    I love the Bald Eagle Creek. I kayak it in the summer quite a bit. Only stream I've fished where you can catch 6 or 7 different species of fish each time you float it. I've caught: Browns, Rainbows, Brookies, Smallmouth, Laregemouth, Rock Bass, Crappie, Pearch and one Musky out of that creek!

      What_My_Lens_Sees Hi Dan! Thank you also for watching. Amazing the amount of good solid trout streams we have here in PA. Now, if we could get a few more of those bigger specimens you have out West, that would be awesome. Honestly, not complaining, I love our fishing here, but more traditional I guess of our older mountains and our older more built up world and more dense population. Like I said, amazing how good it still is back East with all those challenges. Love seeing ya consistently hook into your big boys in your videos. Thanks for visiting and commenting.

      Debbie Gajdos Hi Debbie! OMG, no, no Little Lehigh video. It’s a shame what happened to it over the years, only a mere shadow of its former self in the 90s. It used to have tremendous hatches and fish, there used to be so many fish in there, I regularly had 30-50 fish days, now lucky to catch 5 fish, and that’s a good day. Hopefully things will get better but it’s been bad for a long time, it’s ok in the stocked areas for a couple weeks after stocking, but so much poaching going on to those streams around Allentown. Gonna definitely get a couple videos this year on the big Lehigh River, that River is getting better and better but super hard to wade and very very limited access points. Thanks for watching and your support.

      PA WOODS N WATER your right Scott I thought it was just me I remember when the fishing was great I still get some big fish there but few and far between.it is a shadow of its former self. I’m looking forward to seeing you do a Lehigh river video. Thanks for the reply.my last few times to the little Lehigh was extremely frustrating you confirming this made me feel a little more at ease with my fishing skills.

    Good Video Scott. My Buddy went to the "Tulley" yesterday. I did not go with him cause his Niece tested positive for Covid after an Xmas Gathering! Anyway, he netted 4 Trout and lost several other fish. I hope to get out New Years Eve for a few hours. Curious thing, he said the stream was great in the early hours but believes the Dam did a release later because debris, leaves, weeds, sticks etc...started to hang up his flies. Have you ever experienced a situation like that? Let me know and Happy New Year Buddy!

    • @pawoodsnwater7551
      @pawoodsnwater7551  2 роки тому +1

      Hi Dave! Oh yes, they change the flow at times , yesterday around 10:30am it went from 130cfs to 220cfs, so that’s why the increased flow brought down a bunch of debris and the bite started, the flow has been low too much recently, but we need some good rain very bad. They took the flow back down today to 112cfs, so back to tough fishing again. Thanks for watching and commenting.

    Another awesome video Scott!!!🎣🐟💦 so wish I lived upstate hahaha! Heard lots of good things about bald eagle in the past, looks like you had a great time and landed some pretty nice fish! It’s too bad that one that was screaming drag got off! Always a bummer! Lol had the same thing happen to me last weekend when I hooked into a real nice wild bow! Was about to land it and it was gassed and I’t wasn’t even moving and the hook popped out! 😂😂😂 tight lines buddy, and look forward to the next one! 💯🎣💦 I’m off for winter break this entire coming week, so if your free I’m definitely down to get out and fish! Keep up the great work!

    So what do you think about Euro Nymphing?

    • @pawoodsnwater7551
      @pawoodsnwater7551  4 роки тому

      Not a fan for my style of nymphing, although I feel it works better on small streams, also I love fly line for control, not a mono rig fan either. I know I'm gonna disagree with many, but I feel nymphing in general is 100% visual. If you "feel" that hit before you see something happen to your line, you're already late. You should not be able to FEEL a hit come from the fish all the way up the line into the rod to your hands before you SEE some kind of indication with your line, just my opinion. That's why a lot of guys use indicators to SEE a strike. But, to each, his own choice.

    • @berks8260
      @berks8260 4 роки тому

      Thanks for the reply, it looks similar to tight lining which I do a lot on small streams for wild brookies...and it seems to be pretty popular right now....

