I would say for more awareness be open to asking people about yourself? Like how they experience you or if there are areas of improvement that they can see in your relationship. That can open up conversations but you have to be willing to hear. You also have to weed out people that are looking to put you down but even in these cases there may be a grain of truth in what they are saying.

I am taking this to my therapy session because I had an incident over a yellow dress where I felt great in the dress, but it was not well received or just ignored. I became triggered and after 12 hours of being called every yellow, I drew a boundary and lashed at the first person to cross the boundary in a way that was out of proportion to the way in which the boundary was crossed. When they went low, I went to the Earth's core. Now to be truthful, I still am not sorry I said what I said, but I will acknowledge the response was out of proportion. The work I need to do is build a resolve that is impenetrable because folks gone talk. My feelings are hurting and I am tired of being depressed because people are peopling.
