Nice vid. Came here looking for info on my seawater strainer. It looks awfully small. After watching the vid, I also believe it was added later. It is below the water line and it’s like the prev owner cut the hose and stuck it in. On other diesel boats I had, it was always above the water line. It also looks tiny. I’ll be getting the actual Volvo Penta seawater strainer.

Good work & vid. I now try to stop the oil leak where front pump flange meets the cover, there is a o-ring to seal the oil. I got the o-rig from Volvo dealer as 68x3 mm size but the one on the video seem to me bit thicker maybe 5 mm dia instead of 3mm ? Do you know the size I guess you also replaced that o-ring with the new pump? Thanks

Just replaced my raw water pump thanks to your video 🤙🏻 However, I now hear an intermittent “mrrp” sound as can be heard in the below video, and I get a light “whirring” noise as can also be heard when it runs. Any sense for what this might be and whether it requires attention?
I should add that the new pump came with an o-ring that goes between the pump and the engine. The old pump didn’t have one. I wonder whether this has changed how the gears mesh and that that is the cause of the noise.
