I will say though, make sure you refer to MDN documentation as sometimes there are details that are skipped/only lightly touched upon. • @nachannachle2706
      @nachannachle2706 5 років тому +2

      Build, build, build.
      Anything, everything. Build a website to showcase your Front-end code. Build a bogus application/CMS to showcase your back end code.
      Build small simple, then build medium and slightly complex, and build big and more complex.
      Go and see your local shopkeeper and ask to build an online database for his/her products.
      Build an interface from which you can CRUD the data from this database. Then build a website that integrates this database. Demo this dynamic website to the shopkeeper as you build to get some feedback and to add/remove functionality. Once the website is up and running, do the maintenance work/testing/refining around it.
      Afterwards, you will have clients coming to you. Then you can start charging.
      Still, never expect yourself to cruise through any task, but take the time to UNDERSTAND what you are doing inside out. Don't be a code monkey for a few bucks. Don't ditch your creativity.
      A lot of online courses are about building snippets, but until you have put together all these elements into a BIG project, you don't really understand web development.
      And no, building one project is not the bottom line, there are always more projects to build for/from. So, just keep building and enjoy the engineering!
      All the best, bro.
      Assalam Waleikum.

    I wish you to make a video about networks. I'm really getting in to web development with HTML, CSS, Javascript, C#, ASP.Net, SQL and so on, but I lack basic understanding of networks, IP addresses, Ports, all the basic concepts, and I struggle to find a good video about this.

      You can have a look at this one to start with: www.geeksforgeeks.org/

    • @TraversyMedia

      It really depends on the project, time constraints, etc. I prefer MERN or MEVN but if it is something that I need to get done quickly, I might go for something like Django or Laravel with Postgres. Might use a frontend framework OR for very simple interfaces, just use a template engine. It's a hard question to answer because there are so many factors, but my favorite is MERN/MEVN

    I would like to add one more thing. That is marketing your self. if you are really good at what you do but cannot convince others!! you gonna have a hard time finding good work. work on branding your self from start.

    • @nachannachle2706
      @nachannachle2706 5 років тому

      Well-said. A lot of people can't find work for this very reason.
      Skillsets are good, but you need to convince your future employer that they NEED your skillsets. Mainly because most recruiters don't have a clue who they want in terms of capabilities (remember that job are posted/published by HR people, rarely tech people). Recruiters tend to muddle along until they interview someone who looks like s/he knows what s/he is doing, what s/he can get from the company and what s/he will give to the company.
      That's assertiveness (aka marketing skills) for you. :)

    If you'd honestly cared for browser devtools you would have said Firefox DevTools. They are the ones always bringing the cool stuff before anyone else. Kind of disappointing seeing you're recommending Chrome that much when you'd be much safer using other browsers like FF :S

    hey, what about algorithms and data structures? Do you think it's not that important for FE devs to learn and practise those?

    • @nachannachle2706
      @nachannachle2706 5 років тому

      FE = WEB development = HTML, CSS and WEB programming (JS/PHP/Ruby).
      Data structures and algorithms IMHO are the main concerns of Software engineer/developers.
      That said, they might come useful when working on database design and applications for BIG organisations.
