Fantastic review. I have the Asics Gel Kayano 30, which has fantastic stability and correction. Essentially solved my repetitive ankle injury issue because of the way I land my foot. Would you suggest this for someone coming from that model if I want a second pair ?
I would say that the width was very noticeable in the forefoot/toebox area on the new ASICS. I think with the way the shoe last is with the Novablast 5 makes the throat or midfoot of the shoe a little narrower compared to the straight last on the Ghost or Glycerin Max from Brooks. Forefoot wise I think the ASICS felt better especially initially.
Talk about buzzkill and sucking the oxygen out of the room. The Adidas Adizero EVO Sl also comes out on Dec. 1. For $10 more, you get Adidas full premium super foam midsole( Light Strike Pro). A more durable outsole ( Continental Rubber), and it's 1.5 oz. lighter. Plus, if you buy them from Adidas, they allow you 30 days to try them out. You can return them for a refund in any condition for any reason. Asics won't let you do that. It seems like the Adidas EVO SL is a much better bang for your dollar than the Novablast 5 if it fits right and doesn't interfere with your biomechanics.
Partially agree on this, but I think a key difference will be fit. EVO SL is a little narrower from what I've read. If NB5 really does have better volume than the 3/4, that is an advantage. Agree 100% on the outsole. Asics is still missing on this vs. the Continental rubber with the ahar lo outsole. All that said, I'm likely to order the Evo SL to try it out.
@LancePeterman RunRepeat cut the Adidas EVO Sl in half and measured the widest part of the toebox at 98.7 mm, which is quite accomadating compared to the average of others they measured The width in the big toe area measured 78.3 mm, which is in the average range compared to others. You might be talking about the volume in height in the toebox. It was a little bit lower compared to the average of others they measured. Plus, the midsole width is also narrower than the Asics Novablast 5, probably making it less stable.
@@LancePetermanMy Evo SL is plenty more roomier than my NB4. Not sure against the NB5 though. This is definitely not your typical Adizero constricting shoe
Sounds like you work for Adidas. ASICS does allow refunds…I actually get about 90 days to return, I also receive a large discount (military, law enforcement, students, teachers, nurses, fire fighters all do). Not sure what you’re trying to get at with your comment besides trying to get some shoe with a stupid hype marketing tactic more hype. I’ll stick to the asics as don’t need to limit sales for 6 months and literally plan raffle sign ups THAT YOU HAVE TO WIN TO BUY THE SHOE…disgusting.
Wild that 41-42mm is “mid stack” now! Great vid.
I was stunned when I saw the stats myself. Its the way shoe brands are going theses days!
So excited for this shoe! And bummed the whole time I lived in MD I didn't know about the store. Next time I'm back I'm stopping in!
We at the store were so excited as well to get this shoe in and get some miles in it! Please stop in and say hi next time you are in Maryland!
Was going to go all black but that teal looks so cook

Love the video! Would you say the width now of the Novablast 5 is comparable to Brooks shoes like the all of the MAX series?

Any shoe ideas for someone suffering from sore knees? I am a supinator.

@@jefreywith1f924 Yeah, I was more concerned with the midfoot, though that is definitely an improvement for the toebox. Thanks for the clarification.

My brands are: asics, brooks and new balance!
Thanks. Love the 4s, but 5s sound less stable according to the reviews. And I hate that purple colorway.🤷🏻
