I saw an affirmation that I needed when I was starting a crochet project this weekend, so maybe you need it too! “I am patient with myself while I learn new things.”
i learned how to crochet by making granny squares over and over again! like dozens!!! It helps you get more comfortable with the yarn and tools before you start trying to make full pieces :)
@@CozyK or if granny squares are too much, I started out with a literal single crochet square! It helped me understand my tension and how to not constantly increase every row on accident. Then once you are done you basically have a wash cloth!
I did the same thing! I practiced the stitches in a line over and over again, then learned to make granny squares, all while marathonning the Lord of the Rings movies for some reason. Investing in learning the technique rather than making something is super important in crafts
such a great tip! this is how I learnt as well. I also really like having a dedicated small ball of scrap yarn where I just practice project-specific stitches over and over before I start the project
Oh noooo...so sad that you were so frustrated with crochet. I understand you're low frustration threshold, I'm the same. Could not get the hang of knitting so I picked up crochet supplies for Christmas and have been learning for almost half a year now. Online resources are a blessing and it's been so nice to watch the free tutorials some kind souls have provided. Sometimes, different tutorials are needed to understand a technique because we all have different styles of learning. ❤ Please don't give up. Crocheting little animals and stuff for friends is such a nice gesture. Most people love that you spent time on them. 😊
This is my favorite corner of UA-cam. You just have the best vibe, the coziest energy. You are the only one I trust with recommendations, from cozy games to everything mushroom or brown. I’m always happy to see a post from you, kindred spirit!
“This is me rage quitting crochet” is the most Ken thing I’ve ever heard 😂 love you!!!! You’ll get it, or you can find a new hobby, no pressure either way ❤
i love having smaller bags in my bag but it always reminds me of spongebob when they r trying to sell chocolate and get conned into buying bags for their bags lol
lmao you had me at the relatable cat XD, I have a yellow tabby and he's my wild child, but I'll try the calm approach from now on too, and see if that works lol
Also, yes to the cozy ambience videos! Everyone in my virtual coworking group listens to spotify playlists, meanwhile I have "magical tea room" ambience video playing lol.
As an experienced crocheter I definitely recommend learning using a chunky weight yarn it lets you see all the different stitches! You can also make cute stuffies that way.
I've been crocheting on and off as a hobby for like, almost 10 years now and I STILL have to look up how to do a magic ring EVERY SINGLE TIME! I will never remember the skill, lol.
I never comment yt videos but this is safe place so I'm going to open up. Your vlogs and your energy really have helped me these last months. I'm on this kind of depressed phase right now where i don't have the energy to do all these cozy things I still love (you girls sure know what I'm talking about...), but watching you is one of the few things that somehow inspires and motivates me to keep going and recovering. even if it is a tiny bit, it means a lot... really. You are like this sweet friend that always soothes and cheerish you up! truly hope all your dreams and goals come true girl. forever grateful that I've discovered your channel.
Now that you have a 3ds you should get mononoke forest! It's so cute. Its little forest spirits that are fighting little evil spirits and creating a little tranquil town
You are literally living my dream life😭 Living in your own cozy home, doing all the cozy activities AND having the coziest and coolest job!!! Ahh maybe one day 🥺 Thank god it’s a Sunday, I’m making myself do this today while I get over my sickness
It looks to me like you are drawing and it's very nice. Just watching you has made me happy you and your cats are such fun. Especially the black one but I really enjoyed the white one with his nose or maybe I should say it's lovely profile right in front of the camera.
hey kennedy!! love your videos. i used to rage quit crochet projects all the time LOL. emma p has a really great beginner crochet video. i referenced it so much when i was learning how to crochet. hope it helps you!
Omg! Ok so I’m watching your video and you’re showing your bag and how you organized it. I so wish we could send you pics because I just did this last week to my bag BEFORE seeing this. I LOVE when I’m in sync with people I admire.
you’re doing so well with crochet! if you want practice pieces, dishcloths are perfect! they help you get used to repeating the same stitch and getting a good tension. you’ve got this!
19:06 My cat does this too!! Always knocking over my jewellery boxes and knick knacks when she wants attention because she knows I'll jump up and say 'No!!!' 😂
Hi Cozy K I am still waking up I slept so hard last night it’s so quiet 🤫 in my house today Gus and mama are still gone and I am enjoying the quiet as much as possible ❤😊
im reading this comments & seeing that watching this vlog was the perfect plan for all of us today, i LOVE that. these are my fav vlogs for sure. ALSO the 3dsssssssss omg im so excitedddddd to see more ppl playing w 3dss, i hope u enjoy it as much as i enjoy mine & let us know what u think of it!!! 🤎
I clicked on the video thinking I'd find the 36 minutes to be too long, but turns out I enjoyed it all the way through and would have happily watched it if it was 2 hours! so now I'll go back to watch all your vlogs 🤗
Hi Cozy K I just finished my work out 🏋️♀️ and had lunch 🥗 and now I am at the library 📚 and I am probably going to get a coffee ☕️ at Dunkin’ Donuts ❤😊
OMGee I bought this pillow after watching you video and I used your code. I just received it yesterday and slept on it for the first time last night. I'm in love! Best pillow I've ever slept on and I'm curious to see how I feel about it in 6 months. Yay! I'm so excited - thank you for the unboxing and discount code. :)
I love crochet but I feel you. I was terrified of doing patterns because of how many specialized terms there are. It really does help to have someone physically show you if you can find someone. I do find knitting to be easier. Crochet is knots and knitting is loops so it's harder to lose things or mess them up.
