I own 2 of Juvia's Palette's, The Saharan and the Nubian. I love them, I love the pigmentation on my brown skin, and I love the value. I wasn't a fan at first due to bad experience, but I revisted and I am a fan now! What I hate about these reviews is that it appears no one reads how the company builds these palette's and what they base the colors off of. Like the Saharan palette...based off of the Fulani Tribe and if you do a little research, you can see why they chose these colors and just how beautiful they are. There is some true culture behind these palettes and these folks just seem to miss that part and don't include it in the reviews. i personally think it's important because it makes the palette make sense and so much more appreciated.....at least IMO.
You make an excellent point about appreciating the Fulani Tribe's influence on this palette. I put a LOT of time into researching every one of my videos, but I will be sure to note any cultural significance in my future reviews of Juvia's Place. Thanks for your comment!
I love your reviews and honest opinion. If I could make one suggestion. I've been a licensed esthetitian and makeup artist for over 15 years and whenever you apply shadows I want to help. Just a tip if you're interested... Try holding your brush lower and not at the ferrule. It'll help make your shadows look blended also and most importantly it'll stop you from pulling at the delicate skin around your eyes. This is not a mean comment just a suggestion. Keep up the great work!
Jen Luvs Reviews you're welcome. I'm happy you didn't take it the wrong way. I really do like your channel. I only subscribe to two channels yours and Emily Noel. ✌️❤️💄
This is the first video I've seen from you, and it's hands down the most informative, structured review I've ever watched!! Amazing, you have a happy new subscriber!
Great review Jen! I've started looking for talc in shadow ingredients before I buy. No sensitivity, but talc does remove moisture from the skin. Maturity is doing a good enough job of drying my eyelids! If I get this palette, I'll will have to remember to always use it with an anti-aging primer!
wow....i dont think ive ever watched a review by you...and i must say....I LOVE your reviews & explanations...your soo easy 2 understand! So Thank you .. keep up the good work! A++
I ordered four Juvias Place pallets and am waiting patiently for them to arrive (Sahara, Magic, Masquerade and Tribe). I am watching reviews and tutorials to help me be a bit more patient. 😊 I am just recently getting back into makeup and realized that much of my makeup was waaaay beyond expired so now I am replacing things. I tend to do a ton of research before I buy and am soooo excited that I came across your channel! Your enthusiasm for Juvias place led me to do more research and I believe I made the right choice. I caught everything (except Tribe) on a super sale so that was a bonus too! I’ll let you know how I like them when they arrive. Thanks for doing such great reviews! I really REALLY appreciate your content and the voice of reason and positivity you are in this UA-cam beauty space. And Mad love to YOU! 🤗🥰
I love your reviews so much, I was looking into this palette for my prom and I was curious if gurus were lying or anything. I can completely trust you which is so refreshing, please keep up the great work! You can tell that you put so much hard work into your reviews, thank you so much for putting these together for us!
Would you recommend any of the juvias place palettes? I’m really hesitant because of the ingredients, is it something that I should take into consideration before buying or should I not be worried? I’d love to collect their palettes because they’re just gorgeous but I don’t want to risk anything!!
Very nice and detailed review. Thank u . Love the fact that you take the trouble research on the ingredients . I own this and absolutely love this pallatte .
First of all where have u been all my UA-cam life??? Awesome product review! I have never heard of this brand before so I'm so glad I found this video. I clicked on a video earlier where u compared a KVD palette with a Lorac palette so this video came up for a recommendation. I am now subscribed, bell and all. I'm not going near another cosmetics counter before checking one of ur videos first!
I just picked it up today for $5! Excited to get it. Color story is challenging for me because I usually use more mattes to blend a look out and make it really pop with something metallic on the lid. I love it, but I think I’ll be using mattes from other pallets to make it work well for me
just purchased mine yesterday and it was shipped today!! The site said out of stock so I signed up for the notification...less than an hour later I received an email to purchase :)
Omg Jen i love the way you did this tutorial with the close up of the eyes and the color you are using with the name!!! Please continue!! Great video!!! ❤️💚❤️❤️💄
Omg dear you are far most the best product reviewer. I love the fact that you have sources, and facts about products and explain facts so keep it up and I will continue to see your videos 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
I have the first Nubian palette, really love it as an older woman, they're more muted. If I were younger I'd definitely go for these new bright jeweled tones!
