I have been dying to make this since the day you posted this and finally got down to making this today . The result looks perfect but haven’t tasted it yet. Fairly simple to put together, one tip is to mix the kataifi and butter in the baking dish and separating half on to a plate that way the baking dish gets buttered and one less bowl to wash ask me for lash tips .I am sure you know that but you have to use the bowl for demo purposes. Thank you so much will review the result after tasting .
Just got back from Italy/Greece/and Turkiye. The last part of my trip was a cruise and they served this. I wasn't sure if it was Greek or Turkish but it's fantastic. By far my favorite desert I tried on my trip.
@radu bradu it would most likely fail with noodles. You would need to cook the noodles first, then butter them up and bake them and then add syrup...I don't know what texture and taste they would have. If you are up for a risky experiment, you are free to try but nuts are expensive to through in the bin...🤷♀️
You didn’t have a bite at the end! That’s always my favorite part!
I always took them. Will do it this way for summer. Thanks
I’ve never worked with kataifi dough, but I think now is the time to try it. I’ll be making this for Pascha.

Oh my gosh that looks so good i would want to eat the whole tray 😍
Looks delicious! I wish my small town sold the ingredients to make this, thank you for sharing your recipe!! 😋
There are a few good online sellers of Greek produce/ingredients (often Cypriot). Keep looking! Καλή όρεξη 😋
TY sweet Dimiroula mou! I am gonna try to make this soon sine I need o use up my nuts. I prefer vanilla ice cream on top. Yummy!
Yes me too! Pistachio ice cream would be good and I’m thinking butter pecan too 😋
😋 yummy.
Great
Beauty's jab .❤
This pastry is new to me. Is it just a neural flavor in each strand? How did it become a popular ingredient? TY for sharing
The pastry is neutral and absorbs the flavors of the filling and the syrup. It has a great texture and that's why it's a hit!
❤❤❤
Το kadayif Turkish είναι γλυκό Έλληνες μην προσπαθήσετε να το κλέψετε
Can the kataifi pastry be substituted?
If you use phyllo pastry then you make baklava. The same ingredients more or less but different textures.
@@feriedust4402 I was thinking more on the lines of those really thin noodles they have in Chinese shops.

That's a $20 dessert in most restaurants!
Yes it is! And this would be so much better 😃
Where do you live? Here in Montreal it would be 5$ per piece max in a Greek bakery and not more than 8$ in a restaurant.
❤👍🙂
Death by chocolate has nothing on Kataifi Squares .You need to serve with ice cream to cut down the sweetness
❤❤❤❤❤
