Between 2 normal ppl u both bring cash in inventory, winner grabs your loot/gp off body. There's also a "party" plugin where you download and you can see your opponents inventory. Most CCs/Deathmatchers use this. Oda is a big streamer so everyone trades him the GP and he will pay if you win. The reason oda banks the GP and doesn't bring it into the fight is because people rush them and try to kill them with GP and this is a safer option.