Really beautiful palette. I just ordered the Nubian 2 off Hautelook yesterday, and have to say I am pretty darn excited about it. Heard such good things about this brand
innocence angel The brands offer select overstock of their lines. Sometimes it's palettes that have been out for a while, or staple products, or products that are not huge sellers. You are buying from Hautelook, and they buy from the company. So they work out their own deal.
I wish the metallic shadows weren't so oily in this palette. I haven't had this issue with any of my other JP palettes or single eyeshadows. I have hooded eyes, so I'm worried this is going to be a disaster on me. I guess I won't know until I try! JP has a somewhat shady reputation in terms of their customer service, which I was not aware of until after I bought my first two palettes. I've never had any issues with them, but something to keep in mind for others. Have you tried Looxi Beauty? They are my absolute favorite indie eyeshadows. They also make beautiful highlighters. Their customer service is the absolute best of any I've ever worked with! Their shadows are only $5 each! And they are cruelty free and almost all products are vegan. They use dimethicone instead of mineral oil so that concern is alleviated. The shadows are super soft and pigmented without being oily. ❤️❤️ Their shipping is $2.99 priority on all orders over $35. Another indie brand I've had great experiences with is Strobe Cosmetics. They're cruelty free, vegan and don't use parabens. I've never noticed mineral oil in any of my shadows. They offer flat rate shipping for $4.50 in the US and free shipping at $60. Both of those companies ship internationally and have information regarding cost on their websites. Feather River Body is an Etsy shop I recently ordered from for the first time. My shadows arrived fast! Beautiful and packaged well. Heather, the owner, has more shadows than I've ever seen an indie brand stock! And she does custom orders! Seriously gorgeous shadows. She also makes magnetic palettes for anyone wanting to avoid Z Palettes. 😬 I also have to mention Devinah Cosmetics. The owner is super sweet and has tons of shadows and highlighters to choose from. I've been on the website so many times but I just can't make up my mind. I want them all!! A trusted friend LOVES her shadows so I think they're worth trying out. I normally only bough high end makeup but recently have been trying some indie brands. I got burned really badly by a UA-camr who sells her own pigments. It left such a bad taste in my mouth that I didn't want to try any other indie brands for fear of getting ripped off again. But I started slowly and have had great experiences. Nothing can replace my MUFE and Viseart eyeshadows, but some of these indie brands are really stepping up their game. I appreciate that they invest in product development whereas so many other cosmetic companies these days seem obsessed with collaborating with influencers at the risk of releasing lower quality products. We see this over and over again. This is why I refuse to buy any makeup that's a collab with an influencer. 👎🏻😒 But indie brands seem more concerned with testing their products PRIOR to them being released. And they're not spending massive amounts on advertising. I still buy the bulk of my products from Sephora, Nordstrom and Ulta, but I'm enjoying trying out eyeshadows, highlighters and liquid lipsticks from indie brands. ❤️
Oh I can't talk about indie brands without mentioning SUVA Beauty and Saucebox Cosmetics! What was I thinking?! 😱 SUVA's eyeshadows are huge! And they're so super pigmented! Their Hydra Liners are a unique product that is a water activated eyeliner/base. Some even glow under UV light! I have Rose Gold and it's just gorgeous. I plan to buy more of them definitely!
I have all of their palettes and the gel liner set. I love their products! I recently wore a crazy look using the Masquerade Palette to Cirque Du Soleil and one of the pink shades stained my lids for two days but it was totally worth it!
I bought this and the Masquerade palette and am quite a fan. Fula is a favorite and Iman is brilliant. I need to play around more of course, but the lasting power is great. My only complaint is in the shipping expense, it wasn't horrid, but after getting dinged for customs as well I basically doubled my order price. To be fair though, even if that puts the palettes more in the ABH MR price range the shadows are way bigger and Def worth it.
