Just like how Bosh says that a Black Lotus avatar on MTGO makes his Spidey-sense read "combo vibes", there's a certain range of art printings for basic Island that makes my senses read "High Tide vibes". It's definately a thing.
I used to go to legacy tournaments with high tide (spring tide back then) and seeing that guys hand made me physically recoil looking at all the win more cards.
Is that not how it works? Don't the pyrogoyf copies have the text that says their power and toughness that applies after they're made with halved stats? Or am I missing something
@@AAVinze there's a ruling that the Tarmogoyf abilities count as if they were in the P/T box, and are not considered rules text for the purposes of stuff like Sawed in Half. You can see those rulings in Scryfall, pretty sure
Saw in half specifies the power and toughness directly and overrules the characteristic defining ability of the goyf. There is a judging ftw video that explains this.
That kind of thing is why I love watching players who are good at control regardless what they're playing and despite no interest in playing control myself
Invasion of Tarkir is the rookie that the vets yell at all season and gets benched when it doesn't do the job it needs to do, and then comes up big in a key moment. Story old as time.
I love Invasion of Tarkir. It's probably one of my favorite cards in the past two years that unfortunately just almost never has a decent home in anything. There was a tiny window of a few months between the release of MoM and the one-two punch of LotR and Historic Anthology 7 exposing some of its weaknesses when it was a key piece in a deck I really liked in Historic, but not really since then. Maybe the new Tarkir set will supply the pieces to make it a respectable thing to be doing out of the Fable shell in Pioneer or something.
@@fergusfisher1315 No. You can reveal 0 dragons to just shock when it etbs. Unless you mean that the deck cannot reveal dragons so it's always just a sorcery speed shock with a weird type that you can sometimes flip, in which case, you're correct.
I read the card so many times and I’m not used to affirmative reminder text, so I thought it said “x can’t be 0”. Also I think someone lied to me IRL about how this card works then.
The last round's opponent's fear of being Pox'd is totally justified if you do the BoshNRoll check > Is there a major tournament for this format coming up? (Yes: High odds of testing a real deck) > Was there a major tournament for this format in the past week? (Yes: High odds of playing a top performing deck from that event) > If No to the above questions, high probability of some shit about to happen
Living Death is such a cool card vs counterspell decks and tokens because their creatures are likely to be mostly alive, making it also a Wrath in addition to a mass reanimate. Pretty dece for 5 mana value, especially if you flood
It's actually "Peanut Butter and Jelly", the Peanut Butter part is because of a 2001 Superbowl ad where Brad Pitt eats peanut butter; and the Jelly part is because it's playing red cards.
So happy I donated this just to see the family all together.

Where’s the 1x sawed in half 😢😢😢
The interaction was apparently bugged before making the copies have the same stats as the original

nice to see some honest fair magic across a league
Damn, 1x Tarfire hit me with the nostalgia
33:11 high tide creates a triggered ability that adds an additional blue, so damping sphere doesn't stop it
Canute couldn't command the tide either.
Love to see me some Invasion of Tarkir
Made a Jund build of this recently- can’t resist Tarmogoyf with a nice Minsc backup. I love how much fair magic has been winning!
How many Minsc do you run? I have Jund Goyfs but went with 4x Liliana. How has Minsc performed for you?
Nicely played. Phil will be jealous 🙂
Love this deck. Legacy is truly healing a bit, with both goyf and lightning bolt being reasonable again.
Now THIS is pod racing!
Respectable record for my favorite RB midrange decks. Taking a loss to combo is unfortunate but expected without any sort of Force backup.
11:05 That was a great play

I’m assuming it’ll come up in the video, but invasion of tarkir can never only shock right? You have to reveal a dragon

The two mana edict that dealt a damage would have also been a good fit imo

Excellent 😎😎😎
Love the brew!
57:30 one of my friends used to play Dragon Delver (with Faerie Dragon) - multiple Invasions is SO messed up
Yeah I played that on the channel when MOM came out. It was spicy af.
6:40 i would argue that a volcanic catacombs is a mountain that can fetch a swamp
I'm totally hoping for a meme jund version that just goes hard into goyf tribal.

KInda sad we didn't get any Pyrogoyf fireworks, but we basically checked every other achievement box. A pretty sick league.
Bosh you’re a dork that’s very good at magic and I love it
Volcanic Catacombs
Land - MH4 Mythic
T, Sac: Fetch a Swamp, Mountain or Forest, put in play and each opponent lose 1 live.
Would make me smile lol
Barrowgoyf not being a part of modern is a shame. Modern horizons commander is such a weird thing

Ach, Hans, FUN!
Goyf my beloved
So anyway, I started dragon
This deck looks like a really strong pioneer deck more than it does a legacy deck imo.
Isn't about half of the deck (and that's even ignoring the lands) straight up not pioneer legal?
I miss the Jund Goyf Mommy in this deck :(
If you wanted to be _really_ spicy, the one-of Living Death in the sideboard could be Patriarch's Bidding instead.
I looked at it. I think losing the wrath half is pretty bad.
This was so sweet
wouldn't it be better to use the br battle that kills something?
Wasting delver feelsgoodman
Great Island choice from your High Tide opponent. Anyone know what set it's from?
Onslaught #336
goyfs, yes
With naming schemes in MtG, I am surprised this isnt called Pox.
It's actually "Peanut Butter and Jelly", the Peanut Butter part is because of a 2001 Superbowl ad where Brad Pitt eats peanut butter; and the Jelly part is because it's playing red cards.
Yo, this rocks
I don't think i ever saw Liliana in hand
This deck is almost incapable of winning against a Rest In Peace lol
I actually think the deck can't beat leyline of the void
New boot goyfin
39:10 ball dont lie
Hi FreakNightmare
This was fant
Anyone else want the yorion painter list just me?
Damping sphere works on high tide
It helps with the storming off part, but will not stop the extra mana from the high tide effect.
Cool deck, but it really feels like you out played your opponents rather than the deck being amazing.
Good thing that’s part of the game. 💪🏻
