I remember back in the day we had some large four wheel bale trailers with turn tables, it was a matter of pride to reverse one of those in to a shed without having to shunt forward. Thank you for the update. It was interesting to note that for the price of two modern balers one could have purchased the Barnby Manor Estate, (1000 acres) near Newark in 1967 for £25000
Nice update Andrew good bit of reverseing there, can remember my first attempt when backing a four wheel trailer into a barn bay with little straw bales on
Nice update Andrew, great to see the balers and chaser at work. Hopefully the weather is going to be good next week so you should get on with more harvesting .
Liked the baling and looking forward to the plough footage. No mention of the TB programme though, very interesting and thought provoking , be good to hear an evidence backed flip side to the discussion ! Baling/straw sales figures would be revealing and satisfying.
Morning Andrew. Cracking update again mate, glad to see your all caught up and it’s all going to plan. We’ve had a bit off an issue down here there as been a few big stacks off bales that have been set on fire buy youngsters which has been a bit off a nightmare.
@@WardysWaffleAndrewWard 100% mate I totally agree with you, pretty sure one farmer has cctv footage so let’s hope they get caught and dealt with buy the police.
Good morning Andrew , I know you don’t tend to Plough , I always used to Plough a quarter or a fifth of my acreage depending on field sizes , roundup first . I found it well worth it for structure and weed control . Hope you have a good autumn for drilling , and a proper winter and spring .
OMG A PLOUGH!! Just need him to do the rest of the farm now😂 We always hedge cut our main rd on a Sunday morning in the dark all lights flashing for visibility. And build a stack of small bales with a pitch roof that didn't fall down,it was build corners right stack will stand.
Looks like self aligning Plummer block bearings so should be beneficial on a long shaft. Worth the investment and proved a worthwhile modification to a number of industrial production machines over the years in my experience. Wardys waffle and his waffler, a plough blimey, your contracting bill must be expensive,,good to see the cover crops going in , your need a 4am start to cut that verge , tom and reuben do some hours for you. Plenty of bales .
In Bolton all garden and food waste goes to a anaerobic digester to generate electricity and a solar farm is on site just off m61 at little hulton in Salford area
Interesting update! Usually you incorporate all the straw into the soil, to avoid blackgrass contamination, and as green manure, right terminology?!? So with baling it’ll just be the stubble… will that make a difference to the nutrition of the soil with less material being chopped and incorporated? As you’ve baled will you need to compensate with a spray or sewage sludge or something?
Good afternoon Andrew Have you seen the latest video from PX farms, I’ve just put 2 + 2 together and realised the James Peck’s cousin Micheal is the same Micheal married or going to marry your daughter. It made me laugh when James asked cousin Micheal why Mr Waffle looked younger than him? 😂 also why he was moonlighting on your videos as well, great entertainment! A bit of tape or baler twine and you can repair anything.always carried a ball of twine in my pocket all the time when on the farm, still do it now and I'm retired.
Watching from 🇺🇸, I didn’t realize so much of the straw went to be consumed at a power station. I don’t fault farmers at all for seeking out any source of revenue available (I would too) but am glad to hear yours goes for livestock bedding. Seems like a better use…
And that’s only one station 😳 ticks the “eco” boxes but would love to see how it actually stacks. Bit like Drax power station only burns “forestry waste” would be funny if it wasn’t yours and my money paying for this con
Trouble with ploughing ahead of cereals event, all loosened soil will compact easier, so if ploughing at 200 mm then that layer will suffer most. Either way might have a look at Cereals 25 due to its location.

They gave us one to evaluate before they launched it and it was in the edge of today’s video. I was going to contact them tbh.