Love Juvia’s Place and this pallet!!! Angelica Nyqvist turned me onto them and I have never regretted a single purchase from them! Quality is definitely on point!!! Much Love 😘💋😍
Great, in-depth review as always, Jen! I really am curious about this brand. I saw they are on Hautelook today, but with shipping it would still be cheaper to order the Nubian palette straight from the brand's site! I'm supposed to be on a no-buy for February (which I've already broken, ha) but maybe I'll pull the trigger on the Nubian palette next month!
great video! I love this palette and her other ones lol. I was very interested to hear your thoughts on it. I agree with you...these shadows are on another level
Bought the palette on 1/31/17 but still don't have it 😩. NOT JP fault and their cust svc did get back to me pretty quickly but they have no control once it is shipped...it tracked through FedEx who sent it to usps and it got here in Minnesota only to go on to Illinois. It was never delivered to me. Working with usps customer service has been a nightmare though. I tried to call and the automated phone system would just tell me where it tracked to but not how yo get it. Tried to email and it said their server is down. THEN tried to call back and under a different problem waited in the phone for 40 min to talk to a person (initially I was told based on where I was in the queue it would be 1hr16-1hr19min). They are investigating it now so hopefully I will get my palette soon 🤞🏾
I love your videos so so much!!! I am soo glad whenever u put up a new video. I love how long and informative they are!! u seem so sweet and genuine keep doing what u do and u will have a million subscribers soon enough. xoxoxo
@15.30 I think you should have added Natasha Denona to the group Jen. Her eyeshadows are amazing. I am only buying ND and Makeup Geek from now on. Cheers.
Jen, do you have the Zulu palette by Juvias? By far my favorite out of all of them. Please do a review! Also I I just started getting into BH please do a brand review if possible! Love your channel!
Hahaha when u said that its more for those who know what they are doing lol I'm not a newbie but not really experienced and let me tell you I love it so far but did i ever make the worst combo ever playing with this I so should have taken a pic and posted it on the group. thanks Jen u rock so much!
I love how monochromatic palettes look but I honestly don’t need all those shades of a certain color. This palette is prefect kuz it has a variety of basic colors I would wear.
Palm oil should be a massive red flag...rainforests are cut down and burnt to plant palm trees and lots of species lose their habitat, including orangutans. Not to mention the loss of a natural environment, a legacy. I just bought this palette and am waiting for it to arrive, I think I will start checking ingredients before I buy
For Nancy? She doesn't have those. Haha! But for Juvia's Place, I don't have a personal discount code because I'm not affiliated with them. But I do have a link in the description to the website where you can buy it.
Madison Mukbang Nikkitutorials has a discount code it's "Nikkie" for 5 or 10% off but saying that the palettes from Juvias Place is really inexpensive their really good value n the pigmentation is amazing! I have all of their palettes n their blush palettes too ❤️❤️
I just found your channel today and I've been binge watching. I love how much information you have! What do you teach and at what grade level? I'm in high school and I would die if you were my teacher ☺️
I want to cry I've probably spent about $400 on makeup in the past month and had no idea what Hautelook was until reading all these comments 😭😭😭 Well at least I know now
Going to pass. I have not purchased any of the palettes from this indi-brand b/c there are only a few shadows in each that I'd use. It may be more interesting if they sold individual colors. I really am digging that Wodaabe and kia...
I own 2 of Juvia's Palette's, The Saharan and the Nubian. I love them, I love the pigmentation on my brown skin, and I love the value. What's on your lips in this video Jen? It goes so nice with these shadows and is super flattering.

Ordered this pallet a couple days ago and I just can't wait
The time stamp idea is great
Nancy=the best friend EVER!
This looks like such a beautiful palette. As always amazing review :)
It's in stock right now !
An eyeshadow that is easy to use says a lot! To me that is the most import thing other than whether I will use a color or not.
