    This video is not only incredibly useful for my current project, but I'm saving it to refer to as my skills grow so i can apply more of these techniques to future projects!

    These videos are so good! So much attention to detail! It so often just says "work a decrease" in a pattern as though this kind of knowledge is just in everyone's head already.

    I'm knitting socks with an all over cable pattern (actually, the cable is like a braid, I'm not sure about the proper term for this). I've been trying to work out how to handle this, but I'm not sure my attempts on swatches were very nice. Having watched this, I'm going to first try to map out another option or two and then knit up the swatches and have a look! Thank you!

    Thank you so much for this really informative video. I only started knitting a couple of months ago but I'm shooting through lots of techniques, and I (ambitiously) am attempting to design a pattern for toddler mittens. Unfortunately I have to do two decreases in my wishbone cable row! You have given me the inspiration I needed to (hopefully) figure it out. I'm off to find some cheap yarn to make a prototype.

    Very useful and clearly explained. Thank you so much, it was just what I needed to help me with the right neck edge shaping in an Aran pattern.

    I have been looking for a way to decrease for the neckline on an Aran pattern. Thanks, Roxanne. I have been knitting for more than sixty years, but you are proving that I still have much to learn, especially with the finesse techniques. I am still trying to figure out the best way to decrease on neckline edges for left and right-leaning edges. Do you have a video for those, please?

    Are you supposed to decrease pearl wise if the stitches being decreased are purl stiches between the cables ?

    You're video is as good as it gets but I'm trying to do a cable double decrease for a hat and I absolutely can't figure it.

    I’m making the loops$threads baby cable pullover. I have had to take it out so many times!!! Just when I think I have it, the arms decrease and it says stay in pattern. How in the world do I do that!!!
    There are cables and patterns and rows!!! I’m lost

    When doing the neckline would you always use method 1- go to stocking stitch?

    What do you think of k2tog to turn a 3x3 cable into a 2x2?

    Is there an increase video on cabling? I am trying to work a 4 row pattern on sleeves but they start from the cuff and increases 1 stitch at each end every so many rows 😪

      In a case like that, you typically work the new sts in stockinette, until you have increased enough sts to do the crossing. There are some other techniques for increasing while cabling, but those techniques are more commonly used in the center of the row. My channel has a whole playlist of videos on cabling that you might find helpful.

    Thank you Roxanne, very good video, have you ever accidentally felted a sweater?

    • @RoxanneRichardson
      @RoxanneRichardson  5 років тому +1

      I never have, probably because I have never put my sweaters or dry clean-only items in a laundry bin with the rest of my laundry, so there's no chance they'll accidentally get mixed in with the items that will be machine laundered.

      @@RoxanneRichardson I did and it made me cry! Your sweaters ( your knitting is beautiful!) Thank you for the response, didn't think you had, I fell for the 'Super wash 'on the ball band and put my sweater on ' Delicate', it felted, it was a disaster and had to throw it away., lesson learned!
