  • Setup guide for the Matek F405 AIO flight controller and how to enable FrSky telemetry.
Matek's website has a great "walkthru" which I reference throughout the video -- hope you find this useful!

Thanks for posting this guide. It would have been helpful if I found your video before taking too many hours to figure it out, but I got there in the end.

Bat Wing - haha yeah that's EXACTLY why I made the video -- I was stumbling around for a while too.

Hi there, I just want to confirm if I still need to solder from the non-inverted signal in XSR even if Im using the soft serial method. The description indicates that you can either use the method one OR method two. Im confuse. Thanks for the response in advance.

Mac_zila hey there - short answer is yes - you still need to solder a wire from the non-inverted signal if you want telemetry. Also, looking at the Matek website, they tell you to update the XSR software as well. Here’s a video showing you how to do that. ua-cam.com/video/od-Qrd4Lulo/v-deo.html

Thank you for your response, by the way Im using F450 OSD and not the AIO. I have already udated the firmware of my XSR. This is what the website indicates:
      "No.1. Enable SoftSerial_TX on S5 or S6 pad
Don’t need to break the RX cover. Use the inverted TLM signal on the socket.
Type “resource motor 5 none” in CLI, ENTER,
Type “resource serial_tx 11 A15” in CLI, ENTER
      Type “Save”, ENTER
Connect the inverted telemetry signal to S5 pad"
The only difference is I used S6 pad, but I assigned serial_tx 11 to A08.

Mac_zila oh wow ... so you don’t have to do the inverted telemetry mod?

As it is I can tell it doesn't work for my set-up. I cant find any videos/write up anywhere that the Method 1 was used and actually worked, that is why I thought Id ask you since your video is the closest that I can get to what I am trying to achieve, but you mentioned that you used the non-inverted signal, which I believe is method 2.

Yeah I'm running an X4R-SB receiver -- not XSR, so I don't have any direct experience with getting the XSR to work ---
