@@tropinsmedicalcodingmadeea7551 My exam is on January 24th and I am assuming same guidelines do not apply to PCS but it’s interesting to know if some guidelines apply to coding grafts from arteries and veins?
@@tropinsmedicalcodingmadeea7551 Hello Ms Tropin, I have another question. I noticed you have CCS-P. I would like to know what is the difference between CCS and CCS P? IF I do not pass my CCS exam would I be able to test for CCS-P with the same knowledge?
Don't know if I have any special expertise in these areas. You might contact the professional organizations for these specialties. Often they publish information on coding.
@@tropinsmedicalcodingmadeea7551I think we're confused because your question doesn't really work. Saphenous arteries are not used as grafts. +33508 is for harvesting a vein. But 33509 is incorrect because the saphenous artery is not an upper extremity artery.
Great video! Now I can finally code a CABG procedure the right way.
Glad I could help!
I feel like a clown for having not understood this for so long, and then here you come and make it crystal clear in like ten minutes.
Don't feel bad! Its really hard and most people are confused by this. I am glad I could help.

The subject is touched on in the videos on PCS character 7 ad character 4 in the discussion of bypass procedures. Good luck on your exam!

What about minimally invasive cabgs?
There isn't a CPT code for this, so use unlisted code 33999. There is a HCPCS code S2205.
I have several new specialties that I'm trying to learn so if you have any tips on podiatry and retinas I would most appreciate it.

In practice 3 question harvested endoscopy saphenous artery will be coded with + 33509 ?
Its 33508 because it was an endoscopy with video-assistance.
