Hi Steve thanks for the new train video, at the end of the last freight with the oold Soo Line grain of wheat car were 2 Chicago & Northwestern hoppers, one of which you can see its herald pretty well yet
Steve you better hurry up and check out that Tunnel as soon as possible. CSX is already planning to rebuild the Tunnel to accept Double Stacked car's so check it out as soon as you can because before you know it you will miss the tunnel...
Been following live railroad cams from all over a long time. I’m an ex brakeman and model railroader. Quite interesting and this is one of mr favorite spots, Palmer, MA also.
Hey Steve, in Lorton Va., about 1 hour north, you can catch the Auto train. You can put your car or pickup on the train, which runs from Lorton Va. to Orlando. If you have time when you are in/near Baltimore, and you have a few hours to kill, you have to go to the B&O Railroad Museum, It’s right off 95, right near Oriole Park at Camden Yard.
I been there several times. And my wife Jessie her ex husband has a Aunt that lives not far from there. Me and Jessie rode that kind of train before and we had a blast and will be doing it again. From California to New York and then back to California. Me and Jessie sat down at the picnic table and ate. And trust me there was train's going by like every minute.
Belo video , sempre acompanho o movimento de trens em Ashland pela camera existente ai na estacao via UA-cam , adoro trens tanto de carga como passageiros , continue a fazer sempre videos assim amigo. Sou de Sao Paulo , Brazil
To answer your question about that 89' flat car at 19:26. They use it for Maintenance of Way purposes. You can see the MW on the side to the right of the road name and number. I'm a little surprised you didn't stick around for the SB Auto Train that departs from Lorton up north from where you were. Either way keep up the great work.
The Tropical container is from Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. Tropical is owned by the Irving family industries, heavily into paper products and lumber, railways, truck lines and ocean shipping. They're the 5th largest landowner in the United States with their holdings in the State of Maine.
HAHAHAA,, That's hilarious to know Tropical isn't tropical at all! They di a dedicated service between Atlanta and Newark New Jersey on that intermodell train plus I've seen them and Pasha Hawaii, which I'm guessing is Hawaii unless they are playing a game too.
If you would get back into eastern PA at all, Reading Blue Mountain and Northern is scheduled to run excursions with their recently restored 2102 steam locomotive. I think it’s running between their main station out of Port Clinton, to Jim Thorpe and points in between.
Ashland has a railfan park near the station they've been building for railfans to hang out at if they don't want to hang out at the station. The running joke on Amtrak is their commuting never really officially starts until they stop in Ashland or if i remember it right. Anyway, one of the most railfan friendly places in the country!
👍👍👍 Hey Steve, did you notice No horn crossing signals in this town. they only gave you the Hi toot. That is so odd to really here the train rolling sounds with out the loud blast of the loco horn. nice clean station and track area. Thanks again. :)
I think I counted 160 with the engines! And that was just on the first one. Such a shame with the vandalism of graffiti on them! If some of those who were talented put it to a better use they could make some money 🤑
Fascinates me how trains pass through built up residential areas with no fencing along side of the tracks. This would not be possible in the UK as some idiots would place objects on the track, believe me I really mean it.
Truckers & railroads keep America going
Great place to watch trains. A must visit for my son and I when we visit family in Richmond VA. To bad the ice cream shoppe across the way is gone.
Great video Steve! Super location. Love to see those loaded coal cars! Excellent commentary also.

About freakin time something gets done with that tunnel. I don't know who is more of an ass, CSX or the City of Baltimore.

Hey Steve, back in the 70s, my dad and uncle used to haul the piggy backs to the rail yards in Chicago, they called them Pigs.
