'm expected to pay
@@RMetsy You should be able to watch a match for £27, not just see an empty stadium.
@@sandersson2813 you are able to watch a match for £27. Latest tickets for the Arsenal Leeds game start at £10 for adults if you are quick enough
@@sean3749 How many of those do they sell? 10? 😂 😂
Even #Mo #Salah is doing his running round the stadium @ 15:57 !
You need to go on a Legend Tour around the stadium. Instead of worrying about the cost, view it as an experience. You also get to access more areas. I'm guessing you didn't make it to where they show off the gold Premiership trophy otherwise I'm sure that would've mad the cut?!?
Very good video, well done
The Emirates has got to be the most Aesthetically Pleasing stadium in the Premiership.
the etihad is tbh and im a liverpool fan, but citys ground is quality!
Agreed city is lovely Shame they can’t get the fans in
If u are visiting Chelsea fulham fc is up the road aswell and qpr only teams to have 3 clubs in the same borough i would love to take u around let's make it happen bro
6:50 man staring at you secretly thinking , keep the noise down !
Love a self guided tour. My first stadium tour was Nou Camp which was self guided and I loved it, as long as you want to take photos etc.
Did you run on the pitch naked ?
Emirates will never be a home like Highbury was because the true football fans were priced out of the game. Football is all about the money now The Kronkes don't care about winning trophies unless it involves American Football. Highbury GBNF
Love the Lower Scottish League videos Sam great work mate.
15:57 look at the guy runnnin round the emirates in his liverpool shirt
mo salah
How the hell did you spot that? But yeah there loads of Liverpool and Man Utd fans in London and it winds me up no end.
Logistically and financially it didn't make sense to renovate Highbury. Also the East stand was/is a grade 2 listed building.
Yep - which is why they converted the East Stand to apartments.
It doesn't need improvement it just needs better fans inside it.