I love your videos so so much!!! I am soo glad whenever u put up a new video. I love how long and informative they are!! u seem so sweet and genuine keep doing what u do and u will have a million subscribers soon enough. xoxoxo
The Juvia place palette is live in hautelook!! Yeah!!!
Juvia's Place shadows are absolutely amazing! ❤️❤️
I just picked this up and the masquerade palette during their Memorial Day sale
Buy it! I love how pigmented it is !
I'd love to see multiple looks with same palette. I have this palette, and love many of colors, but having a hard time coming up with looks.
I like the ingredient analysis cus if I decide to buy the palettes you review I'll know that there are risks to using it
Love your reviews Jen ❤️❤️❤️great job as always
Thanks, Ladonna!!
love how thorough you are I'm going to subscribe
love the swatches you did on this palette. I kinda want this palette now.😀
Palm oil should be a massive red flag...rainforests are cut down and burnt to plant palm trees and lots of species lose their habitat, including orangutans. Not to mention the loss of a natural environment, a legacy. I just bought this palette and am waiting for it to arrive, I think I will start checking ingredients before I buy
Spangldee Excellent point! Our cosmetics should not come at the risk of the natural habitat for many animals! 🙈🙉🙊
Spangldee
Agreed. I won't be purchasing from this company.
Lol...oyinbo.
ugg ... I didn't realize that there was palm oil.
Omg I'd buy it just for Fula. 😍 that color would be a dream on my skin/ eye colors. Anyone know of any single shadow matches out there for Fula??
This is the best review video I've ever seen
+Asia Th3Mua Thanks, Asia!
I just ordered the Saharan and the Nubian. Thank you so much for your insight
I wish they would sell Wodaabe as a single. And Fula looks so pretty. BTW I've bee loving your "soundtrack" for these Juvia's reviews.
Coloured Raine ❤❤❤
Can you review the new Lorac Brunch palette I'm soooo unsure about it?????!!!
This is my first time watching your videos and love how you review everything. Have you done a review for the Nubian 2?
those swatches are insane!!!
thanks so much jen for this video, im so keen to watch
excellent review as always!
Beautiful review, very in depth.
I love the layout of your reviews soooo you got a new subscriber 🤓💟
I'VE BEEN WAITING YES FINALLY HERE :D
Amazing review as always, Jen!! Hugs!!
Aww! Thanks, Leslie! Big hugs back!
Dude, where the hell can I get a Nancy? Link? Discount code? 😝
For Nancy? She doesn't have those. Haha! But for Juvia's Place, I don't have a personal discount code because I'm not affiliated with them. But I do have a link in the description to the website where you can buy it.
Madison Westfield
Nikkitutorials has a discount code that never expires.
Madison Mukbang Nikkitutorials has a discount code it's "Nikkie" for 5 or 10% off but saying that the palettes from Juvias Place is really inexpensive their really good value n the pigmentation is amazing! I have all of their palettes n their blush palettes too ❤️❤️
Just got this palette. Love the recommendation for more mature eyes like me.
I just found your channel today and I've been binge watching. I love how much information you have! What do you teach and at what grade level? I'm in high school and I would die if you were my teacher ☺️
Out of all the juvia s place palettes i own i regret getting this one. Pigmentation sucked for me on some shades.
I want to cry I've probably spent about $400 on makeup in the past month and had no idea what Hautelook was until reading all these comments 😭😭😭
Well at least I know now
I absolutely love ur review very detail and educational 👌🏽👌🏽
Thanks sweetie, always trust your reviews!
Is it limited edition?
Beautiful palette
Thanks for the review... got it for $5 in sale 😄
You are super sweet! And I love your reviews. I always wave back at the end when you say 'byeeeeeee' 😊😊😊
anybody thinking of too faced when she said brands that we thought used to be good
Gurrrlll...I know I was! :)
Awesome review.
great video! what song is that playing when you're doing the demo?
Angela Kelly The song is called "Other Bae" and the singer's name is Cheyenne. 😊
Thanks
Sorry! I forgot to add the links! They are there now!
Yah, was waiting for this!
Honest and comprehensive review, but the eye look is no bueno.
