At 12:01 you could: - Play Badlands (or Bloodstained Mire to thin the deck) - Play Chrome Mox exiling Fury - Tap both for {R}{R} to cast Expedited Inheritance, thus incentivizing the use of Pyrite Spellbomb pre-combat - (Option 1) If they sacrifice the Pyrite Spellbomb in response to the Expedited inheritance, you can still use the second Chrome Mox to exile Grief, which with Ancient Tomb ({C}{C}{B}) is enough mana to cast Animate Dead (with {C} floating). - (Option 2) If they don't sacrifice the Pyrite Spellbomb in response, you now get 2 cards when they eventually do the 2 damage in the Beginning of Combat step, and you still have Ancient Tomb untapped and the Chrome Mox and Grief in hand + the 2 extra cards exiled by Expedited Inheritance (If one is a Grief, you can exile the Grief in hand to get rid of their best card in hand (as you only need to disrupt them from winning, this is the second-best option if you can't win directly). - (Option 3) Like option 2, but they killed your Broadside Bombardiers in response to going to combat (like what actually happened), so any exiled reanimation spell (from Expedited Inheritance) would give you a second shot at reanimating the Broadside Bombardiers (after casting the Animate Dead from hand you have {C} floating from Ancient Tomb and can make a {B} from the Chrome Mox in your hand that can exile Grief). This gets you through 2 removal spells and would have secured the victory through the 2 removal spells they ended up having (turning their punt into a win for you).
36:50 I guess I'll be the "um, actually" rules nerd about the card that isn't even legal in the format anymore... " If a player has not registered a set of sticker sheets but is instructed to put a sticker onto a permanent they own due to an effect they have gained control of, they may visit to generate three sticker sheets for use in that game only. If they do not choose to do so, the part of the ability instructing them to put a sticker onto a permanent is ignored. " MTR 3.18
This has nothing to do with the gameplay, but I have your boshnroll shirt from coalesce. I wear it basically Everytime I play raquetball and I always get questions quickly followed by compliments. Well done to the designer
That comment at about 37:00 is the real reason why ____ Goblin got banned. People not knowing how it works, and judging by reddit, not wanting to know how stickers work.
I feel like lotus petals work instead of name sticker here. Works well with the stompy side of the deck, works well with the scam side (can t1 a troll)
At 22:02, you mention that you were 'just seeing if you could cast Grief there, but it didn't work'. Couldn't you easily have cast Grief turn 1 there? I'm assuming something else (beside casting Grief) made it 'not work'?: - Chrome Mox exiling Fire Covenant - Chrome Mox exiling Pyrokinesis - Tap Chrome Moxen for {B}{R} - Cast Dark Ritual, resulting in {B}{B}{B}{R} - Hard-cast Grief (With a Manamorphose to spare that could've made black mana, even if none of the Chrome Moxen tapped for {B})
The "something else" is that this line is awful. He started saying it out loud to himself and realised immediately that it was going absolutely nowhere. "Seeing if I could cast the Grief" was short for "Seeing if I could cast the Grief and end up in a reasonable spot that isn't just top decking the rest of the game with a 7 turn clock".
36:45 this is incorrect -- by rules if you use a Sticker card but you don't have a sticker sheet revealed, a judge will issue you one random pool of stickers from wizard's sticker website. This also happens if in paper you forget to reveal the sticker sheet before starting the game. Just glad this crap's been banned!
The concept of having a goofy card to have fun with that's otherwise has multiple uses in a deck that is already strong? That's 5head thinking in deckbuilding.
Farewell, Avocado Goblin
Show some respect. He was at least a Guacamole Goblin, at minimum.
Avocado adds only 2 :/
29:37 "I actually think 'Name Sticker' Goblin does almost nothing in this deck." Well, certainly not any more it won't. RIP
42:00 Would Reanimate Matron, get Bombardier, fling have worked here?

R1G1 was fucking hilarious, oh my god

That game 1 in the last match was pretty crazy. Always fun to queue into you and just facing the most unhinged lists.
This has nothing to do with the gameplay, but I have your boshnroll shirt from coalesce. I wear it basically Everytime I play raquetball and I always get questions quickly followed by compliments. Well done to the designer
Love to hear it! Thanks for sharing :)

I can't imagine how frustrating this would be to learn in an actual tournament. I would be convinced people were fucking with me.
Where is the person that always talks about the bosh pack of smokes?? I miss them!
M1G1 was just art. Loved it
Hard to believe an avocado brewed this. Maybe it is a super food

"The only thing we have to Fury... is Fury itself."
Rip sticker goblin
54:20 that was a thing of beauty
Been a while since a game of magic had me giggling, but that first game was hilarious.
_____ pack, goblin em if you've got em
I want to see the combo version that mulls for inheritence...because it could go pretty ham
“And then suddenly, this can happen too” describes a lot of brews on this channel tbh
9:52 what am i missing here? why isn't reanimate on bombardiers good?
ah, never mind. there is no black mana

NERD PACK SMOKE EM IF YA WATCH EM
Hell yeah
Funny that the reason sricker cards are annoying is called out here just before they're banned everywhere lol
BAN GRIEF

Mind Goblin sticker commentary extremely prescient.
RIP name sticker gobbo boii 🪦
