Even my non bus-enthusiast friends were asking why SG don’t even have the practice of preserving flagship bus models like this one. And I replied, “because LTA is stupid” 😂 😂
This is so sad, I lived in Singapore from 1999 till 2012 and Hispano Habits were my absolute favourite buses. Its a shame they are all gone now, they look so modern and even futuristic despite being over 20 years old 😢
But the hispano habits was permanently removed from revenue service. Some of them got scrapped while some of them got deregistered and sent to a different country.
My childhood friend, gone into pieces. The most fun bus to ride during your revenue service days, sadly you left this earth 3 years ago and left a legacy in the whole of the Transport Industry. Its time for you to rest now and remember your service to your homeland. Rest well, old friend. Thank you for your service since 2000. RIP (2000-2020) (btw this doesn’t look like Kiat Lee, is it another scrapyard?)
Why scrap? Putting it on-sale would be a better option than rather a destruction :( The Netherlands would be very interested of buing a vehicle like this one!
Sad to see bendy are uncommon in sg as they can transport alot of passengers when on route, but sad to see old buses are scrapped as old bus model are best in the past
@@LGLegendGM No because LTA thinks that bendy buses take up space on the roads. For example, 912 to WDL Checkpoint has to turn right after Blk 511 Bus stop. As a bendy that has to turn during traffic jams, the bus takes up to 4 lanes causing cars to miss the green light and create an even bigger jam. As of 2018, LTA will no longer buy more bendy buses due to this problem. You still have a chance to ride a bendy now before its too late.
Seeing bendies getting scrapped is more sad in my opinion considering how rare they are now in SG and how lta dislike of bendies. Ofc i still get sad if single decks or double decks get scrapped.
Ah yes...is that Singapore's last Non-Wheelchair Accessible Bus/High-floor in public passenger service? These buses I believed were retired in 2020, almost 3 years ago...and I'm quite sad to see this although I have never been to Singapore myself, yet. (Meanwhile here in Kuala Lumpur, Mysia...we still have our last NWAB bus model from rapidKL in service; those Mercedes CBC1725s with the Epic Voith/ZF gearboxes...very very nice) Oh well, looks like "Bus Preservation" is not-so a thing there in Singapore. What a shame...anyway, good video glitchFan2428!
I frequently travelled on this bus model during my childhood days, primary school days and till secondary school days. When I stayed in Woodlands Ring Road many years ago,I travelled on this bus model quite a lot of times on 912 bus service and 962 bus service
The end of an icon and an era crushed by the jaws of death surrounded by governmental red tape. Seriously, doesn't the baseless assumption judging a vehicle's condition by age feel right if it is well-maintained? Preserving the entire fleet is unrealistic, but preserving at least one of these flagship buses is doable.

Whereas it is common for cities like Sydney to keep their buses beyond 20 years. O405s were still operating in Sydney in 2022 despite being in service since 1995/6, but they recently retired from passenger service just the start of this year.
There wouldn't be much point fixing this one unfortunately as in Singapore commercial vehicles above the age of 20 years old are prohibited from use on public roads. There's not a large market for second hand bendy buses in the region either.

Not all kubs were scrapped only some because of wear and tear.

LTA should make a transportation museum instead of torturing the trains and buses like this