I started crochet with cute lil kits like woobles, but it was rough bc there are so many techniques. If you want to give it another try, I would also recommend just learning basic stitches! I started with just doing rows of single stitches, single crochet, double, etc! I think learning the basics is really helpful bc you will be able to follow a pattern after!
I’ve bought from so many amazing small businesses because of you!! I know after watching this, my cart will be full again.😆You videos are so comforting and lovely!💕💕
Joanne Fabric has classes on crochet. I crochet. I know it’s hard to learn. It’s not just knowing the stitches In all that yarn where to place a stitch. If I were closer to you I would teach you. You’re videos have helped me figure out what video games I enjoy to play.
Oh my 🥰 I have just found you and I am now subscribed! This so the vibe I was looking for. Please can you let me know where you got your bird feeder from? I love Sarah j Mass! Please don’t give up on crochet! I found it really hard at first too, maybe try the cute turtle kit instead?
I most definitely recommend crocheting a book slip! There really easy and almost the entire thing is the same stitch type. The first thing I made that looked like SOMETHING was a book slip. :)
I don’t usually comment on videos, but I had to let you know that Azula falling off of that box tickled me 😂 I have a black cat named Zuko who also thinks that all packages are for him. He and I are enjoying this vlog and all of Azula’s antics very much!
I'm like, really experienced at knitting and every time I crochet I'm like - this is so harrrd! I keep on with it because I really like it, but I tend to think that crochet stuffies are the hardest. Square things like washcloths and blankets, and sweaters even, are easier than stuffies. It is definitely still on my "things I really want to do" list tho. 😆
I’ve Been In The Hospital For A Little Now So This Video Is Just What The Doctor Ordered LOL. Finished My Hospital Breakfast While Watching This. Thanks For Taking The Time To Make These Videos To Share A Bit Of Yourself w| Us. They Really Help Especially In These Situations. Loveeeeee You Ken! 🤎🤎🤎🤎🤎🤎🍂🍃🍂🍃🍂🍃🍂
As a 3 year seasoned crochet girly I would like to help and give advice, because crochet is awesome ❤ Start out with just a simple thing like a little scarf , anything square or rectangular, amigurumi is too difficult for beginners😅 And try using simple stitches like the single crochet . Hope this helps you!
Reminds me of self-learning sewing to make my own cosplay....watching so many youtube videos to learn what the heck types of stitches were in the instructions! I still wear my first ever cosplay and it's my favorite because I see how far I've come since! You got this! ♥
These cozy hobby vlogs just make me so excited to make some time for all the cozy hobbies! Like you said, I'm kinda bad at making time for these too but I swear I'm going to head to my planner right now and see when I can have a cozy hobby night!!
after you mentioned crocheting one of your last cozy hobby vlogs i started again and finished my very first project even though ive been trying to crochet since i was like 15 (24 now!) i made a cat ear beanie and it was so simple once i got past the initial stress and i enjoyed it so much i made a second one so i really do hope you give it a chance because you inspired me and now im hooked!
I know it sounds boring but just learn to crochet a square to start, then you learn the basics and can really clearly see what is happening and what to do 😊🙌 you got this! ❤
Keep trying with the crochet. It's worth it! Amigurumi is hard to start with for an absolute beginner. I would start with a dishcloth or scarf. Debbie Stoller's book The Happy Hooker really helped me when I was beginning. I highly recommend it. Good luck!
I actually started crocheting recently because of your cozy hobby vlog where you first tried it it out! It's definitely tricky but a perfect activity while I'm watching TV. I watched Bella Coco's beginner series to get started and I'm slowly but surely improving-I honestly just did a bunch of janky little squares at first of the same stitch to get comfortable with it haha but it was not pretty!! Cheyenne Barton, Jenna Phipps, and amazingishgrace are some very cool crochet/craft creators I've found and have been great because they crochet the *coolest* shit and it actually keeps me motivated to keep trying. All this to say-you're doing great! (But also it's cool if you eventually decide you have other hobbies that are more fun/fulfilling and you want to give it up-live your best life!)
I remember when I was really young and took a crocheting class at a Joann fabric and I learned a lot, granted I’m 24 now and don’t remember a thing but maybe looking for a local class could be good to help you get started.
