  • In this video, we delve into the mysterious and tragic story of the Titan submersible disaster, exploring every detail from its inception to the most recent developments.
The Titan submersible, operated by OceanGate Expeditions, was designed to explore the depths of the ocean, specifically the wreck of the Titanic. Despite its ambitious mission, the Titan faced significant scrutiny early on. In 2018, OceanGate’s own director of marine operations, David Lochridge, raised safety concerns regarding the submersible's design, particularly its carbon-fiber hull, which was not subjected to third-party certification or adequate testing. These concerns were ignored, leading to legal disputes and warnings from deep-sea exploration experts and engineers, including those from Boeing.
On June 18, 2023, Titan embarked on its fateful journey to the Titanic wreck, carrying five passengers. Within just 1 hour and 45 minutes, communication was lost with the surface, sparking a massive international search and rescue effort. Tragically, on June 22, the wreckage of the Titan was found near the Titanic site, confirming that the sub had suffered a catastrophic implosion, instantly killing all aboard.
In this video, we also explore the ongoing investigations that have since been launched into OceanGate’s operations and the numerous warning signs that were overlooked, including how safety protocols were bypassed to fast-track expeditions.
We’ll take a closer look at the updates that have emerged, including testimonies from survivors' families, legal actions taken against OceanGate, and how this disaster has raised broader questions about the future of deep-sea tourism.
Join us as we uncover the full timeline, from the initial design to the heartbreaking end, and discuss the crucial lessons the world has learned from the Titan disaster.
Watch now to uncover the truth behind the Titan submersible tragedy.

I would like to add that Stockton wanted to purchase a submarine but was told only a limited quantity were available for purchase. He wanted to preserve history for all of us, including his wife; a descendant of some of those lost on Titanic. Waiting years wasn’t an option as Titanic will not be recognizable too many more years. He was no more crazy than the Wright Brothers, Elon Musk, Richard Branson etc… Many inventors or innovators have died doing what they love. The parachute is one of the greatest inventions of all time even though its inventor died while demonstrating it. Some people have just been lucky. NASA knew what they were doing, yet they lost two different orbiter’s catastrophically. And we all know what happened to Titanic. It’s easy to look like a genius you die.

A really stupid and fool hearty idea for anyone to agree to. An engineer I am not but neither am I an extreme risk taker with experimental new ideas that others in the industry say is not proven to be safe for whatever purpose it ŵas intended for. The world's navy branches have been building steel pulled submarines for years with but a few mishaps, that alone should have told the builder something, "if it works dont' mess with it".

There is a tour of the Titanic on UA-cam that's about an hour and a half long. I couldn't watch it for more than a few minutes because it was too scary to me. Something I find frustrating is how this will bring about new regulations that could potentially stem innovation. The fact that Titan managed 13 dives to the Titanic is proof of concept. If someone was to develop the construction and test it properly, establish limits and ensure suitable safety and communication equipment is installed, there are certainly scenarios where a similar 'type' of vessel could be advantageous.
Had Rush approached it in the correct way, shelved his ego and not let greed make his decisions, Titan could have been the genesis. Instead, he has probably single handedly ended any advances that could have been made in composite pressure hulls for deeper depths.

GRP is glass-reinforced polymer, I think. All plastics are polymer, ie. Nylon.
Using a polymer as the bonding cement for an Abyssal Depths pressure vessel is kind of unexplored chemistry. The epoxy resin might be more exothermically active under pressure: ..it is routinely cured in autoclaves. We are talking about a molecular compound solid, not an elemental molecular matrix. The 'hardened' epoxy gases out to solidify, I daresay hundreds of atmospheres of g-force type pressure is gunna be exothermic and molecular composition of your primary bonding agent, Epoxy, is going to degrade. Even with that Rhino-ply skin, it's dicey she'll keep up under pressure loads of 150bar x80 repetitions plus loiter time. The Titanium end cap flanged tongues, those Right angles invited shear stress points of failure.
The laminar strength of the composite material stood up, unfortunately once its yield strength failed it, failed at Abyssal depth and without fanfare. Steel alloy will fail like hard cheese but you get plenty of indication, a predictable fail trajectory, and some typically some moments spare for emergencies.
Let's go over the material types: (a) Carbon fibre, a Crystalline solid, (b) Epoxy resin, a kind of vinyl polymerase afaik, this is termed an Amorphous solid, further to that it is a compound mixture. Together, the laminar matrix is an aggregation of divergent material properties and their various state equilibria... understand?
Let me illuminate structural notes of the departures from known metallurgy and its accumulated knowledge: ferrous alloys include a solid state "by design" such that the alloying elements will achieve state equilibria with desired properties in the ferrous crystal lattice at the time the metal has taken its final grain growth form. Other types of metal included in the steel's crystal matrix assuredly transition to solid phase at some overlapping thermal equilibrium with the steel's own stages of solidification. They can get hard together and make crystal grains of one another.
This kind of matrix is built into the molecular crystal lattice. That's metallic alloys vs composite laminations of compound molecular matrix vs aggregate mixtures.
The thing is, a compound solid might not stay a contiguously compound solid. It might degrade, or decompose, or decay other, into aggregations of compound bonds and mixtures with no usefull behavioural properties structure.

We dont belong down there and what was there to see really, it was just a thrill and an ability to do something " out of this world" experience. I dont get how PH, as he has been presented, a well renowned explorer, felt safe to go with the Titan, he must have been well aware of the skepticism and the critics from all over regarding this submersible. And Stockton...what to say about him. He was way out of his head from the start it seems. Having dreams and ambitions and wanting to stand out and make a mark as its been said, being innovative. The ecocomy spinning out of control and with that, all safety matters as well. Stuck with something that has cost a fortune and the urge to prove yourself and the "nesessity" to make profit from all of it .He was pretty much chasing passengers it seems, like he was desperate. That thing, needed to pay off and he needed to prove himself. It just all makes you speechless really 💔

*UPDATE (12/2024):* This was clickbait of the highest order. There was no 'body recovered.' That was a reckless and irresponsible claim by the channel because no 'bodies' will *ever* be recovered; those people in the submersible were crushed down to their component molecules when the Titan imploded in less than a millisecond.
But before I go on, I have to express my profound sadness and condolences to the families who lost loved ones in this tragic event, and the least *your* channel could have done would have been to say this to them with the respect they deserve after Stockton Rush stole their family members from them in his 'rush' to find the greatness he did not deserve.
The only thing the Coast Guard report claimed to have gotten was *_"PRESUMED human remains,"_* which they stated required DNA confirmation from the surviving relatives (this means that there was not enough material to be recognisable as a body, so no visual confirmation could be made) At the absolute most, this could have been a fingertip, a tooth or just some pulp they found in the foward end cap that held everything from the interior of the vessel when it burst asunder.
There was a greenish blanket shown that may have had some blood stains, but even enamel might not been able to withstand the crushing pressures. To put it as bluntly as UA-camr and Engineer Scott Manley said, "in this situation, you go from biology to physics in a millisecond."
To the UA-camr who made this, just use your common sense to figure this out: If that pressure crushed a massive carbon fiber hull to visible smithereens, how do you think bones, made of mere calcium fared at such depths?
What do you think that your claims would do to a family member who happens to see your sensational insert on the video?
