For practice question #2 how is the HPI 4 elements? I got location, duration, and associated s/s. That's 3. Is the CC counted as 1 element? If so I would understand why it's 4 elements.
Chief complaint is separate. I think this is 4 - location, duration, timing (constant sore throat) and signs/symptoms. E/M coding is not very precise and different people come up with different answers.