    Nice video Scott, also a nice section of water. What split shot do you use and your spacing recommendations

    • @pawoodsnwater7551
      @pawoodsnwater7551  4 роки тому +1

      Tom melville Hi Tom! Wow! I’m glad you asked that, although very tough to answer in this comment section. As a rule of thumb, I’d start out around 10” above my top fly, but hard to say what size, all depends on flow and depth, but enough to have you occasionally tapping bottom. If I need more, Before I add weight, I’ll micro-adjust the shot, meaning I’ll slide the shot closer to top fly to help it sink a little quicker and deeper, I won’t go any closer than 5”. Same thing if I want less shot or getting too many snags, I’ll slide the shot further away, no further than 14-15”, if it’s that far I’ll drop down to a smaller shot. I usually start out with a #4 or #1 Dinsmore shot. But, like I said, it is all, at first, determined by the flow and depth of the water. Hope that helps, but you’ll probably have to read that over again several times, ha! Sorry 😐

    heyy there scott! longtime fan of your channel, and you were the first person i thought of to ask for advice! im planning a long weekend fishing trip up to the upper delaware, and trying to have the main details ironed out this week hopefully.....i actually lived in hancock for a year when i was a kid, so i know how beautiful places like roscoe aka trouttown and surrounding areas are.... im a 39 yr old union electrician, so im in fairly good shape, but the main focus of this trip is the old man.....hes in his mid 70s with not the strongest legs anymore, and cant swim either lol, which is why i want to make sure i hire the best guide service, who will be accomodating to him the best they can.....i know from your videos that youre pretty familiar with the stream/area, and was wondering if you could recommend a good guide service and also maybe a little tip on your personal opinion about the best time to fish up there? my boss is ok with it, so i can schedule any weekend in april or may....thanks for taking the time to read this, and any tips you could give are greatly greatly appreciated!!!
    Big Fan,
    Mike from Pgh, Pa

    • @pawoodsnwater7551
      @pawoodsnwater7551  4 роки тому +1

      Krob Diggler Hi Krob! Thank you for your kind words. I’d say out of April or May, definitely May, get an out of state NY license for a couple days, around $10/day and stay at West Branch Anglers, they have guide service, great water right out front, also good fishing within a very short drive up or downstream, there’s a restaurant there, full service and a fly shop. The guys at the shop can give you directions to spots that are easier to wade. You can get the NY license at the fly shop. You can stay in the Lodge which is super comfortable and cheaper or rent a cabin for more privacy for only a few bucks more. Hope this helps. Have fun and tight lines and make sure you have your drag set, those trout are on steroids and make great runs. Use 4x underneath and 5x on top and hang on!! Oh yes, from my own personal experience, fish no further than 20 yards away from the older gentleman for obvious safety reasons.

    • @krobdiggler6188
      @krobdiggler6188 4 роки тому +1

      thanks so much scott....ill be calling them tomorrow! and FYI, this is one of the reasons your channel is one of my faves....because you actually spread the knowledge......soo many of these channels post content, but when the fans interact and ask questions, everything is "top secret", from tips to spots to gear, etc.....youre the complete opposite and one reason of many ill continue to support and respect.....thanks again!

    • @pawoodsnwater7551
      @pawoodsnwater7551  4 роки тому +1

      I do that also, I post videos mostly of all well known streams and spots that have been known for many many years. Everyone who purchases a PA fishing license and trout stamp have just as much right to anyone else to enjoy our waterways and our fish. All my videos are throughout Central PA, SEPA and the Northeast, many streams not to focus on any one more than the other, in fact my home stream the Tully is featured the most. Besides helping guys through the learning curve of fly fishing, another intention of mine is to spread guys out. If you live close to any of our great trout streams, you should be thankful that you can probably fish them way more then most of us. As long as everyone practices good catch and release, we can all enjoy this great sport throughout PA.