These vlogs are my favourite Kennedy💕💕! Your channel gives me such a good feeling. Seeing you try new things and busy with your selfcare. Its so motivating! 🥰 I also started crocheting making a scarf, that was the easiest ever. Just long rows of doing the same of over and over. You will get it in no time ☺️
omg my friend gave me a jellyfish crochet kit for my birthday and I was so excited... then I gave up after messing up the magic circle like 5 times! Glad to hear I'm not the only one who rage quit crochet lol
Thank you for this wonderful, cozy vlog! I would love a short about which games you're excited to have on your 3DS. I have one, but haven't played it in ages.
I've been crocheting since I was 8, and I'll be 40 this summer. When I tell you that the magic circle had me screaming with frustration... girl. It's tough. And jumping straight into amigurumi when you're learning to crochet is hard too. Keep after it. I think the hardest part is learning tension and then just getting the muscle memory for it. You can do it! (Also, I'm here for Azula being absolutely feral the whole day. LOL)
Not me watching this while I crochet. 😂 I feel your frustration. But go back to the beginner’s kit when you’re ready. OR. Start something flat instead of in the round. Dishcloths and pot holders are your friend when you’re a beginner. I learned by watching Tiffany from Daisy Farm Crafts on YT. She’s a fabulous teacher, and she has loads of videos of just stitches.
I started with knitting and switched over to crochet as it seemed way easier. The magic circle is a pain in the butt so don't be discouraged it took me many tries when I had some experience. The magic circle def had me ready to pull my hair out so I can so relate. 😂❤
Hi Ken it’s almost thanks giving I am so excited 😆 tomorrow I am going into the community and I am walking around the mall and I am probably going to Dunkin’ Donuts 🍩 again to get a coffee ☕️ 😊
I recently got a 3ds as well! I haven't had one since I was a kid. You should make a video on games you're choosing to buy! I want to get as many good ones as possible, but I have a lot of the ones I'm aware of! 🖤
I taught myself crochet on youtube . My friend was having a baby and i wanted to make a blanket . It does take a few attempts to get started but it really can be fun once you get past the starting hurdles. Maybe do something easier like a scarf or a wash cloth .
You should get some fun colors of cotton yarn and make washcloths/dishcloths before attempting more challenging projects, in my humble opinion :) It will give you a chance to learn the stitches and figure out tension and gauge and is soooo much more relaxing because once you get the hang of it you can just mindlessly cruise through each row and it is very meditative. I'm a long time crocheter/knitter and I have made everything from sweaters to scarves, even Junimos from Stardew and I promise you all it takes is practice. But start with something easier and you will be amazed at how fast you pick it up! Love your channel so much, especially the cozy hobby vlogs. I'm a 45 year old cozy gamer and I look forward to watching your videos, your content is fabulous!
I learned to crochet a couple of months ago and was really frustrated in the beginning because I just couldn't figure it out but once over that hurdle eventually everything starts making sense. Stick with it and watch many video tutorials, they are a godsend. Good luck! ^_^
So happy to see so many vlogs from you lately!! 😍🤎 It’s snowing out here and super cold, but it’s cozy and warm in my home while I paint my nails and watch this lovely video 🧡🧡
So, You’re telling me it’s Friday evening where I am, it’s snowing outside, I got a new book AND I GET A NEW COZY KENNEDY VLOG? thank you 😌

I saw an affirmation that I needed when I was starting a crochet project this weekend, so maybe you need it too! “I am patient with myself while I learn new things.”
Your cats made me smile so much! I love their spunky personalities. Really enjoying watching through your videos.
I also really love your handwriting while you were writing in your planner. My handwriting just always looks like a child wrote it lol
You knew what you were in for when you named her Azula XD
i learned how to crochet by making granny squares over and over again! like dozens!!! It helps you get more comfortable with the yarn and tools before you start trying to make full pieces :)
granny squares it is!!!
@@CozyK or if granny squares are too much, I started out with a literal single crochet square! It helped me understand my tension and how to not constantly increase every row on accident. Then once you are done you basically have a wash cloth!
I learned by making granny squares too. Actually it was a blanket that was a giant continuous granny square.
I did the same thing! I practiced the stitches in a line over and over again, then learned to make granny squares, all while marathonning the Lord of the Rings movies for some reason. Investing in learning the technique rather than making something is super important in crafts

I recently got a 3ds as well! I haven't had one since I was a kid. You should make a video on games you're choosing to buy! I want to get as many good ones as possible, but I have a lot of the ones I'm aware of! 🖤
absolutely obsessed with the cozy vlogs!! crochet is incredibly hard at first but you're doing great
I see that Felicia Chao print in the background! 👌🏽 Instantly subscribed, love the vibe here 😊
Love your kitties!!!!
I taught myself crochet on youtube . My friend was having a baby and i wanted to make a blanket . It does take a few attempts to get started but it really can be fun once you get past the starting hurdles. Maybe do something easier like a scarf or a wash cloth .
That scarf was so big you looked like a little kid. That's so cute.
😭👧🏽
@@CozyK you're absolutely beautiful. Don't worry about me being silly. 💕
I know what im vibe'n to tonight
I'm a crocheter learning my new Switch. Keep at the crochet, I would try an easy dish cloth. Also, look up TL Yarn crafts for hers.
